This is legal?

Pure lawfare and retaliation. Like a quarter of Harvard students are foreign.

@#2 ... This is legal? ...

Harvard was given a certificate by the US that allows it to enroll foreign students. Pres Trump has revoked that certificate.

But to your question ...

My current view is that there likely needs to be a reason to revoke the certificate. Whether or not Pres Trump had a valid, legal reason?

Too soon to tell.

I suspect there will be a court case about this.

They chose not to fulfill an information request and enrolling foreign students is a privilege. They have 72 hours to bend the knee. I assume that they will bend the knee. Trump already cancelled their racist entry process, stopped their fed government money grad, and now this. Next is taxing their endowment.

" information request"

They refused to become an accomplice to spy on their students. No wonder you included zero details what that 'information request' was.

Despite the daily list of spiraling, incremental attacks on freedom and mounting authoritarianism, MAGA world has a justification for each ridiculous step taken by their maniacal would-be king. They can't be saved. I don't know where, when, or how, but there is going to be an explosion of fed-up people.

And now Harvard is suing the administration.

Some commentators said Mr. Trump was accelerating China's ascent. They celebrated that American universities would lose both revenue and talent, some of which might flow to China instead. At least one university in Hong Kong has already said that it is willing to offer unconditional admission to any transfer students from Harvard.

Ren Yi, a high-profile blogger who goes by the pen name Chairman Rabbit and is himself a Harvard graduate, wrote that the United States government was "castrating" its own top university.

"This is a great change unseen in a century," he wrote, quoting China's leader, Xi Jinping, who has used the phrase to describe his confidence in China's rise. (Mr. Xi's own daughter also graduated from Harvard.)

Nope.

Denied.

The Court has denied Trumpy's latest unconstitutional authoritarian power grab. Like it has denied his attempt to illegal fire federal workers. It's no wonder he wants to gut the judiciary too.

"Presidents may set policy priorities for the executive branch, and agency heads may implement them. This much is undisputed," wrote Judge Susan Illston in her order in U.S. District Court for the District of Northern California.

"But Congress creates federal agencies, funds them, and gives them duties that " by statute " they must carry out," Illston wrote.

"Agencies may not conduct large-scale reorganizations and reductions in force in blatant disregard of Congress's mandates, and a President may not initiate large-scale executive branch reorganization without partnering with Congress."

A federal judge blocked the Trump administration from revoking Harvard University's ability to enroll foreign students, calling the order a "blatant violation" of the U.S. Constitution.

So, no magat scum could provide the slightest of justifications for the assault on higher learning.

Do you all realize that the research done at these schools is the very foundation of why American industry is the best in the world? The research done at these institutions is the basis for so many advances in so many fields.

It is MADNESS to destroy those institutions.

And now Shitler wants Apple to move factories to America or face a 25% tariff.

They've been given a choice. Either the tariff, or make them in America.

That's an easy choice for them: they'll take the tariff.

Now remind me: who pays the tariff, Copernicus?

Whats the issue? I seriously don't see the downside, makes Apple pay more in corporate income taxes, builds modern factories in the US, raises local and state tax revenue due to employment.

Same people that will pay for more corporate taxes.

The difference between, a tariff and across the board rise in corporate taxes is that consumers can choose to avoid the tariff inflated prices.
The hope is less people buy Apple products, and incentivizes developers and manufactures in the US to develop competing products.
Very similar to the subsidies Obama gave Tesla, which are antipodal, but same affect, lowering the cost of their products to sell more EV.

Its strange Lumpers support spending tax dollars on subsidies, but complain when consumers have to pay more in tariff (taxes).
