Hegseth proudly ended the flu vaccine requirement for the military. Following this idiocy, only 40% of new trainees got vaccinated. There's now a flu outbreak at an AF facility. A new recruit has died, though it is not clear if it was from flu. Now, the flu vaccine is again required there.

More: At the time, many lawmakers, including some prominent Republicans, expressed puzzlement and dismay at Mr. Hegseth's decision.

"The reason it was mandatory was to enhance readiness," Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi, the chairman of the Armed Services Committee, said shortly after the new policy was announced.

"You know, you do give up certain rights when you take the oath," said Mr. Wicker, who is an Air Force veteran. "It's just part of it."

Under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), Secretary of War Crimes Pete Hogsbreath must immediately be court-martialed by a panel of Flag Officers for "rank dereliction of duty during time of war," a level of poor performance so deficient that it amounts to criminal misconduct -- not mere incompetence or lack of experience.

A major flu outbreak has sickened nearly 160 troops at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas

Curious ... There are 24,000 troops at Lackland, or 0.6% caught the flu ..... how is this "major"? Its less than the general population which is around 5-20%..

"how is this "major"?"

Actual Math.

And the lack of a flu shot mandate.

How do you not understand that 160 getting the flu at the same outpost isn't typical?!?
