In the grand jury report, which remains sealed but was obtained and published by CBS News Miami on Wednesday, the grand jurors wrote that "we conclude that these funds were misappropriated as part of a sophisticated scheme to fund political activities" but said that they found "insufficient evidence to charge anyone criminally".

A Florida grand jury has found that the administration of the governor, Ron DeSantis, "misappropriated" $10m in taxpayer money from a Medicaid settlement into the Hope Florida Foundation, a charity with ties to DeSantis's wife, before the money was reportedly "funneled" into "two political action committees".

How did DOGE miss this fraud?

I remember when fraud in Minnesota was the end of the world for republicans and they demanded Walz's head.

Now there's literal proof of and conviction for fraud committed by DeSantis and its crickets.

Just another reason why I never take conservative hysteria seriously.

More corrupt Republicans? Yawn. At this point I just assume every Republican politician is corrupt. The numbers increasingly seem to bear that out.

@#1 ... How did DOGE miss this fraud? ...

Maybe because it may have been committed by a MAGA politician?

Why do Republicans seem so keen on electing frauds and thieves?

"Winning" means being complete hypocrites and looking the other way when someone on their team does something egregiously wrong, while making $#!+ up and exaggerating bigly about the Democratic Party

And soon, one expects, the greatest con of them all will take place, Trump will resign so that his VP at the time can automatically rise to the Presidency and as the Republican Party hack did for Nixon, pardon Trump for each and every of his unlawful grifts and grabs, including war crimes that involved murder...from the high seas to Iranian leaders.
No one is in charge of this country, but there are gangsters out there grabbing for everything that isn't nailed down, as happens in a falling empire.

I stopped taking political hysteria seriously a couple of decades ago.

Conviction for fraud? They can't even charge someone with a crime.

It's sort of "well, it's all wrong...but there isn't much we're going to do about it" Pretty ------- weaksauce.

Medicare and Medicaid fraud is horrible.

"We conclude that these funds were misappropriated as part of a sophisticated scheme to fund political activities"
~ Snoofy

But you forgot the portion that said there was no crime? An equivocation meant to-get you all hot and bothered.

Is misappropriation a crime? If it is why didn't the grand jury indict? If its not then what are we complaining about exactly?

Also I thinks great they are looking for fraud and waste, especially in Florida. But this is the first time, Snoofy, Redial, Donorbot have seemed to care about it, or support it...

Why is that?

Your outrage has nothing to do with not helping kids, or homelessness or the poor, but that its your political rival and you've completely lost any sense of rational thought, ignoring the massive problem America faces, framed it as a political hit job..

Has anyone in this case been convicted of fraud? So what are you taking about?

If a FL judge tossed out the juries verdict on $10M would you be upset? You would, but not for the reason you think.
Its not because of the fraud that would be upset, hell you probably don't even pay federal income taxes.
Its that it was DeSantis administration.

Where as myself, if someone is convicted of fraud and the judge tosses it out, its upsetting as a taxpayer.

No matter what the political persuasion of the offender is.

Even if they did, it wasn't illegal, raetard.

Here's a clue, find an actual crime and prosecute it.

Misappropriation isn't a crime?

That's funny, especially considering how, and your fellow MAGAts, wanted Walz's head over accusations of fraud in Minnesota.

Of course that was fueled by xenophobia and racism.

Whereas this is just some white guys stealing money.

We think of a "crime" in terms of individuals being prosecuted rather than an administration misappropriating funds.

If DeSantis were a Black kid in a hoodie you would have shot him by now.

In regards to "proof", that's what Trials are for.

I am looking forward to the governor figting for his freedom prior to imprisonment.

As Lumpers claim in the case of MN, that's not a crime.

We think of a "crime" in terms of individuals being prosecuted rather than an administration misappropriating funds.

I'd like to think misappropriating government funds would also be a "crime" if prosecuted and found guilty.

Until then ...

White people "misappropriate."

Black people "steal."

"Republican candidate for governor good-for-no-one Byron Donalds is brushing aside calls from his Democratic opponent to open a new investigation into how the corrupt Ron DeSatan (R) junta used the state's Hope Florida charity to divert millions of dollars from a Medicaid settlement into a campaign to defeat recreational marijuana."

~snip~

Link: Florida and Texas are the two worst run states in Amerikkka

And Florida Governor Ron DeSatan's (R) pederast pal Mike Caruso (R) -- accused of child rape and kidnapping --inexplicably made bail.

Hey, Floridians! Hide your children from Byron Donalds (R) and Mike Caruso (R).

All these administrations discovered there was a misappropriation of minors.

Other than Epstein and Maxwell, no other criminals have been found.

But, damn, you'd think with all the evidence, somebody else was involved.

Two people couldn't have committed all the crimes themselves!

It's like the pimp and hooker were found guilty but nothing else to see here.

Again, it's an accusation without an arrest or prosecution. Or maybe it's just an accusation without merit.

And the people on that grand jury just tarnished their name, because either they are lying, or they're admitting they are willing to let it slide.

Either way, people are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court, not by what some news article says.
