Over Half of Americans Negatively View Trump's DC Makeover

Nearly two-thirds of Americans feel "dissatisfied" or "upset" with President Donald Trump's projects remaking the look of Washington, according to a new poll from The Washington Post released on Thursday.

The Post's poll found that 65 percent of American adults surveyed have a negative view of the president's projects -- the new White House ballroom, a proposed triumphal arch and renovation of the Reflecting Pool -- with 38 percent of Americans saying they are "upset" about the projects and 27 percent were "dissatisfied."

Less than half of that total percentage viewed the projects in a positive light, with 12 percent being "enthusiastic" and 19 percent "satisfied."

Over half of those surveyed said Trump had a "different goal," other than making "Washington more beautiful."

Of the 51 percent who said the president has a different goal, 42 percent of that group said the president was trying to "glorify himself/vanity/ego." Twenty-two percent said Trump wants to "leave his mark/name on Washington/U.S./history." ...

Trump's America is like a dying mall. No matter how much you spend on polishing the turd it can't survive when the shops can't afford the rent, the people can't afford to buy anything from the shops and the food court is on fire.

I think Trump's makeover is simple vandalism. I think he's doing these things for the same reasons any callow, teen-aged vandal does: to show his hate towards others and what they value and to get attention any way that he can.

The joint is starting to resemble those downright odd plans they found sketched out with a Sharpie on bathroom sanitary napkins strewn across the scabrous Las Vegas Strip suite where Trump swore he and the ghosts of Rip Taylor, Paul Lynne, Liberace, and Walter Mercado covfefeed with the shade of Pierre L'Enfant to create, as Trump put it during his initial post-takedown interview at the station, "Something Jeffrey Epstein would be proud of. Like a big, fluffy cake. Made of Frenchedfries and whipped cream sprinkled with gold dust and naked teenage girls - oh, almost forgot - and Arnold Palmer's penis. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

Once our strong man-adjacent potus packs his Gucci carpetbags and slithers back to Mar-a-Largo, I'd like for someone to tally up just how much of our money he spent on all his vanity projects and foreign adventures. Then there's the part of me that thinks finding that out will make my wrinkly old jaw drop.

That sums up his DC makeover ambitions in a nutshell.

Trump can't help adding reasons for more and more Americans to continue turning against him. In my opinion, there isn't much he can really do to stop a tsunami of a blue wave. He can't stop it even with ICE or the NG. He continues to add reasons to lose support. He'll have to share the spotlight with congressional committees investigating his misdeeds, Iran, insider trading, nefarious nepotism, profiteering, and so much more.

I have a prediction:

In 2006, there were lines of dozens of people standing in the pouring rain at my precinct, and a nationwide record turnout of voters eager to give George Bush a baby sitter. Congress flipped decisively, primarily to protest his FUBAR Iraq war.

Trump? If we start with Iran and keep adding the many other reasons a considerable majority of Americans strongly disapprove of Trump. I predict voting will break records in protest of Trump and Trumpism, and January will be the beginning of the end of Trump and MAGA His many misdeeds will be the subject of many investigations - from Epstein to Iran, profiteering, etc etc - that'll blanket the news until he's gone. A far more diminished lame duck than Bush.
