Thx for posting, Corky. The phrases victims use are formulae for warding off thoughtcrime: repeatedly murmuring "fake mews," garlic in a pocket to scare off the malocchio, spilled salt tossed over the shoulder, etc.

People who think in terms of "alternate facts" live in an alternate reality. Short, of a personal catastrophe - and even that of dubious effect - reaching them is a tough one, considering it wasn't smarts that got them there in the first place.

These Congress 'people', and I use the term loosely are intent on hanging onto their jobs and their sweet handouts and Golden Parachutes from Oligarchs and Corporations (again, I repeat myself)... but if the Speaker is having to shut down the House every other day because the Party in control can't get their sht together, it might get interesting.

What if you don't listen to Trump's speeches or read a lot of commentary?

What if you mostly read news and listen to people you know who are educated and well read?

He's making some very simplistic assumptions about people.
