A group of parents is suing the Palo Alto Unified Schol District and Palo Alto High Principal Brent Kline for allegedly encouraging students to wear Islamic religious attire during a field trip to a local mosque and for distributing photos of students without consent, according to a complaint that was filed last week in federal court. The suit is being brought forward by a group called Community Members for Religious Neutrality in Public Schools " San Francisco Bay Area and involves several parents of current and former Paly students as well as parents from other nearby communities. According to the suit, the group includes Jafi Lipson and Josh Lehrer, who are Jewish parents of Paly students, and Sasha Ava Lehrer, a former Paly student who is Jewish. |
