More from the article ...

... Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar (R-Fla.) forcefully pushed back against President Donald Trump's deportation agenda in a campaign ad released on Thursday, a rare rebuke of the White House's aggressive immigration policy from inside the Republican Party.

"Mr. President, some of your immigration enforcement efforts have gone too far," she told Trump in a straight-to-camera video that is airing on television in the Miami market, according to the ad tracking firm AdImpact.

The criticism from Salazar, who represents a red-leaning district based in Miami-Dade County, comes with Republicans increasingly worried that concerns over the economy and the president's immigration crackdown will roll back gains the party made with Hispanic voters in the general election two years ago. ...

She's a total hypocrite, silent until the issue threatened her reelection chances in a heavily Hispanic district.

Another socialist fighter with her hand out. Her family got out of Cuba, but now wants to block others from these shore. She can go back to the weekend weather desk at Telemundo...

She sees her poll numbers slipping.

She will go right back to being an accomplice of ICE on 11/4/26

A member of the US House of Representatives is a........hypocrite? LOL

She's the incumbent.....what can the other candidate hit her with on this issue?

Big shocker here.......an incumbent congresswoman is running away from a policy pushed by the president in her own party.

So.....a republican says something you agree with and it pisses you off?

Lack of authenticity pisses real people off.

She's still imitating Trump: Say whatever you need to in the moment to get by.

She's still MAGA: Say whatever you need to in order to get by.

If we are to survive, much less prosper, we need to extinguish this.

-Lack of authenticity pisses real people off.

I'm not sure you even know what "authentic" means.

You should reflect on what you just said there.

I'll allow you to reflect and retract.

my point exactly. Since you make literally everything about Trump.....let's do that here.

Trump hides little to nothing with regards to disdain and open disrespect for others.....people in his party, opposition party, the media, etc.

Very few people are confused on where they stand with him.

In contrast, previous presidents held back on their disdain for others in the public arena. Clinton for sure.....and I mean this in the most complimentary way possible to Clinton.

To put it another way....Trump might be the authentic president...........ever.

It's ironic to say that because we typically reference authenticity as a positive quality.....but it's not necessarily a good thing.

#9 | Posted by eberly at 2026-09-18 10:45 AM | Reply

and with all that in mind.....Trump's pure authenticity pisses you off more than any non-authentic person.

And voters have rewarded a lack of authenticity millions of times.

"Trump's pure authenticity..."

I was wondering why I heard a loud explosion coming from where I keep my irony meter.

Liars can't be authentic.

Trump lied to Americans and got elected.

Your bizarre verbal peregrinations, EBERLY, are performances made when you get pissy.

You are an authentic pissant.

I've seen you do better.

-She's still MAGA: Say whatever you need to in order to get by.

whatever you say. I'm sure you thoroughly researched this woman first before saying that.....right?

or did you simply see the words "Florida Republican" and filled the rest in?

I'm pretty confident in which route you took there.

which is fine. I don't care about the florida republican anymore than I care about the republican from your district.

-Trump lied to Americans and got elected.

based on the lies? sure, I'll concede he lied. He's a politician....

But tomorrow you'll whine that he told the truth.

People are confused about how they feel with regards to authenticity. They say they respect it but it's never really been true. People, especially many posters here, only value being told what they want to hear.

that's the opposite of respecting authenticity......but you're sure you actually value that quality. LOL

As I said, Trump displays an obvious disdain and/or outright hatred for many many people. That's........"authentic".

You're authentically scrambling, EB. You get much more annoyed at us than any real villain. Why is that?

Good luck with that. I enjoy watching a good maga meltdown.

Critical elections tend to do that to the weak and the desperate.

-You get much more annoyed at us than any real villain. Why is that?

first of all.....you've called me a pissant and a genuine ass just in the last few minutes....so who is truly annoyed?

second.....do any of the "real villains" post here, Zed?

I can talk about the real villains but I'm going to talk TO you.

At some point, I'll get you to admit you hate me more than Trump.

"not sure of your point"

Trump is a compulsive serial liar. You're calling that "authentic".

That's a WHOLE LOT OF SAND falling out of your ears.

#21 | Posted by Danforth at 2026-09-18 12:03 PM | Reply

I hate you, EB.? What's my motivation?

#22 | Posted by Zed at 2026-09-18 12:04 PM | Reply

-Trump is a compulsive serial liar.

compared to whom?

Either Bush, or Reagan, or even Nixon? Toss in other leaders in the GOP such as Newt Gingrich, Dick Cheney, etc....

make a list of his lies, and I'll show you those president's/leaders lies and let's see if Trump distinguishes himself from that field.

Then....we can focus on the authenticity. The open hatred and disdain for the press, members of both his own party and the opposition party, minorities, immigrants, etc....

Where does Trump separate himself the most from the others?

I didn't say the man tells the truth or is honest. I only used the word "authentic".

#23 | Posted by eberly at 2026-09-18 12:10 PM | Reply

Do have a reason why anyone here hates you, EB?

#24 | Posted by Zed at 2026-09-18 12:12 PM | Reply

Being an authentic liar is a genuine trait that makes you inauthentic. You're the only one here who does not understand that.

#25 | Posted by Zed at 2026-09-18 12:15 PM | Reply

So we can all agree we have an "Authentic" idiot for a President.

Yay?

Do it. Show us the money!

There are whole books being written on the subject.

Fact-checkers note that while other presidents stretched the truth or exaggerated accomplishments occasionally- such as Barack Obama's reported handful of major false statements across his entire eight-year term- Trump repeated thousands of unverified or false claims as a continuous political and communication strategy.

"Where does Trump separate himself the most from the others?"

The lack of humanity.

#30 | Posted by Danforth at 2026-09-18 12:27 PM | Reply

There are traits and behaviors specific to Trump that render him worse than all previous republicans.

That's the argument of most here, right? Trump is the worst ever.

What makes him the worst ever?

The lies?

If so, then list the lies that make him worse than all the others before.

#31 | Posted by eberly at 2026-09-18 12:29 PM | Reply

Note that Trumpy lies have increased in frequency as he gets older.

During his first presidential term, Donald Trump averaged about 21 false or misleading claims per day.

At the end of his first term he was up to 39 claims per day.

On November 2, 2020 (the day before the presidential election), The Washington Post recorded 503 false or misleading claims in a single day.

-The lack of humanity.

that's it? That's what separates himself from the others?

surely you can do better than that.

And it shouldn't take you more than 2 minutes to type it..
