Squatting is actually very good for society, bowelly-speaking.
But your proposed system seems fine to me. The criminal penalties should do wonders for cutting down on frivolous claims by landlords who want to evict tenants by falsely claiming that they are squatters.
That's always the danger with summary processes for evictions, false representations by property owners that the occupant has never had a right to be there.
I came across this little gem the other day.
This woman had a development company without her knowing what they were doing build a house on her property and then try to sue the poor woman when she complained.
