The Medal of Honor is the United States' highest award for military valor in action. And while over 150 years have passed since its inception, the meaning behind the Medal has never tarnished. Etched within are the very values that each Recipient displayed in the moments that mattered"bravery, courage, sacrifice, integrity. A deep love of country and a desire to always do what is right.

Piggy landed in a plane in Iraq.

Piggy is disgusting in countless ways.

But this is a singular vile act.

This belittles the sacrifices, sacrifices often ending in death, of those who chose to defend their country.

Any normal human being would respond with reverence and humility.

But, no, not our President.

Just another spit in the face of our country.

This man cannot die soon enough and rid the world of his stink.

Let him.

Then the majority of the military will turn on him and we can finally get rid of his bloated, incompetent a&&.

Do civilians qualify for the MOH? Assuming they actually did something worthy enough for the recognition?

I've always understood it to be a combat award.

At minimum, it's a military award. POTUS is a civilian.

Agreed. Any notion that Trump should be a recipient is beyond stupid.

The Medal of Honor is a military award for military service. MAGAJesus, even in his Cadet Bone Spurs guise, does not qualify.

But he will, if previous obnoxious behavior is any indicator of present/future performance (and make no mistake: it most definitely is), this goon will coat himself in gold. He's dumb, in steep mental decline, and undergoing narcissistic meltdown. And you can be sure he never heard of Roman real estate mogul Crassus who also thought he knew better than everyone else, tangled with the Parthians and found out that, in fact ... he didn't.

The US Medal of Honor is not one singular medal, like the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

There is a unique version of the MoH designed for each of the uniformed services: 1) US Army; 2) USAF (incl. US Space Force); and 3) USN (incl. USMC and USCG).

Which of the three versions would Dummkopf Trumpf award himself?

Good one, Doc Sarvis.

BTW: I'm enjoying Elmer Gantry (Sinclair Lewis, 1927).

The pre-Great Depression ethos in America's Midwest is something to behold and explains the power and influence of soul-mongers like William Jennings Bryan.

The rural-urban divide is also subtly laid out. "Go into town and meet the sinners and head for the farms to meet the saints."

He confessed to being a sex predator who targets underaged girls in that same interview you are referencing yet you still support him.

I don't support him. I think he's unfit for the office he serves. Having said that, we are stuck with him for 3 more years, so I deal with that reality.

#20 | Posted by jpw at 2026-04-21 02:38 PM | Reply

You NEED to believe I support him because most of you can't deal with any contrary opinion so dismissing what makes you uncomfortable as being a Trump supporter is how you all cope.

Yawn.

Sure. It's because you "disagree."

Not because you constantly defend, deflect and excuse...

" You NEED to believe I support him"

You keep pretending you don't ... all the way to the ballot box.

At least Tucker ADMITS he's partially responsible.

Strange that you lie and cover for someone you don't support at nearly every opportunity. Congressional elections are coming up. You could support candidates who would vote to impeach him so we wouldn't be stuck with him.

" I don't support him."

... until I get to the ballot box.

At least finish the sentence honestly.

Maybe FIFA can create their own version and hopefully present it to him posthumously.

So they can then vote to impeach Vance? The same people who supported Woodrow Wilson 2.0? Hard pass.

The Medal of Honor (MOH) is the highest military decoration of the United States Armed Forces and is awarded to recognize American soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, guardians, and coast guardsmen who have distinguished themselves by acts of valor. There are three distinct variants of the medal: one for the Department of the Army, awarded to soldiers; one for branches of the Department of the Navy, awarded to sailors, marines, and coast guardsmen; and one for military branches of the Department of the Air Force, awarded to airmen and guardians.

There are two distinct protocols for recommending and adjudicating the Medal of Honor. The first and most common is recommendation within three years and approval within five years through the chain of command of the service member. The second method, which normally applies outside of the statute of limitations, is when a recommendation is referred to a military service by a member of the U.S. Congress, generally at the request of a constituent under 10 U.S.C. 1130. In both cases, if the proposal is outside the time limits for the recommendation, approval to waive the time limit requires a special Act of Congress. The Medal of Honor is presented by the President on behalf of, and in the name of, the Congress. Since 1980, nearly all Medal of Honor recipients"or in the case of posthumous awards, the next of kin"have been personally decorated by the president. Since 1941, more than half of the Medals of Honor have been awarded posthumously.

Six U.S. Army soldiers who hijacked a Confederate locomotive named The General in 1862 were the first Medal of Honor recipients; James J. Andrews led the raid. He was caught and hanged as a U.S. spy, but as a civilian he was not eligible to receive the medal.

As with so many other of his actions and behaviors, Trump continually shows he has no respect for anyone or anything. He only sees people, institutions, and ideas for their direct value to him or their indirect value as a tool with which he can obtain something else of value. Lack of respect for others is a core feature in sociopaths.
