President Trump said on Sunday that the U.S. Navy will begin blockading ships from entering or exiting the Strait of Hormuz and intercept vessels that have paid tolls to Iran, after marathon talks in Pakistan failed to yield an agreement to end the war. Mr. Trump also said he has instructed the Navy to "seek and interdict every vessel in International Waters that has paid a toll to Iran," and that the U.S. would begin "destroying the mines the Iranians laid in the Straits." "Any Iranian who fires at us, or at peaceful vessels, will be BLOWN TO HELL!" he added.

At least two vessels that have traversed the strait have paid Iran fees in Chinese yuan to guarantee safe passage, analysts from Lloyd's List Intelligence said in a recent report. Analysts wrote that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps "has imposed a de facto 'toll booth' regime in the Strait of Hormuz, requiring vessels to submit full documentation, obtain clearance codes and accept IRGC-escorted passage through a single controlled corridor." Iran has indicated that it might seek to impose a toll on all ships passing through the strait under a long-term peace deal.

Blockade and counter-blockade.
An escalation of the war.
If we can't have Hormuz, no one can have it.
This won't help Trump in the midterms.
But he expects to steal those, so...

He's like a toddler who didn't get what he wanted for his Bday; now he's going destroy everyone's toys.
Shady called him 12 times, and Nuttyahoo once, during the 21 hours... so he's just a mouthpiece with no authority to make decisions.
When will he and the Cabinet and or Congress spank this little bastard and put him to bed without his Micky Ds?

Extortion, blackmail and racketeering. It's Trump's lifelong modus operandi. Now it's US national policy and practice. Trump now going to extract tolls. Into his own pocket. That fat bastard should be locked in a large concrete basement with an elk. And the elk should be ram-fed full of acid before he's put in there. An angry, horny, acid-crazed elk. Trump is naked, and the elk is huge, maybe 800 plus. Elks can be ugly customers and once they're full of acid, and they're really horny, oh yeah, all night long!

In just about a month's time, Old Yeller is scheduled to make a barbarian's obeisance at the Celestial Pivot in Beijing China is the single largest importer of oil brought out from source via the Gulf of Hormuz (www.reuters.com). To please Xi, MAGAlewzer will need to come up with more than his usual performative grovel. A bit of gifting as gesture and gesture as gifting will be expected to mark the occasion.

I'm going to pretend that's a real question.
Enforcement of a naval blockade is not considered piracy as it is a lawful act under international law, provided it is conducted in accordance with established legal frameworks. Piracy, on the other hand, involves acts of robbery or violence at sea that are not authorized by any state.

A quick consultation with the machines indicates "piracy" is an act carried out by private parties.
A "privateer" is different, behaving piratically but operating with a "letter of marque" from a government. Think Sir Francis Drake. "Letters of marque and reprisal" have been and may still be issued by Congress under its Article 1 powers..

Re 8
I have recently re evaluated my understanding of the Pirates.
Pirates got a bad historical rap. (Mostly because they lost but also because they promoted the fear of pirates in the Golden Age to frighten their victims into not resisting thus saving pirate and civilian lives.)
Pirates during the "Golden Age of Piracy" (roughly 1650"1725) practiced and promoted several ideals that later became cornerstones of American democracy, such as egalitarianism, representation, and checks and balances. Operating outside the monarchical systems of Europe, they established, out of necessity, a "pirate democracy" that was, in some ways, more progressive than the society on land.

A "blockade" is an act of war. Which is why, during the Cuban Missile Crisis (1962) what JFK established was technically a "quarantine" rather than a "blockade," therefore not an act of war under international law.

No two ways about it. It's been Trump's s.o.p. for decades. The members of the Republican Party know exactly who they sold out to. Happy 250th.

Is it your opinion that Trump's blockade is being "conducted in accordance with established legal frameworks?"
Bonus points for Israel's naval blockade of Gaza!

#11 it is a serious question because this war is not in accordance domestic law, let alone international law.

Trump is a fucking retard who gives off the same energy as a kid who breaks his own toys so no one else can play with them.
America is a terrorist nation.
We're participating in a genocide and attacking sovereign nations without any justification.

Hi Snoofy:
An armada filled with unpaid volunteers is sailing to Gaza this month to try and break Israel's 17-year-long inhuman blockade of the enclave.
Greenpeace is joining them.
AIPAC Islamophobes and Israeli ethnic cleansers will condemn these Samaritans as "Hamas lovers," whatever that means.
Like they are sufferers of Tourette syndrome, they will bark "Hamas!" in chorus.
You'll see.

These are the type of tactics and confrontations that occur when bad people on every side have a face-off. Trump is a child with no moral boundaries. Iran's Republican Guard are really just an army of mass murdering fanatics. And Netayahu's government feels right at home joining in their bloody fun.
