"Marjorie Taylor Greene, now just days away from stepping down as a congresswoman for Georgia, has said in her latest mea culpa interview that she "was just so naive" for believing that Donald Trump was a man of the people.

Greene said the Epstein files represented "everything wrong with Washington" and said it was a story of "rich, powerful elites doing horrible things and getting away with it. And the women are the victims".

After meeting with victims, she claimed, Trump called her and yelled "my friends will get hurt" if the files were released.

In the interview, Greene said that she had been wrong to accuse Democrats of treason. She acknowledged that she is now a political outcast from both sides of the political divide."

This vid goes over the original NYT article @6 mins in:

She says that she asked Trump to invite Epstein victims to the WH, but he told her that, "they had done nothing to deserve the honor."

Nah, she was just fine with going along with it so long as it was convenient and profitable for her.

Same as Elise Stefanik.

I think MTG is growing as a person.

I Think her resigning from Congress is a mistake on her part.

She would be an asset if she turns on Trump Completely and is still Reelected.

Stranger things have happened.

The example of that alone would hasten Trump's political Demise....Bigly.

She believed that wildfires were started by space lasers and that the Sandy Hook and Parkland shootings were staged by the government. She's a very stupid person who is easily misled. She has no business being in Congress.

Some Trumpers appear to be on the verge of figuring out that Trump45 and Trump47 aren't just Spinoff TV series from The Apprentice... and that the lead actor might really be having an impact on their lives and their country.

Not in a good way; he's a reflection of their prejudices, racism, bigotry, misogyny, and a number of other irrational fears.

I know several Trump "true believers".

Most are not stupid in a general sense.

They worship successful cruelty and Violence.

It's a character flaw, Not Stupidity in many cases.

Some of the Trumpies I know are "Good People" if you're White and they like you. I would trust them with almost anything.

Kinda like the Tribe,if you're Kosher, then you're Equal, and its a "Vibrant Democracy".

If you're Not...

The Claws come out.

Up to and including Genocide and War.

In my view...

Pres Trump (and his puppet masters, a.k.a. the Project 2025 folk, et al) had the four years of the Biden administration to take a step back, analyze what went wrong in Trump 1.0 and arrive at a better plan for Trump 2.0.

First step, eliminate the guard rails, and only appoint officials more loyal to Pres Trump than loyal to the Constitution.

" Miss Squeaky Fromme"

Interesting: we still remember her name, even though the assassination attempt was over forty years ago.

Meanwhile, 14 months ago, someone shot at Trump, and I doubt anyone reading this can name the guy without looking it up.

#19- not really surprising, considering she has a much more peculiar name, was already somewhat of a celebrity, and had numerous pop culture references to her afterwards (SNL, books, movies, musicals).

Plus, the person she attacked was Gerald Ford, and you're not.

While Malicious Toad Gangrene (MTG) was right about the need to pass legislation to fund Obamacare (ACA) and sinister AIPAC influence in Congress which green lights ethnic cleansing in Gaza and the West Bank, she nevertheless is one of the reasons why our country is mired in the ditch.

A multimillionaire with a robust congressional pension and a fortune worth $25m who helped, aided, and abetted the MAGA cause for years now demands sympathy from her many victims after supposedly "learning a lesson."

Uh-huh.

Here is your sympathy, young lady.

Probably because he shot at the audience, not Trump.

And people know that deep down, even if it's not explicitly acknowledged.
