The Democrat party IS the party of illegal aliens. They prioritize illegal aliens over US citizens. At best minimal vetting upon entry. At the state level they actively protect illegal aliens who commit violent criminal acts from ICE. A flood of illegal aliens results in driving down wages, housing shortages, a strain on public services, a lack of assimilation, human sec and drug trafficking baked in the process of coming here illegally, a weakening of our law and civic structure. I read the key provisions in the bill. It codified illegal immigration. The threshold for actual enforcement was set in the millions and then enforcement was only temporary. #11 I agree with you. It was certainly business as usual under Bush. But now, it's no longer the case. It turns out border enforcement is popular with voters. For all of its faults, and they are legion, the GOP is now the party of border enforcement. We've seen it with governors and now at the federal level. Some things do, in fact, change.
