Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Wednesday went as far as to suggest that the two measles deaths reported in Pennsylvania earlier this week may "have been altogether fabricated" by Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro's team.

BREAKING: Two people have died of measles in Pennsylvania, the state's health department has confirmed. Both people were unvaccinated. They are the first such deaths in the U.S. this year, and the first in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 35 years.

RFK Jr. said a Samoa trip had nothing to do with vaccines. New documents refute that
apnews.com

... Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. repeatedly told lawmakers who held the key to his confirmation last year that a 2019 visit to Samoa before a deadly measles outbreak had "nothing to do with vaccines."New documents obtained by The Associated Press and The Guardian refute that testimony.

Kennedy, then a prominent anti-vaccine activist, preceded the visit with a letter to the Samoan prime minister requesting to study the Pacific island nation's measles, mumps and rubella vaccines after the deaths of two children who had received them. In the letter, he used the words vaccine or vaccination eight times.

The letter raises questions about how truthful Kennedy was in testimony before Congress. During an arduous confirmation process where he needed the support of some skeptical Republican lawmakers to advance, Kennedy also pledged to maintain vaccine policies that, once in office, he moved to change.

"I am writing this letter to you in the hope that we might be helpful to the people of your great nation," Kennedy wrote, adding that he believed the deaths of the two children could have resulted from manufacturing issues.

"I would propose my team conduct detailed health informatics assessment in Samoa of what happened with your MMR vaccines," he continued. ...

I guess I take that to mean DOH doesn't report them, just investigate them when necessary. I'd imagine reporting requirements would be for the agency issuing the death certificate, ie hospital, assisted living facility ect.

One of the children had a ruptured spleen.

Which makes sense since a Measles infection can cause the spleen to become swollen, enlarged, or fragile, which may raise the risk of a tear or rupture.

Did you actually read the story stupid? My wife is a retired RN who was doing some coding work during COVID. They were told that if a patient who died had COVID but also had say a heart attack they needed to put down the cause of death as COVID. My wife was like WTF? This person or that person died of something totally unrelated to COVID. I checked who makes the coding rules and it was the World Health Organization who was pushing the vaccines on everyone. So yes, people will make measles political.

Dr. Debra Bogen, Pennsylvania's secretary of health, contested the validity of the claims made by Kennedy without naming the Trump official.

"As a pediatrician with more than 30 years of caring for children, I have thoroughly reviewed the case investigation information and sadly can confirm that there were two recent measles-associated deaths in Lancaster County, which were reported to the CDC's measles response team early Tuesday morning," she said in a statement.

I love how random topics come up on a regular basis and suddenly every idiot with fingers and a keyboard is now an expert on that topic.

Our resident lying pos knows more than the State's secretary of health, who happens to be a doctor and who has thoroughly reviewed the case files.

Oh you mean you couldn't just ask the AI?

Infant Case: A newborn tested positive for measles but died from a lacerated spleen. The county coroner stated the forensic pathologist determined measles was not the cause of death, though measles makes the spleen more vulnerable to rupture.

Second Case: No details have been released for the second individual, though the state confirmed they also tested positive for measles.

The infants had to get the measles from someone. Do you think that person was over 12 months old and unvaccinated, or is connecting those dots going to be too risky for you?

"The outbreak has resulted in 393 confirmed cases across 28 counties in Pennsylvania, with Lancaster County accounting for the majority of infections due to lower vaccination rates in local communities."

What do you think. Did these children that died get measles from a vaccinated or unvaccinated person?

Well at least you're capable of being honest about that.

"he was elected to stop the deaths "
I don't recall that campaign promise. Please show me that language in Biden's speeches or the Democratic Party Platform.

But if what you say is true:
Was Biden elected to force people to wear masks, force people to social distance, and force people to take vaccines?
Because those are the things that would have stopped the deaths.
Seems like you're blaming Biden, but not Trump, for not doing the things Trump could have done to stop the deaths.

#50 | Posted by snoofy at 2026-08-31 01:31 PM | Reply

Or had MAGA already unhitched from civilization and Trump just picked up on the political uses of barbarianism?

Either way, the United States could have gotten by with about 60.000 COVID deaths had there been no Trump/MAGA.

That's like saying a small fire grew larger, because a year passed without anyone making a sensible effort to control it.

And then blaming the guy who started making sensible efforts to control much larger fire, for starting the small fire.

Bobby Brainworm lies about EVERYTHING, including this whopper. He's also making the disproven claim that the MMR vaccine has fetal tissue in it. It doesn't. It has been proven that he lied at his confirmation hearing, hopefully Democrats hold him accountable, impeach him and prosecute him when they take back the WH in 2028. Like Dotard, he should die in prison for all the people his lies have killed. The fact is that 20% of measles sufferers have to be hospitalized, a not insignificant number. For many it a hell of a lot more than chicken soup and staying home from school.
