Pentagon orders States to Form 'quick reaction forces' for 'crowd control'

A top US military official has ordered the national guards of all 50 US states, the District of Columbia and US territories to form "quick reaction forces" trained in "riot control", including use of batons, body shields, Tasers and pepper spray, according to an internal Pentagon directive reviewed by the Guardian.

"Janessa Goldbeck, a former US Marine Corps captain and chief executive of the Vet Voice Foundation, a non-profit advocacy group, said the order represented "an attempt by the president to normalize a national, militarized police force".

She predicted that force would be used to send troops to states led by Democratic governors without their permission and could be used to suppress turnout and disrupt the fair operation of elections.

In a worst-case scenario, she said, "the president could declare a state of emergency and say that elections are rigged and use allegations of voter fraud to seize the ballots of secure voting centers".".

That should be enough for the Food Riots alone. He'll have to send in the real military when the Epstein Files are released.

Donald is looking forward to the elections next year. He's either going to steal the results, and there will be massive civil unrest. Or he's going to react to an honest outcome that goes against him, and there will be civil unrest.

Donald Trump will kill Americans, a lot of them, rather than allow unrest against him.

Now that is why Trump doesn't want early and vote by mail! He wants to disrupt the voting process in heavily blue districts. Blue states should be making it easier to vote by mail and to have even more early voting.

Doesn't 500 troops times 50 states=25,00 troops? Two divisions that can be actually allocated to any one state?

Trump is specifically thinking of California, Illinois, and New York.

I suspect a majority of National Guard have done at least one tour in hostile environments. What could go wrong transitioning from killing or defending against combatants to 'crowd control.' We saw a bit of that when Gov. Walz deployed the Guard in the Twin Cities during the George Floyd unrest.

Pretty obvious this administration is planning something which they believe will cause thousands of people to react to by rioting! Most of us don't know what that might be but I feel pretty sure it will signal that Trump is declaring dictatorial powers not granted to Presidents because of some "Trumped-up" emergency of his making. I could be wrong but I have more faith in our National Guard than he does; it's doubtful that they will ignore the Constitution to carry out the orders of a feeble old man with crazy visions of grandeur in his senile brain.
