Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, October 12, 2025

"Every night for weeks we are forced to listen to the threatening rhythm of helicopter blades as the federal regime spies on us. The only limit power knows is our refusal to submit. This Saturday, October 11th, you are invited to fight back. All you need is a laser. Leave home " they can see where the laser is coming from. Go to a park, a field, or some other public place, and once the clock strikes 9 unleash your beam at the cop copter. Mask up. Coordinate with friends to throw a laser party! Let's take back the night together! It won't take many of us to ground the helicopters!" Volunteers were instructed to mask up, coordinate with others, and take steps to avoid identification: Clean laser pointers with alcohol, wear gloves, and remove potential DNA traces before disposal. Over the weekend, Portland police wrongfully arrested an independent journalist during an anti-ICE demonstration: 'X'.

These helicopters SHOULD NOT BE FLYING in the first place.

Neither should there be troops on the streets of American cities.

This is tyranny.

Not only highly illegal, it dangerous to the pilots in the short term due to disorientation CFIT, but long term being unable to fly again.

They all do that.
They're all cowards.
They only have strength in numbers.

It's a herd mentality over there. Not a free thinker among them. Best example of this was the Republican debate in 2016 when they asked Republicans who believe in evolution to raise their hands. A few did, but quickly pulled their hands back down when they saw they were in a minority.

When domestic terrorists are using anti-aircraft weapons against US personnel, is that not possibly grounds for a military response?

Enlighten me as how people are being provoked to lase helicopters. Are those helicopters a threat to life, limb, or eyesight? Those are the traditional threats that permit lethal defense.

I can promise you that a laser is a threat to eyesight. Maybe these helicopters need to start carrying gunners.

While I am not condoning any of it if you are using helicopters against civilian populations as an "aircraft weapon" you should fully expect expect those civilians to eventually come up with an anti-aircraft weapon.

U.S. federal agents have used Black Hawk helicopters and other military-style tactics during immigration enforcement operations in civilian areas, leading to accusations of treating cities like "war zones". Critics describe these actions as using intimidation and fear against the public.

If you want to create an atmosphere of war and fear in American cities then that's what you will get.

US Law Enforcement Helicopters are unarmed.

Let me ask you this, if Russia were to lase a US helicopter, would that be OK? How about ISIS? Just write it off as a function of provocation?

Think about it.

I do not take issue with using whatever resources you need to catch criminals. I do, however, take issue with using military equipment and tactics against innocent civilians.

The innocent mothers and children in that apartment building who were dragged out of their homes separated from their families and zip tied naked and tossed into a van had committed no crimes.

One just crashed near a beach in Huntington Ca.

If one had crashed into that apt building in the middle of the night a lot of people could have died.

Helicopters can be extremely dangerous.

Do they think the chopper will land automatically?

It will crash and likely into someones home.

The idea is stupid.

I have.

Like I said. I don't condone what either side is doing.

But of you use a military aircraft aggressively as weapons against civilians you are an idiot if you don't think those civilians will at some point respond accordingly and aggressively.

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Science!

Also there is this:

Pilots can and do wear eye protection against laser attacks, using specialized eyewear that blocks dangerous laser light while maintaining visibility for flying. These glasses are a standard procedure for many military and some civilian pilots, especially during critical phases of flight like takeoff and landing, and are designed to protect against the bright, distracting effects of high-powered lasers.

It's not like they are defenseless against laser attacks.

Science!

I get opposition to enforcing established immigration law - deportation falls into that. Peaceful protest. Messaging. Reaching out to congressional reps. That's how real change occurs in this country. Burning shit down, assaulting government agents, "lasering", assassinations, etc are vile and contemptible acts that should provoke maximum legal penalties.
