OpEd: President Donald Trump is rapidly becoming even more of a punchline on the world stage, according to foreign policy expert David Rothkopf, who appeared on Friday's episode of The Daily Beast Podcast to deliver a scathing assessment of Trump's global irrelevance. "I would argue he may be the most impotent president of the United States that we've seen in our lifetimes," Rothkopf told host Joanna Coles. "He's alienated our allies, undermined our economy, attacked the international system -- and he hasn't made a single deal."

More from the OpEd...

... The former Clinton administration official and regular Daily Beast contributor painted a picture of a leader increasingly out of his depth. The latest example of Trump's ineptitude? His seemingly impulsive decision to claim credit for Friday's Israeli air strikes on Iran -- even after his own Secretary of State Marco Rubio denied prior knowledge and said Israel had acted "unilaterally." Both Trump and the Israelis then scrambled to make the attack look like a joint effort.

"Trump wants to be the bride at every wedding and the corpse at every funeral," Rothkopf quipped, mocking the president's need to put himself at the center of every news story. ...

International leaders aren't buying the act either, according to Rothkopf. "People are making fun of Trump publicly on stage," he said. "They just don't think he's a serious character."

While the international order appears increasingly fragmented, Trump is sending in both the National Guard and the military against protests described by the administration as an "insurrection." There could not be a worse time to have someone as incompetent as Trump in charge of the country, Rothkopf argues.

"People around the world look at it and they say the U.S. is collapsing." ...

@#2 ... Pithy summary. ...

Yup.

Pres Trump seemed to use PM Netanyahu's attack on Iran as an excuse to back out of negotiating with Iran.

So, why did PM Netanyahu apparently ignore Pres Trump's negotiations with Iran in the first place?

Maybe because PM Netyanahu saw those negotiations as being unsuccessful, so better to strike now than later?

Or maybe, because the negotiations might have been successful, and Pres Trump, in his long-time eagerness to "strike a deal" sold Israel off to the Iranians in a transaction to attain that deal?

Now he insist on a Iranian deal with a gun to their head. What could possibly go wrong.

Israel and Iran wouldn't be attacking each other right now if Trump were President!

According to Netanyahu and other sources, Trump had full prior knowledge of Israel's attack and gave it his blessing while pretending to be negotiating with the Iranians as a cover.

If this is true, then the US is already at war with Iran as we facilitated an aggressive sneak attack by our "proxy"
with our weapons.

Tucker Carlson (who I trust a hell of a lot more than Netanyahu) told Steve Bannon that he knows for a fact that this isn't true. He claims that Witkoff and Trump were negotiating in good faith and wanted to avoid this war and reach an agreement.

If this is true, Trump is the most impotent bitch of a leader imaginable. He's allowing one side of a war, who clearly wants to drag us in, to lie about our involvement while not correcting the record.

Either way, Trump has betrayed MAGA and every principle of America First. He is no longer worthy of any of our support. He probably never was.

BREAKING: Donald Trump reportedly wondered aloud if he should resign because his trade deals are going nowhere, inflation is still bad, he's floundering on Ukraine, the Israelis ruined his Iran Deal, and millions more people protested him today than came to D.C. and his tariff bluffs were called by the entire world, and his economic policies are crippling existing industries instead of fostering new ones, and the House budget bill is a surprisingly unpopular clusterfuck, and he's got bribee's remorse on the expensive Qatari plane, and he's finally a real billionaire cause of all his crypto grifts, but he can't enjoy it cause he has to live in the White House, and sit through the boring Fox News style briefings Tulsi Gabbard nags him to watch, and he has FOMO cause all the other dictators have way more fun.

Once Trumpy declared we knew nothing about it (via little Marco) I knew definitively that we were fully involved.
