There were three others in the van with the man shot by ICE in Houston this week. A representative for the families tells TNR that the government is pressuring these potential witnesses to self-deport.

ICE should never be given any benefit of a doubt. The organization, its operatives, and superiors have demonstrated a remarkable capacity for repeated, bald-faced lying. Especially when its thugs murder people.

They need protection - ICE will murder them to delay prosecution.

ICE are Trump's Brownshirts; rounding up Jews, only browner.

This is true for the entire administration. All statements should be considered false and lies until proven otherwise.

Man fatally shot by ICE in Houston was not intended target, DHS says
4 hours ago

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said on Thursday the stop was initiated because they saw "a white van with an individual who resembled the target" of an operation. They have said the officer shot in self-defence.

The agents involved in the shooting were not wearing body cameras and officials have not released any images or videos related to it."

All brown men in white vans look alike, right?

And this, 'weaponized vehicle' shtick is getting old fast.

How convenient.

And this, 'weaponized vehicle' shtick is getting old fast.

Cops of all stripes have been doing it for years. The only difference now is ICE has been so blatant that the normal shell game these pigs and prosecutors use to get away with it isn't working every time like it normally does.

Something's not right with this story. If the others are in the country illegally, why couldn't immigration simply deport them?

Right.

Allegedly Araujo attempted to run over an ICE agent.

"According to DHS, officers tried to stop Araujo's vehicle as part of a targeted operation, after which the undocumented Araujo "attempted to evade arrest." DHS claimed Araujo "refused to follow multiple verbal commands" before trying to "run over" an ICE officer, who then fired "in self-defense." Araujo, struck in the abdomen, was transported to the hospital, where he died."

He was shot in the stomache outside of the van.

How does a man who is allegedly evading officers, running them over and ignoring commands suddenly outside of his van with a hole in his abdomine?

Rather, his abdomen.

You are alleging that Araujo was shot while seated and in motion, then stopped the van and drug outside of the van, or did he try to run?

I'm saying it's not impossible to shoot someone in the abdomen while they're in a vehicle and operating it.

I'm also saying, if the others were here illegally, why would someone need to pressure them to self deport?

How did he allegedly get outside of the van after he was shot?

Did ICE drag him out or was he trying to run with a massive gut wound?

Just because someone is shot in the abdomen, doesn't mean they can't still mobilize. But I don't know the exact answer to your question.

There is no damage whatsoever to any vehicle.

There was an unmarked ICE vehicle on either side of the van intimidating them to stop.

Once he stopped his van the ICE agent just began shooting into the van.

Araujo was found just outside the van when the EMT's arrived, so he didn't run.

ICE has no video or audio to prove anything.

Abdominal wounds are the worst injuries to inflict on someone.

I think MattM can attest to this better, but here goes my take.

The most dense amount of tissue is located there, the lengthy large and small intestines are coiled around like a snake.

The painful wound -- bullet, knife, or sword -- penetrates the digestive system spreading bacteria into the blood stream and the rest of the body, which leads to sepsis.

Why shoot someone in the gut to cause a slow, painful death that is difficult to treat?

There's no reason for this, other than sadism.

And ICE can be issued effective non-lethal rounds

Lastly, Araujo could have been picked up at a later date without violence as ICE had all of his pedigree info and he had nowhere to hide.

As retired 73rd Precint NYPD homicide detective First Grade "P.M." -- a good New York Irishman -- related to me last century:

"Meh. We'll pick him up tomorrow. Let's go get some coffee." [Sets fire to his Marlboro and enjoys a drag]

Many abdominal wounds, if treated in a trauma bay during the 'golden hour' are survivable. Breach a major artery you can be in the trauma bay when shot and you won't survive. I would assume they were shooting center of mass and missed low. It would be interesting to see the scene recreated, positions, angles etc. but that will never happen now. Look how much progress has been made with Renae Good's murder, that was in January.

ICE killed someone in Texas?

Did Abbott give him a medal?

Guy's probably a hero there.

"Lorenzo Salgado Araujo's passengers dispute ICE's account of his fatal shooting, their attorney says

"They confirmed that at no point was there ever an ICE agent directly in front of the vehicle," Balderas said. "They also confirmed that the shots came from the sides, not from the front, which is inconsistent with the ICE statement."

Forget it Red, it's Texas.

Or.. Texans are sick and tired of parasite legislators enriching themselves and will embrace a purge agenda.

They are allegedly well-armed, so that is unlikely to be permitted.

Typical ICE?

Believe our "story" and ignore others who have a different version.

How many times have the ICE agents "stories" been shown to be, at best, misleading?
