Detransitioner wins $2M medical malpractice lawsuit

A Westchester County Supreme Court jury on Thursday found psychologist Dr. Kenneth Einhorn and plastic surgeon Dr. Simon Chin liable for malpractice in Varian's 2019 surgery. The award includes $1.6 million for past and future pain and suffering, plus $400,000 for future medical costs. Varian's mother had consented amid fears of suicide, but testimony highlighted rushed evaluations. The case reflects rising lawsuits by detransitioners amid U.S. state bans and Europe's Cass Review questioning youth treatments.

Would you say deviation from the medical standard for gall bladder removal is as well defined as that of transitioning procedure?

I think the issue here is adults are old enough to fully comprehend and certainly legally authorized to make their own decisions.

This person was 16 and had a double mastectomy.

If a young person is talking about suicide, they need mental help.

The public has pushed back and now things like men in women's sports, men in women safe spaces and transing kids are now all swept under the rug as if it isn't still happening. The "trans" aspect is a coincidence. The central point is a pair of doctors didn't follow accepted medical procedures, and were successfully sued for it.

Concluding this is standard doctors' procedure means you either didn't read or didn't understand the lawsuit.

These doctors were literally sued for NOT following the normal protocol. Why are you pretending that IS the protocol???
