Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

A couple things that capitalism gives you that socialism and collectivism doesnt: Privacy and individualism. Capitalism guards these things. You cant have them in a progressive ideology. The left MUST know who is rich and who isnt. They have to know where to aim their hate. They have to know where and who to physically TAKE things from to give away. That's how socialist democracies work. The exact thing our Constitutional Republic was made to avoid and is morally against. Take from those who produce and give to those who dont. But also, it gives the leftist something to make it look like they are morally correct. The capital they dont have. I truly believe some leftists want to help the poor. Problem is, they are just poor themselves and they dont have the money to do so. So they end up hurting and demonizing those very people who would and could be the ones to take care of the poor. The wealthy people they dont know.

"The left MUST know who is rich and who isnt"

I'm just interested in finding the thieves. In the same way that you people USED to be interested in catching the pedophiles.

MAGA's concept of wealth is rancid. No matter how you get the money, once you have it, it's yours. MAGA shoots dead kids who steal beer from convenience stores, but if you can manage a theft into the millions or billions that's considered fine.

There's a MAGA parallel here with rape. If the victim gets pregnant, the rapist also owns the child. Once again, no matter how you get it, it's yours.

I see where you are coming from Zed.

Finding thieves and equating "thieves" with normal law abiding Americans who amass wealth for themselves is two different things.

And your #2 doesnt make sense.

The system is for anyone to get rich if they apply themselves.

Given that thievery and fraud are both history and current events for the Trump mob, this is pretty silly.

If you had any self awareness you'd understand everyone here fits that description, including yourself.

The system is for anyone to get rich if they apply themselves.

If there is once common trait it would be perseverance, but its not a guarantee.
The difference between GDP's is the aggregate discipline of its population.
In this way "applying oneself" can be seen as the system to get out of the quicksand of poverty.
If you lived in a poor country, leave. Thats what the smart African and Muslims are doing ... leaving poverty and poor governance.

People born into poverty generally stay there, at no fault of their own.

Smart industrious people in poverty will get out of poverty. What keeps people in poverty is bad governance; lack of trust, high crime, and no rule of law, who would invest? If your "shop" is going to constantly get burglarized, why would you invest your time? Thats why I find it funny "lumpers" support more crime. You may say you don't but you vote against the victim consistently. Just the idea of "raising" the felony dollar figure caused all sorts of crime and distortions, CA Lumpers voted for more crime, to help the criminals. You wanna help poor people, fight crime, destroy criminality.

Perhaps to one with a reputation for overanalyzing another poster's retort to the point of incoherence that might be worth trying to argue. But the statement and the language used was directed to Boaz, not to you.

It's almost always their fault in our country today. Personal decisions, life decisions determine your lot in life in our nation. You could apply your statement to Africa or some other poor --------, but not the U.S.

"But also, it gives the leftist something to make it look like they are morally correct."

There is good and sound policy that comes from the left that attempts to protect individuals. Policies that govern lending and other consumer focused services and products.

That's not socialism. Nor is it wrong. Those policies don't come from the right. Those policies matter to me.

But the left can't help itself with the "morally correct" rhetoric. It works as a political wedge. Look at the dopes here who never miss an opportunity to express their superiority because of who they claim they vote for. They clearly manage their personal lives like complete ----.....but by god they are better than you because of who they claim they vote for. Personally, I'm not sure very many of them actually vote.

I'm a couple tax brackets better than my parents. Education, lifestyle, net worth, etc......and I've been able to support my kids as they pursued more expensive education opportunities.

I can't say that I couldn't have done it elsewhere but I managed to do it here.

but I credit the Democratic party significantly for giving me "system" to succeed.

Michael Jackson was a freaking genius at a number of things he did and absolutely successful by any stretch of the imagination aside from his personal life. I don't think it was love of money that twisted him at all.

He loved what he could do with money, much of which was twisted enough for anyone, and ultimately led to his early personal, medically assisted demise.

Defending Michael Jackson was not on my to-do list today. But there you have it.

- Smart industrious people in poverty will get out of poverty.

"While being smart and industrious helps, it is not always enough to escape poverty due to systemic barriers, psychological stress, and luck."

Economic Realities

Systemic limits: Hard work alone often lacks ownership or high-leverage strategy.

The poverty trap: Scarcity consumes cognitive bandwidth, making long-term planning difficult.

The role of luck: Timing, health, and initial environment heavily influence upward mobility.

Key Factors Beyond Effort

Ownership vs. Labor: Wealth typically builds through systems and assets, not just extra hours.

The Margin for Error: A single emergency can wipe out savings and trap low-income individuals in high-interest debt cycles.

Social Capital: Networks and access provide opportunities that raw talent cannot always unlock alone." AI

The wealthy can't steal money from the poor. The poor don't have any money. The wealthy can't take something from you that was never yours in the first place. Musk is a billionaire, and some of his wealth came from me paying for internet service. Where is the theft, are you arguing that you should get paid a portion of my Star-Link payments?

Rigger please!

No one is arguing with your strawman.

Would you like to discuss how Elon Musk's companies have received at least $38 billion in government contracts, loans, subsidies, and tax credits since 2003. Whose money was that?

Reports indicate Musk has business interests in over 70% of the federal entities targeted by DOGE cuts

Interestingly agencies regulating Musk's tech interests face deep cuts while his own federal contracts see alternative treatment or expansion.

Yeah. It's not rigged at all!

No one cares about your starlink account.

Tax cuts for the wealthy at the expense of healthcare subsidies or SNAP however IS stealing money from the poor.

Tax cuts for high-income earners disproportionately benefit the wealthy and widen the wealth gap.

nobody understands that well enough to muster up a real argument.

But let's discuss the worker who works for Musk. A warehouse worker who works for Musk is entitled to what, exactly?

Let's compare this warehouse worker to his neighbor who does the exact same job for a 2 location family owned lumberyard.

They are paid approximately the same, same hours, benefits are roughly the same, etc.

Is one of those workers entitled to something the other worker isn't?

It would seem there is an argument the Musk employee is entitled to much more........or that he is being stolen from more than the other worker.

Musk and his ilk are buying politicians to write tax laws for them and give them lucrative Gov contracts.

They have usurped Gov of, by, and for the People, thanks mostly to Republicans who made Money Speech and Corporations Super Citizens.

So you don't want the money, you want the government to have it. The Democrats are a party full of grifters. Establishment Republicans are a different set grifters but still grifters. Trump represents another group of grifters. They are all competing for government money. Unless you are in on the grift, I don't see how it should matter to you.
