Consumer prices rose in June as President Donald Trump's tariffs began to slowly work their way through the U.S. economy.[image or embed]

Yep. In the summer of 1961. It all started in a Kenyan lab hidden in the back room of a pizzeria. Remember that? Yeah like it was yesterday. A young child born in a manger to young American girl and Saddam Hussein's nephew in exchange for some yellow cake P-tapes. Unfortunately... one young Peace Corp communist party volunteer Hillary Rodham found super duper uuuper uuuuuper secret documents with a box in a closet... in Mira Lardo golf where... nothing happened... nothing happened... but Trump is the best golfer there... she would later transcribe some data... we don't know what kind of data... but there was data... onto her email server... causing innumerable deaths in Benghazi... a lot of deaths... deaths unlike the likes of which... before being bleached onto Hunter Biden's laptop in Russia by his senile father...

That is how we got here today.

Running 3 month core inflation is now at 2.0% annualized and running 4 month is at 1.8%. We are still at or below the Fed targets and the 'tariff inflation' still is not seen in the overall numbers. The bigger impacts on core inflation were on shelter and medical services - which have nothing to do with tariffs.

Overall, inflation is very low and once again, liberals waiting for the massive tariff inflation that never turns up.

I have never had a strong opinion on the pee tape. Was that a claim in the Steele Dossier?

"You still believe that Trump had Putin get him elected so that Trump could build a hotel in Moscow and in exchange Trump would let Putin run this country."
That's far too detailed a plot for me to have a strong opinion. But I absolutely believe Trump would accept help from anyone who offered to get him elected, and as a transactional thinker, Trump would be expected to provide something in exchange. Like the way he appointed Dan Bongino to the FBI after Dan Bongino helped get Trump elected.

Anyway, what was in the Steele Dossier, and how much of it was true, false, or TBD?

"shutting down the border"

"and 2M more native born workers employed"
That was a net loss of 0.5M jobs compared to Biden over the same timeframe.
So that's also the same things as "tear down the Left."

"highest real wage growth in 60 years"
That's called "inflation" and now you're giving Trump credit for it.
It's safe to say the "inflation" part is yet another example of Republicans doing everything they can to "tear down the Left." And the middle, and the right. Anything is fair game, so long as it tears down the left.

US consumer prices pick up in June; underlying inflation still tame
www.reuters.com

... Consumer Price Index increases 0.3% in June.

Core CPI rises 0.2%; advances 2.9% on year-over-year basis.

June could mark the start of tariff-induced price rises.

U.S. consumer prices increased by the most in five months in June amid higher costs for some goods, suggesting tariffs were starting to have an impact on inflation and potentially keeping the Federal Reserve on the sidelines until September.

Despite the pick-up in the Consumer Price Index reported by the Labor Department on Tuesday, underlying inflation remained moderate last month, with prices for new and used motor vehicles lower relative to May.

Services like airline fares as well as hotel and motel rooms were also cheaper in June. ...

Food prices rose 0.3%, matching the increase in May. Grocery store prices also advanced 0.3%, lifted by a 1.4% increase in the costs of nonalcoholic beverages and 2.2% jump in coffee prices. Fruits and vegetables cost 0.9% more while beef prices jumped 2.0%. But eggs were 7.4% cheaper as an avian flu outbreak abated. ...

Household furnishings and supplies prices shot up 1.0% after climbing 0.3% in May. Prices for appliances surged 1.9% while the cost of apparel rebounded 0.4%. Sporting goods prices accelerated 1.4% while toys vaulted 1.8%. ...

Owners' equivalent rent of primary residence rose 0.3%, but the cost of hotel and motel rooms declined 3.6%. Airline fares dipped 0.1%. The costs of services excluding energy services increased 0.3% after gaining 0.2% in May. ...

"How about shutting down the border, how many illegals crossed in June of 2024 vs 2025?"

How many illegals were in taxpayer funded detention in June 2024 vs 2025?
If you have a way of demonstrating financial upside to the taxpayers from Trump's immigration actions, please share it with us.
You don't have that.

"Homan is trying to deport them"

No, Homan is trying to detain them.

They could be deported immediately. There's nothing stopping it. Don't you remember the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia and hundreds of others to El Salvador?

Americans will be fooled again.

That's what's "scary".

Why do you think the cuts to Medicare won't take effect until AFTER the midterms.

To fool Americans. Again.

No Kings!

Hey TACO man ... this is NACHO kingdom!

Looks to me like we are in a transition period...

The old reasons for inflation seem to be diminishing, e.g., new and used autos, travel expenses (lodging, air fares, etc).

While goods affected by tariffs seem be having a growing effect upon inflation, e.g., household furnishings and supplies, appliances, apparel, footware, etc.

But he cannot acknowledge the truth of what's happening.
His answer is always going to be, for the rest of his life: "Liberals"

Biden cared enough that inflation was lower post COVID in the United States compared to the rest of the modern world.

It's you who doesn't care about inflation.

Its you who doesn't understand tariffs cause inflation.

Trump tariffs push up inflation despite pressure on Fed to cut rates
www.politico.com

... The White House has been trumpeting the absence of tariff-related price hikes as a sign that the president's agenda is succeeding.

Inflation rose in June as President Donald Trump's tariffs began to push up the prices of certain goods, undermining his attempts to pressure Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell to lower interest rates.

The Consumer Price Index increased at an annual rate of 2.7 percent, after rising 2.4 percent in May, as the impact of taxes on imports started to become visible at checkout. While housing prices -- as well as volatile food and energy prices -- contributed heavily to the uptick, tariff-sensitive products like apparel and household furnishings also reported sizable gains. Core inflation, which excludes food and energy costs, rose at an annual rate of 2.9 percent. ...

"Since Biden handed Trump the worst economy in the history of the country, yes, we are still recovering from it. We may never fully recover from what Biden did, so I would expect to see more inflation in the future. It is so sad what he did to us."
