Dogs are special creatures. We have bred them to coexist with humans. These two species have a special relationship. Dogs actually need human companionship. It's bred into them. What she did was violate the trust inherent in that relationship. Which shows how she treats relationships.

Also in case you are not aware (and I know you are not) humans are actually animals too. We are part of the animal kingdom.

Humans belong to the animal phylum known as chordates because we have a backbone. The human animal has hair and milk glands, so we are placed in the class of mammals. Within the mammal class, humans are placed in the primate order ...

It was a puppy. In the "before times" everyone understood we loved puppies. We had a name for that kind of love. It was called puppy love.

We sterile dogs because we DO love them and so that they do not over populate and run wild in the streets. It would not be a good life for them and they would end up sick and suffering or euthanized or worse, shot in a gravel pit by a sadistic human owner.

It's not the same world in which we originally became friends with them.

The 'shelter' only makes the human feel better about it.

No wants to see dogs in a "shelter".

Neutering prevents shelters ending up being filled to the brim with unwanted dogs. But it's a better option for the dog than being shot in a gravel pit.

We also don't want to see humans end up in a shelter (or a gravel pit) either.

That's why family planning and contraception are all so very important.

Reasons for destroying a dog:
-Killing or harrassing livestock
-Being a danger to people or other dogs
-Being irretrievably ill
-Being at large

Interesting. She did not cite any of those reasons. (Not that I agree with any of them except maybe terminal illness ) ... you would kill a dog just for being "at large"? And a dog is only a danger to others because of poor training or incompetence or purposely evil people.

If more people would neuter their pets there wouldn't be so many unwanted pets and they wouldn't be dropping them off at your house.

You seem to understand and are telling me that dogs are very intelligent.

Tell me something I don't know.

You don't have to be a "pack master" to know "things" about dogs.

And I bet not all "pack masters" are good with or for dogs.

I already know that dogs are intelligent. Tell us some dog lore that shows YOU have more compassion and intelligence than a dog.

Btw- I am a parent. Just because I am a parent does not necessarily mean I am a good one. Even though all my children lived and are doing pretty well (knock on wood!). But I will say I have never considered "destroying" any of my children when they misbehave, disrespect me or seem untrainable and or have troubles dealing with life.

That's what I get for taking him at his word.

I assumed he was implying he was from Alaska and ran the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race or something. I finally looked it up and they are called "mushers". (Now that's a more appropriate name for a fatboomer.)
