That's not what I read. Biden didn't want to drop out. He was effectively forced out. On his behalf, one of his aides tepidly endorsed Harris via a Tweet, if memory serves.

His condition was being hidden from the public (a majority saw through it and were accused of being ageist conspiracy theorists) by his team, the Democratic Party and the MSM. For almost the entirety of his administration Harris had a lower favorability rating than he did. So, they bluffed. Challenged Trump to 2 debates (the first one being historically early) and set terms that they though were so 1-sided that Trump would want to negotiate (which is customary for presidential debates) and they'd have their talking point that he was too chicken to debate and would then say due to his cowardice they weren't going to debate at all. And this the charade would have continued with the MSM carrying oceans of water for Biden and the Dems. But Trump quickly accepted the terms and Biden was finally publicly exposed in a way that no one could gaslight or deny. And the rest is history.

When Biden first started his vote busting gambit of cancelling student loans DeSantis during a presser said almost 60% of those with student loans have masters degrees. Politifact emailed his press secretary at the time (Pushaw) asking where he got that number. Her reply was: (Paraphrasing) your parent company (Poynter) produced a study that revealed that 56% of those with student debt hold masters degrees. And from our perspective 56% is synonymous with "almost 60%".

In her response she provided a link to the study.

What did Politifact do? Rated Desantis's claim mostly false' and shut off replies to the fact check.

That is but one of countless other examples of fact checkers being partisan hacks.

Community notes isn't perfect but it's more accurate than our current slate of so- called fact checkers.

The only reason you like fact checkers is due to their extreme ideological bias.
