I said immediately after the debate that Biden would need to weather the storm for about 2 weeks - after which time the Dems and their media will circle the wagons and pretend that they never said Joe's brain was broken. I would say that I am a genius for calling this out, but I think the script was pretty obvious to everyone. The only thing I am hearing is that Obama is the one still leading the charge to oust Joe for the purpose of installing Michele at the convention - so, I don't think that is settled yet but I would suspect that challenge will only go on for another week or so.

Based on polling, she is the only one that has a shot at winning and Obama has permanently burned his bridges with the Biden camp with this ouster attempt. If Obama still wants control, and it is obvious that he does, he must use Michele as he surrogate now. So, whether Michele wants it or not is kinda irrelevant - sorta like Joe's opinion is now less meaningful that Jill's on the matter.

"Americans divide 46-47% between Biden and Trump if the election were today, almost identical to a 44-46% ABC/Ipsos poll result in April.

Among registered voters (though there's plenty of time to register) it's an absolute tie, 46-46%.

Were Vice President Kamala Harris to replace Biden as the Democratic nominee, vote choices are 49-46%, Harris-Trump, among all adults (and 49-47% among registered voters). Harris' 49% is slightly better than Biden's 46%,"

I trust Emerson and pretty much every other poll more than the Washington Post - and they all show Trump crushing each and every Dem including Harris by 6 points. When you take into account that the Dems need to win the general by ~3% to win the EC, it means Trump is effectively +9 vs. Harris.

The only one with a shot is Michele but I am guessing her ratings tank when she is put in front of the people again.

The elites do.

Democrats and corrupt corporate media are in a massive bind with Biden right now, and it's 100% their own fault, which makes the whole thing even more hilarious.

For years, they told their NPC audience that Biden had no health problems whatsoever, and any and all videos suggesting anything to the contrary were fake. And the left-wing NPCs believed them and accordingly voted overwhelmingly to make Biden their 2024 nominee.

Right now, those voters"who were operating entirely on propaganda programming fed to them by the Democrat regime"are why Democrats can't just bounce Biden and get a new nominee. The Democrat psyop efforts were so successful, and their own voters so susceptible to their lies and propaganda, that the regime is now locked in a war with its own voters to get rid of the guy they swore was in perfect health.
And they're having to fight a war against their own stupid voters who bought their stupid lies and propaganda at the exact same time Democrats are yelling about how it's Republicans who hate democracy.

This is what's known as an opinion... one the pros at 538 point and laugh at.

They also mention that Trump is running about 43 percent... except against Obama, he's at 40.

I only numbered those who would vote for Trump 100%, not those who were MOST LIKELY to vote for him but could be swayed by a better choice on the other side. I'd estimate that number to be 15 million.

Biden did fine. It wasn't great, but good enough.
I predict Biden gains a few points in the next few days. But I don't know if he'll keep them over months.
The polls still have Trump and Biden in a virtual tie, with Trump gaining only a slight edge after Biden's debate disaster.

Further, he is looking down and reading the reporter names so AT A MINIMUM he has a pre-ordained order for the questions.

I love Edgar Allan Poe. I especially love the first 13 chapters of his only novel, "The Narrative of Arthur Goron Pym of Nantucket. I especially ESPECIALLY love this singular paragraph, from chapter 11, written 186 years ago:

"Parker turned suddenly towards me with an expression of countenance which made me shudder. There was about him an air of self-possession which I had not noticed in him until now, and before he opened his lips my heart told me what he would say. He proposed, in a few words, that one of us should die to preserve the existence of the others."

My guess would be that participation falls back to historical ranges (60-61%) vs. 66% in 2020.I think Trump matches or beats 74M votes - the Democrat, no matter who it is, will not come close to 81M votes - which will not only lose them the 2024 election, it is just add more fuel to the fire that 2020 was a fraud election.

It is not because of the msm - it is because the party leaders know now that these are loser issues for the Democrats other than abortion. 99% of the coverage on the race the past 2 weeks has been on Biden's debate performance and it's implications.

Meanwhile, ------- is incredibly vulnerable on abortion, on the immunity decision, on overturning chevron, on Project 2025, on Trump's own mental state, on Impoundment, on any number of deeply deeply unpopular positions.

72% of Americans disagree on presidential Immunity
2/3 of Americans think abortion should be legal
These are incredibly strong arguments.

So, instead of even discussing -------'s fitness to be president, it is non-stop coverage of Biden.

Why isn't the media asking non-stop about -------'s mental health? Why do they act like ------- is a silly clown and come down so hard on Biden?

Is that solely the media's fault? NO

Is that the Dems fault for not uniting? Partially, Yes

Biden should not have run for re-election, but the time to have that debate was 2 years ago, NOT NOW.

No replacement has a feasible chance of uniting the party and defeating -------.

So, if the media did it's job and attacked ------- with 1/10th the level of scrutiny they give Biden, well things might be different.

is there such a thing as "auto post" where I can just hit a number and one of the two
will just show up.

" it's not fascism when we do it"

OR

"2 faced lying hypocrite."

my laptop keys are getting worn on those letters.

I watched the whole thing live, not the cheap fake cut-n-paste of all the lucid moments edited together that MSNBC/CNN/DNC did afterward.

MSNBC didn't do that. They showed the whole thing, then went over it, good and bad.

well this is always 'fun' but if I don't change the tv soon I"ll get the opening to 'the view"

I hope you recorded it because they've gone back to the old narrative. Joe is perfectly fine and editing out all the mental dumps. The damage is done the last two weeks have been brutal.

-Can you imaging Trump trying to answer those questions?

If Trump was displaying similar challenges as Biden is having then you and many others here would be losing your ---- over it. You'd insist those exact same challenges Biden has would be a 100% disqualifier for president.

Now, your obvious and pathetic hypocrisy isn't the issue.

It's that despite these challenges we are going to continue to support and vote for Biden. I absolutely hate to admit it but I'll vote for a guy who is clearly unqualified because the other option is WORSE.

I don't even understand how you think you can speak for me, or why you think you can pin your own fantasy about what I've said on me. I've been blunt. My post history is available. Biden seriously fcked the pooch on the debate. Biden's old. Biden doesn't move well. He's still brilliant on foreign policy and economic policy. The economy is doing incredibly well, especially given the pandemic. We are the envy of the world, and our economy is holding up the world.

Biden still does incredible stupid name slips - like he always has done. He does it slower, and because he's old it looks worse. It's funny to watch reporters fcck up names at the same time they're reporting on a Biden tongue slip. I watched one talk about VP Putin in a story about Biden calling Harris Putin.

The real issue is Biden is old, he fccked up bad in the debate, he's not going to get younger, and Trump and his team had decided long ago to go after Biden on his age, his vigor, etc. and that message is being pushed hard (has for many months). Biden then came along and gave them more ammo.

It's funny that you value "characteristics" but ignore the fact that Trump's "characteristics" should prevent him from running at all.

There's a German word for taking pleasure in the misery of others, schadenfreude. It can be a problem when the ------------------ lasts more than four years. Like when Trump wins.

Regardless I'd still rather vote for the guy who could use some performance enhancing drugs than the guy who needs to be in prison.

#108 Claudio There is no such thing as a post birth abortion! Once a child is born if you kill it, it is murder! Now a child can be born stillborn at nine months. My child was stillborn, she did while I was in labor. It wasn't an abortion, it was a stillbirth. Stop lying or are you just that ignorant?

That's nice. Trumpy was determined in a court of law and by a jury of his peers that he committed 34 felonies.

You cannot prosecute someone for made up crimes. You actually need evidence. Like the evidence that made Trumpy a convicted felon.

"$30 million is child-sex complaints" - the cases that were brought to settlement.

Perhaps this behavior explains why Trump claimed bankruptcy four times in fifteen years.

Why Biden isn't publicly skewering him on this topic isn't clear to me.

A few cringe moments. But better than Trump, far better. And he did talk policy, not rambling into personal grievances.
I don't want to vote for either of them. I hope the Dems nominate someone else.
But, the third party candidates are a laugh, a joke. Not serious at all. Stein and her perennial vanity project. Cornel West--what an imbecile. Kennedy and his brain worm and his total lack of anything useful in experience. The third-partiers are nothing but a futile protest vote.

I just do not know how to dance around it. Biden is showing signs of cognitive decline. That scares a lot of people who other would continue to support him. We can argue all we want about how much horrendously worse Trump is than Biden, but what people are seeing repeatedly now when Biden speaks is an old man who only seems to be getting older before our eyes. I support Biden. I am no longer confident in his ability to win reelection.

Biden got in a lot of zingers. Talked about Trump's bankruptcies called him Putin's puppy and read the judge's state saying Trump committed raped. Crowd was very enthusiastic, shouting, We got your back. Four more years. Lock him up (about Trump). And more:

Biden has a really good crowd in Detroit

Biden: It is time for us to stop treating politics like entertainment and reality TV.

Biden: Trump went bankrupt running a casino. I didn't think that was possible. Doesn't the house always win?

Biden: The people would rather talk about how I mix up names. I guess they don't remember that Trump called Nikki Haley Nancy Pelosi. Well, no. No more. Donald, no more free passes.
