You're looking for the wrong flex... I mainly posted it because we had a president who couldn't be held accountable for his mishandling of classified documents because of his failing mind - recognizable back as far as 2016.

He technically could have been held accountable, but the President gets an extremely wide berth for actions taken in furtherance of the Office of the President, like bringing some files home for work.

I mean seriously, what are you suggesting is an appropriate penalty here?

But hasn't the Supreme Court since legislated this from the bench? I thought a President couldn't be held accountable for this now. At least that's what Trump's lawyers argued.

That a president may have classified documents among the stuff he collects and removes after his tenure doesn't bother me. What bothers me is how that president reacts when it's found out.

One tried to hide it. One has been criminally charged.

Were they documents he had been given or documents he stole?

Did he return them when asked?

Did several Russians meet with him in private while he had those files?

Is it wrong for people who were/ are presidents, Vice presidents or members of Congress to keep classified documents at their home?

To answer your question specifically. Yes. It is wrong.

Classified information is strictly meant to be reviewed within secure skiffs, designated rooms in the Capitol or congressional offices"never in a personal residence. Removing and storing classified papers at a home address violates the rules governing the handling of national security information.
