3 min vid, but full text:

"That is not the way Donald Trump operates. The US Constitution is not going to stop him. And if you think it will, ask yourself this question.

10 years ago, could you have imagined a president tearing down part of the White House in order to build himself a ballroom that he wanted? A president threatening to take Greenland by force unless they agreed to sell it to us.

A president acting like our allies are our enemies and our enemies are our allies. A president adding his own name onto places like the Kennedy Center. A president having tanks roll down the streets of Washington DC.

A president calling the free press the enemy of the people because he didn't like their coverage of him. A president calling into doubt a presidential election because he didn't win.

A president who demanded loyalty oaths not to the US Constitution but to him personally. A president who would brazingly enrich his own family by selling access to the Oval Office. A president who treats Canada as if it was an adversary on the other side of the world.

A president who would accept a luxury airliner as a gift from another country.

And I could go on and on with examples. But Donald Trump has already done many things that we never ever would have guessed any president would do, and he has already shown that he has no regard for the Constitution.

So when we see him post all this stuff about a third term, he is not just trolling. He is deadly serious and so are many hardcore Trump politicians. He's going to run for a third term and one way or another they're going to make sure he wins."

It should be the Vikings. They were on North American soil hundreds of years before Columbus stumbled on the Caribbean.

Vikings landed in North America, specifically at L'Anse aux Meadows in Newfoundland, Canada, exactly in 1021 AD. Led by Leif Erikson, they established a short-lived settlement nearly 500 years before Christopher Columbus. This precise date was determined by analyzing tree rings on wooden artifacts, which showed they were cut in 1021.

Good point, AU.

The Vikings didn't stay long as they had no weapons superiority to the locals.

The melee battles caused too many casualties for re-supply ships to replace them all the way from Scandinavia.

The Spaniards came later with firearms, horses, and disease further to the south.

I don't think the Vikings accidentally introduced any contagion.

A statue of a family of dead First Americans spread out at the feet of a grinning Pilgrim goober with an axe in one hand and a still-smoking .50-caliber wheellock in the other might be more appropriate.

I was pointing out the Vikings discovered America, not Columbus, who's given credit for something he didn't actually do.

He would love a third term....

He's raking in billions selling crypto scams, pardons, merch and straight up bribes.

He's protected from being prosecuted as a------------.

He's protected from his stealing classified documents.

He's blowing through $3,000,000 in taxpayer money golfing every weekend.

Most importantly he is the center of attention which is priceless for him which ends when his term is over.

He will try everything he can to stay in office and the includes a coup (again).

The GOP will cowardly back whatever he does.

The only hope we have is the courts which so far have held him in check.

'And yet many many people, especially on the left, do not believe him. They simply say, "Well, that's not possible according to the US Constitution. Therefore, he's not going to try."'

Does anyone here know anyone who's actually said this, especially on the left? Honestly, I'd be surprised.

"Or even if he does try, it's not going to work."

Last time he did it in a half-assed way to try to maintain plausible deniability and portray himself as the victim afterwards. Of course, he's been a lot more aggressive in with his second term compared to his first. It's something people should take seriously, but at this point, 2.5 years out, it's basically just a distraction to divert attention away from other things.

A lot of people think that there are limits to what he'll try, even with all the evidence against that.

Well, obviously you know best. I mean, he really does need more distractions, eh?

Taking DJT seriously as a threat to the nation isn't being distracted, it's being more careful after learning lessons of the recent past.

After all this time, you still haven't figured out his MO. He's dictating to you which things to focus your energy on in the present moment, even though there's nothing you can do right now about something that might happen in 2028 (if he's even still around by then).

You've posted this same idiom for years, and it's just as nonsensical as ever.

There's much that can be done now to effect the outcome of both the mid-terms and the General.

I know you like to think you are brighter than everyone else having fingered out his MO when few other have, but that's just not the case.

We all know that much of what he does is Distraction from his criminal scams past and present, but we take that into account in determining what we should do... one of those things being to point out that these Distractions can also be part of the Plan.... like running for a third term.

OK, this may be news to many here, but I look forward to January 20, 2029 when I see a fmr Pres Trump carrying boxes of his belongings out of the White House.

But ... will I ever see that?

I'm at the 50-50 level at this point.

That aside, I do want to say that back in the summer of 2016 I posted a comment here on this most august site.

That comment warned that Mr Trump, while winning the RNC nomination, may not be good for the Country.

Why did I say that? Mostly because I knew of Mr Trump since the late-1980's, early 1990's, being a resident of the NYC area.

So....

How did my warning turn out?

@#15 ... We all know that ..

When I see a comment that seems to profess what is mentioned in the comment as what ~we all know,~ my first thought is to just dismiss the comment.

Idiots who vote for Stein and Nader are why America is in such a pickle, with this lying dotard in the WH.

Republicans see voters like that as gullible suckers.

That's why it's so funny!

The Nader/Stein-ophiles handed the White House to the GOP in 2000 so we could have 8 years of Dubbya, who did exactly the opposite of anything they would want. And then they decided to do it again in 2016, giving the office to Trump who was about 10 times worse than Dubbya. And then they did it again in 2024.

I'm crossing my fingers for a four-peat! Our cup runneth over with idiocracy!

Reminds me of the day I "discovered" Saturn.

I had just bought a Celestron and set it up on the deck to see what I could see. I looked at the bright stars but they were all just dots. Then I discovered Saturn! It made me wonder what it must have been like for the Galileo to be the first human to ever see something like that. That musta been one hell of a dopamine hit.

Seeing Saturn through a telescope is an unforgettable experience. Spiritual even.

From a political point ilof view, it's important to understand why such a thing was seen as an existential threat by the Church.

And that many religious extremists still view science that way. Like the difference between Sex and Gender.

Sometimes you wonder, even at his advanced age and declining mental capacities, is Trump just ------ with us?

Half of me says yes, but another half could see if saying he deserves a third term because of how unfairly he's been treated in both his first and second terms (esp if there's a blue onslaught in the midterms that makes his life just completely miserable).

And the even crazier thing is - there are Congress people who would try to make it happen.

Isn't wrong; it's making the 'perfect' the enemy of the good enough. Or cutting off one's nose to spite one's face.... or whatever other aphorisms one wants to use.

I'm not privy to Censored's motivations for what he says... although I wouldn't want to stand between he and Coriolanus if they were armed!

Arguably, bible talked about 'the expanding universe' several millennia prior to science doing so.

Therein lies the problem - SOMETHING THAT MIGHT HAPPEN?

Why is it even a consideration? Why should someone like Mike Lee of UT immediately shoot it down.

Oh, I wonder why? Congress is complicit. Just like they were in Jan 6.

Spite/nose/face is nail on the head.

My motivation is making plain the stupidity of self-described progressives who keep handing elections to the GOP, people who mean them and their causes harm. Rumor has it that there are even trans folks out there who helped elect Trump, and then are displeased when Trump's SCOTUS allows states to take away their driver licenses.

At this point, all I can do is enjoy the show, because Flying Spaghetti Monster knows that these intellectual giants are never going to learn from their mistakes.
