It's a 45 minute chopper ride from Jerusalem to the Gaza border, and I'll remind you that border is heavily guarded by the IDF. Therefore, I can't make myself believe that some rogue terrorists para glided into Israel and committed carnage for 7 hours before the IDF could stop them.I was born at night, but it wasn't last night.

What does the distance from Jerusalem to Gaza have to do with anything? The Palestinians attacked those civilians right across the Gaza border.

How Hamas executed a paraglider attack on Israel
The main reason why the Hamas paragliders avoided getting shot down is that Israel likely couldn't detect them, said retired Marine Col. J.D. Williams, a defense policy researcher with the RAND Corporation.

"The paragliders would probably have flown very low " popping up to go over the border fencing and then flying low to the ground " staying under the radar coverage of Israeli air and missile defenses," Williams told Task & Purpose on Thursday. "In addition, those air and missile defenses, primarily the Iron Dome system, are optimized to detect fast-moving, high trajectory weapons " missiles and rockets " and are not tuned to pick up low-flying, slow-moving objects like paragliders."

Although counter-drone systems could engage paragliders, it is unclear how widely Israel deployed such systems before the Oct. 7 attacks or if they were positioned to stop incursions from Gaza, Williams said.

Even if counter-drone systems were in the area where Hamas launched its paraglider attacks, they still would have had the same challenges in detecting low-flying paragliders as other air and missile systems, he said.

Many of the same reason that Hormuz is a no-go zone right now. We can't spot the threats.

As far as 7 hours to stop the carnage, the estimate is 6,000 Palestinians participated in that day's festivities. Scattered across about 40 miles long and ten miles deep. You seem to have a very high opinion of Israeli effectiveness, if you think they should have been able to put an end to it in a few minutes. It takes our cops an hour + to put an end to shootings in just one of our schools.

"Down goes Orban! Down goes Orban!"

George Foreman smote Joe Frazier so hard that the poor guy's feet lifted off the canvas.

The blame game already started.

In this interview, Senator Ron Johnson bleats that Biden, Obama, and gun control are the blame:

MARTHA RADDATZ: "You have been a supporter of this war. But after 21 hours of really historic negotiations, there was no deal cut. And it's basically, according to J.D. Vance, take it or leave it. What's your reaction?

RON JOHNSON: "Well, first of all, I'm not supportive of the war with Iran, but that's because Iran declared war on America 47 years ago. They have blood on their-- on their hands of American soldiers, of hundreds, probably thousands of them. But it's the ayatollahs, it's the regime that declared war on America. Not the Iranian people. So, we're not at war with the Iranian people. We're trying to end the state-sponsored terrorism. We're trying to end the threat, the menace that Iran represents, not only to America but to world security and peace."

RADDATZ: "And what's your reaction to what happened here in Islamabad with no deal? What do you think happens now?"

JOHNSON: "I'm not surprised at all. The ayatollahs, even though they have been, you know, so degraded in terms of their capabilities, nobody thought this would be easy. They've been preparing for this for 47 years. They have multiple layers. They've got 200,000 people in the IRGC, 600,000 people in the Basij police force. They are brutal. By the way, this is exactly what nationwide gun control results in. The Iranian people are completely disarmed. It's going to be very difficult for them to rise up. So, it's a very difficult situation."

RADDATZ: "Meanwhile, we have 50,000 troops in harm's way right now. We have Gulf allies in harm's way. We have gas prices spiking. Oil barrels " the price raised there. So, what would you say to those Americans who are sitting at home, seeing those 50,000 troops in harm's way, seeing gas prices spike, and listening to you saying how complicated this could be and that it could continue for a long time?"

JOHNSON: "The problem is with what President Obama and Biden did -- they coddled the regime, they funneled billions of dollars, strengthened the regime, allowed them to sponsor state terror, allowed them to continue enriching uranium."

Everyone knows that Trump is mentally impaired. Netanyahu isn't the only one exploiting that.

Apparently not "everyone" knows that, or they are just using it to further promote the "ZioNazis" / "Nuttyahoo" line, that is now joining "Blue MAGA" with "woke Right" factions.

Reality is that Trump has never in his life did anything that he didn't think would benefit Trump (hence, "transactional") and, in fact, Netanyahoo was undermined several times by Trump's narcissistic desire to take credit for any "success" in the Middle East, e.g., in June 2025 when Trump stopped a devastating Israeli attack on Iranian IRGC and likely real long-planned "regime change" in Iran.

|------- ... How could the man they've defended as a genius for so long make what is in their eyes such a monumental blunder? ...

For some ... blame lands on the Jews, or Israel... This is how Joe Kent explained it. It's Tucker Carlson's explanation too: We're in this war because Israel's prime minister "demanded it." ...

Now, I think some of these arguments are ahistorical, antisemitic, deranged nonsense (i.e. Joe Kent's fevered anti-Israel paranoia). Trump has said "no" to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu more than once, including during this war. But some claims have a patina of merit. If you buy the claim the war is a disaster, then the people around Trump have some culpability.

Reality is quite different. Netanyahu was reluctant to involve Trump again - MBS of Saudi Arabia, seeing Iran weakened, wanted to "crush" Iran and end the longest war in human history - 14 centuries of war between Sunni and Shi'a:

Here's one conservative nailing what Trump is:

thedispatch.com - Trump Is Anything but Unpredictable - 2026-04-10, The Dispatch

|------- I have been advising observers not to make the mistake of overcomplicating Donald Trump...

He's a simple man whose actions are most directly and accurately described as the ordinary daily application of his vices: laziness, vindictiveness, greed, vanity, arrogance, cowardice, and, above all, stupidity. He is a rage-addled dimwit with a savantic gift for manipulating lesser fools and a vulnerability to manipulation by men who are similarly vicious but more capable: Vladimir Putin, J.D. Vance, Stephen Miller, even one or two of his idiot children. Stronger men can push him around, and weaker men succeed by flattering him. His enemies can manipulate him at least as easily as his allies.

"The Manhattan district attorney's office on Saturday said it was opening an investigation into Mr. Swalwell, who has denied the accusations "

Isn't 'Push to Expel' premature, given that nothing has been decided in court?
Allegations are inexpensive and readily available. Where's the evidence?.
Besides, the proven situation re: fangfang was much more serious, and it was whitewashed and let go.

What about Tara's accusation?
