I though Pres Trump had said that it would not be possible to bring Mr Garcia back to the US?

And, now the Trump admin should do the same for all the others who were deported without due process.

"transporting undocumented migrants within the U.S."

Is that even a crime?

If so, a lot of bus drivers and airline pilots are criminals.

Wouldn't it be funny if his legal team rolled into court and was populated by a large group of legal studs, each aching to take on the clown posse of DOJ hacks and know-nothing lawyers fresh out of Trump University? I wouldn't be surprised if this poor guy (called so because of the unlawful, possibly tortuous manner in which he has been treated) gets some top-notch folks to step up and represent him pro bono...

What an exercise in stupidity is right.

All of Trump's waste, fraud, and abuse surrounding this case is costing the taxpayers tens if not hundreds of millions.

Laughing because Trumpy was caught in another lie?

He won't be deported until he faces charges and serves his sentence in an American prison ( if actually convicted). Which he obviously won't be because you know the charges are just more Trumpified BS. Now put up or shut up in a court of law under oath.

But hey. Welcome back to due process facist.

Baby steps.

Now what about the other three plane loads?? They obviously CAN be returned in accordance with the ruling of the Supreme Court and be allowed their due process rights.

How long will it take for enough Trump voters to realize that we are all screwed because of their decisions? He'll nuke New York and they'd still support him

Subjecting him to Due Process, as guaranteed by the Constitution and upheld unanimously (i.e., 9-0) by the Supreme Court is an exercise in stupidity?

How so?

Presidente Bukele smells blood in the water... and seeing what time of day it was... decided not to hitch his wagon to El Presidente Taco Anaranjado.

The "charges" are to save face.

My guess is with a good lawyer... (he has a strong support network in MD, DC, VA) they will ultimately be seen as he is guilty of having relatives from El Salvador... pppfffftttttt

@#18 ... The "charges" are to save face. ....

That's the way it looks.

These "charges" did not appear to have been ~discovered~ until after he was mistakenly deported.

I say mistakenly because the Trump admin has also said his deportation was a mistake.

Judge orders return of wrongly deported Maryland man to US from El Salvador (April 2025)
www.reuters.com

... A U.S. judge ruled on Friday that the Trump administration must return a Maryland man who was wrongly deported to El Salvador to the United States within three days, the latest legal setback for the administration's hardline deportation policies.

The U.S. has already acknowledged Kilmar Abrego Garcia -- a Salvadoran migrant who lived in the U.S legally with a work permit -- was deported in error last month ...

And, as a follow-up ...

How many of those who were deported to that prison, without Due Process, might have been deported illegally?

Why doesn't the law and order GOP seem to care?

So Donnerboy is to go to bat for a human trafficker and domestic abuser now?

The "charges" are to save face.

My guess is, because the evidence is so egregious.

How many of those who were deported to that prison, without Due Process, might have been deported illegally?

Do you not pay attention to SCOTUS rulings and the evidence presented? They all had "due process", the only question was how much "process is due" under AEA.

A work permit isn't authorization to be in the US legally.

A "work permit" isn't even a thing it is a mashup of two things.

Work Visa and Employment Authorization Document.

What is the difference between a U.S. Work Visa and an Employment Authorization Document (EAD)?

If that evidence is so egregious, why was it not presented in a Court of Law before he was deported, and he allowed to counter the evidence?

And why did that evidence only seem to have been discovered after he was deported?

Dems never miss a chance to waste US taxpayer money.

Trump spent 6 million to deport 238 people to El Salvador.

That's over 25,210 per person.

He's spent 26 million of taxpayer money on his golf junkets.

He's going to spend 25-45 million for his birthday parade.

Take a hearty helpin' of Shut Da Fug Up.

No one believes your BS except equally ignorant TrumpaLosers.

Republicans are happy to pay taxes for this, because it punishes their enemies.

Just like they were happy to borrow money for a war in Iraq.

Americans could owe $6.5 trillion for wars in Afghanistan and Iraq " and that's just the interest

Abrego Garcia, mistakenly deported, is returned to US to face migrant smuggling charges
www.reuters.com

... Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the man mistakenly deported from Maryland to El Salvador by the Trump administration, was flown back to the United States to face criminal charges of transporting illegal immigrants within the U.S., Attorney General Pam Bondi said on Friday.

Abrego Garcia's return marks a turning point in a case that became a flashpoint for critics of President Donald Trump's aggressive immigration policies, who pointed to it as a sign that the administration was disregarding civil liberties in its push to step up deportations. ...
