Elon Musk Announces Wireless Brain Chip Implant
Tech billionaire Elon Musk says his Neuralink company has successfully implanted one of its wireless brain chips in a human for the first time.
The PR release and announcements and all the media hoopla have been cleverly phrased and designed to imply that for the first time this kind of operation / implant was ever achieved, and it was done by Musk's Neuralink... while in reality there have been several successful instances of neural brain and "brain+perimeter" BCI chips implanted in research institutions (like Northwell Health) and private companies since at least 2016 (Nathan Copeland), when Musk just launched Neuralink. 6 out of 8 co-founders of Neuralink left the company.
What the PR release actually says is that it was the first time that Neuralink chip was successfully impplanted in human.
