Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, May 30, 2025

Ohio Senator Joni Ernst gave a perfect demonstration of the real morals of republicans when voters confronted her about people being kicked off of Medicaid by provisions in the budget bill currently be considered by Congress. When audience members called the bill a "tax shelter" for the wealthy and stated that people will die because if, Ernst replied with "Well, we all are doing to die."

Joni Ernst is a Veteran. She knows 1 in 10 Veterans rely on Medicaid. And yet she sat at a town hall and defended cutting it. So what does that mean--that those Veterans don't deserve care? That it's fine if they die quietly? Because that's the message she sent.

Expect to hear that quote from Ernst being played on loop by Democrats during the mid-terms next year. She perfectly summed up the values of the GOP.

I have already heard that maga meme regurgitated here by a local DR maga maroon.

It was apparently acceptable to this maga maroon that George Floyd was murdered and his face ground into the pavement by a vengeful cop.

He was (probably) gonna die soon anyway.

Which I guess also justified sending the cop to prison. He was gonna end up there eventually anyway.

Hey Senator Ernst! How about having the backs of your fellow Iowans, instead? What the hell does Hamas have to do with poor Iowans?

The "pro-life" party's new slogan: "Well, we all are going to die."

I found her "1.4 million" that are to be cut from Medicaid a curious reference. How does she know that and where are they? They aren't in Iowa, or any other state. Turns out I may have found them in California - 1.6 million without proper documentation are allowed to enroll in Medi-Cal.

So the United States Congressional House has targeted California, the world's 4th largest economy? Is that what's going on?

The proper way to do this isn't this assbackward approach of cutting funding first, but rather make sure only those that are eligible are enrolled. Then let the savings manifest.

Yav:

That's amazing California is giving illegals Medical. That should not happen, period. They should be paying down their enormous debt and investing more in cleaning up SF. I was there recently, and oof, That cannot be the only city in California with those problems.

In Texas, we (by God) allow everyone who is a white male Christian: equality (with other white males), the right to be killed by handguns in fights and road rage and mass shootings, the right to a sub-par education, the right of the rich to sponge off taxpayer money to send their kids to private schools FAR away from those yucky black and brown kids, the right to engage in a contract with the state IF you swear fealty to Israel, and the right to show China who is boss(!) by denying professors and state contractors research in China, and their right not to indoctrinate your college students into radical ideas like "equity" and "inclusion." *spit* After all, they gotta learn sooner or later that Texas is about white males being dominant as Jesus himself said, amirite! And we don't let illegals do anything but cower in fear.

" Why would vets need medicaid if they can get VA coverage?"

To get VA coverage, the vet formerly had to go to the VA facility. Congress opened it up so vets could go to their local hospital, versus ALWAYS having to travel and pay extra for lodging, eating out, etc.

I certainly do hope so! Her comment was perfectly indicative of the unspoken plans that will directly effect every red state and generate the hatred for Republicans that they richly deserve. Tax cuts for the rich are now more important than the lives of the morons who vote Republican over and over. hIope Ernst's words become the insult to human life that teaches the morons that the GQP doesn't care if their children die! They only care when a 16 year old rape victim doesn't think she's ready to be a mother.

Joni Ernst's Sarcastic 'Apology' for Medicaid Cuts Response Sparks Fury
www.newsweek.com

After the tense exchange at the town event, Senator Ernst posted an apology on her Instagram account, which some said made matters "worse."

While seeming to be apologetic at the start the video, saying she wanted to "apologize for a statement that I made yesterday at my town hall," she then continued: "I made an incorrect assumption that everyone in the auditorium understood that yes we are all going to perish from this earth."

The sarcasm of her apology ramped up even higher as she added: "I'm really, really glad I did not have to bring up the subject of the tooth fairy as well."

In the background of the video, which has since widely circulated on X, she appears to be walking through a cemetery as what look like gravestones can be seen scattered behind her on the grass.

After she shared the video, the internet exploded with comments responding to the senator's statement.

The race to the bottom unleashed by Trump and his elevation of scum.
