Donald Trump has a serious Puerto Rico problem " in Pennsylvania. Many Puerto Rican voters in the state are furious about racist and demeaning comments delivered at a Trump rally. Some say their dismay is giving Kamala Harris a new opening to win over the state's Latino voters, particularly nearly half a million Pennsylvanians of Puerto Rican descent. Evidence of the backlash was immediate on Monday: A nonpartisan Puerto Rican group drafted a letter urging its members to oppose Trump on election day. Other Puerto Rican voters were lighting up WhatsApp chats with reactions to the vulgar display and raising it in morning conversations at their bodegas. Some are planning to protest Trump's rally Tuesday in Allentown, a majority-Latino city with one of the largest Puerto Rican populations in the state.
---- getting real, now.

Yeah.

Fmr Pres Trump and his campaign seem to be trying to deflect conversations away from the comments spoken at the trump rally at MSG.

Trump rally's Puerto Rico slur lands with a thud in Pennsylvania

... Republican candidate faces backlash after airing of racist insults at his New York gathering

Lisa Harmony had a warning for Donald Trump as she stood outside the small grocery store she runs in a heavily Puerto Rican neighbourhood of Allentown, Pennsylvania, one of the cities that will decide next week's US election.

Two days after a rightwing comedian at a huge Trump rally in New York City called Puerto Rico, a US territory in the Caribbean Sea, an "island of garbage", Harmony said the fallout could be brutal for the former president.

"I think he's going to lose a lot of votes because of that. Definitely a lot of the Latino population," Harmony said.

Pennsylvania, the largest battleground state and the biggest prize in the White House race between Trump and vice-president Kamala Harris, has a Puerto Rican population of nearly 500,000. As US citizens, the adults can vote. ...

WATCH: Old Footage Of Kamala Harris And TV Personality Montel Williams Resurfaces (July 2024)
thesource.com

... Old video footage has resurfaced of VP Kamala Harris and former television personality Montel Williams in 2001, when the two used to date.

The footage pre-dates Harris' political career and shows the two attending a red carpet event together. Harris was heading the Family and Children's Services Division of San Francisco and would win her first political position as the San Francisco DA in 2004. At the time, Williams was in the midst of the syndicated run of The Montel Williams Show, which would end in 2008.

The relationship didn't last long, with Harris meeting her husband, attorney Doug Emhoff, through a friend in 2013, while Williams married American Airlines flight steward Tara Fowler in 2007. Williams said he had "great respect" for Harris in a tweet as she was named Joe Biden's running mate for the 2020 election. ...

What to Know About Kamala Harris and Montel Williams' Dating History (August 2024)
www.marieclaire.com

... Old photos of the former couple have gone viral online.

Since President Joe Biden announced he was withdrawing from the 2024 presidential race and endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris, all eyes have been on the former senator.

Now, as the official Democratic nominee for president, voters are learning more about the first woman and first Black and South Asian person to become vice president of the United States. Everything from her net worth, relationship with her father, and record as an attorney general are now under the proverbial microscope"even her romantic history.

While Harris has been happily married to Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff since 2014, she previously dated another public figure: Montel Williams. The talk show host's previous relationship with Harris resurfaced after right-wing social media influencers shared archival photos of the pair attending an event decades ago on X (formerly known as Twitter) back in 2019.

Right-wing provocateur and failed candidate for Congress Laura Loomer more recently used the photos to attack Harris in a since-deleted post, making sexist remarks about Harris and accusing her of being a sex worker. (Justifiably, the posts were flagged as "hateful content.")

Partisan and baseless attacks aside, Harris' dating history with Williams is back in the spotlight, so here's a trip down memory lane. ...

Actually, I don't see that occurring. The only ones I see even talking about it are the Kamala dead-enders looking at their internal polls and realizing that the 'Hitler card' and 'sex assault from 3 decades prior card' didn't work so they are resorting to this. I don't-- I--I don't know the Puerto Rican that--that I know--or a Puerto Rico, where I'm fr--in my home state of Delaware, they're good, decent, honorable people. GOP voices frustration, disgust over Trump MSG rally

... Republicans are expressing frustration about controversial remarks made at former President Trump's Madison Square Garden rally, worrying it could complicate the party's outreach to Hispanic, Latino and Black voters.

Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, one of the featured guests at Trump's New York City event, sparked a furor after referring to Puerto Rico as a "a floating island of garbage," prompting some members of the GOP, like Rep. Anthony D'Esposito (R-N.Y.), who is Puerto Rican, to come out against the remarks. And Tucker Carlson mocked Vice President Harris's racial identity.

To be outraged over what a random comedian says, but not what the sitting POTUS. Got it. "Oh Joe isn't running". Yeah? Neither is that comedian.

Hopefully it's not a mob of rabid insurrectionists singing the Confederate national anthem in our nations capitol again.

Next week Trump will declare victory no matter what.
Next week Trump will cry out about voter fraud - whether he wins or not.
He's already started the Next Big Lie.

Fact:
There's not going to be any mass migration so we're all going to be living with each other no matter what.

Best outcome:
Harris wins clearly enough that Trump's sent packing. It is well past the time we turn the page on this hate, this scapegoating, the demagoguery. Also we desperately need the House and Senate.

God help us all if Trump is elected.

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight ...
I've got my clipboard, text books
Lead me to the station
Yeah, I'm off to the civil war
I've got my kit bag, my heavy boots
I'm runnin' in the rain
Gonna run till my feet are raw
Slip kid, slip kid, second generation
And I'm a soldier at thirteen
Slip kid, slip kid, realization
There's no easy way to be free
No easy way to be free
It's a hard, hard world
I left my doctor's prescription bungalow behind me
I left the door ajar
I left my vacuum flask
Full of hot tea and sugar
Left the keys right in my car
Slip kid, slip kid, second generation
Only half way up the tree
Slip kid, slip kid, I'm a relation
I'm a soldier at sixty-three
No easy way to be free
Slip kid, slip kid
Keep away old man, you won't fool me
You and your history won't rule me
You might have been a fighter, but admit you failed
I'm not affected by your blackmail
You won't blackmail me
I've got my clipboard, text books
Lead me to the station
Yeah, I'm off to the civil war
I've got my kit bag, my heavy boots
I'm runnin' in the rain
Gonna run till my feet are raw
Slip kid, slip kid, slip out of trouble
Slip over here and set me free
Slip kid, slip kid, second generation
You're slidin' down the hill like me
No easy way to be free
No easy way to be free
No easy way to be free
