-I think the Governor's story is made up. It was her hope that GOPers would see her as another wild gun owner, eager to pop a cap in any person, place, thing, idea or creature who disappointed her in the least, and would not (in this case, literally) heel.
-Now that her mouth and pen have gotten her in trouble, this lady will be an easy target (hardy har har) for anyone from left, right or center who wants to tie her to irresponsible gun ownership and use. How is this lady any different from thug-live ganstas in the inner city who shoot their dogs? She appears to wear a more flattering bra...

share the same outrage for people.....and I use the description skeptically....who turn their dogs out in the countryside.
Those are the people who should suffer consequences.

--but here we are again.

democrat media wants people to believe she's talking about the beloved family pet and such instead of animals

on a working farm.

I WOULDN'T HAVE DONE WHAT SHE DID..... but once again we see the rank 2 faced hypocrisy rise .....you people celebrate a needle inserted into

the brain of up to and including in some cases a fully developed unborn child to suck it out...

so the organs and limbs can be ripped out and thrown in the garbage....or sold....

so who gives a squat about your outrage towards a dog ?

If she actually shot the dog, she is a

Umm your reading comprehension sucks bro. She definitely said she shot her puppy you communist maroon. Democrats did not put those words in her mouth. Maybe read her book? Can you read English?

FTA: "she shot and killed her 14-month-old puppy named Cricket because of the dog's alleged misbehavior."

Dogs are special creatures. We have bred them to coexist with humans. These two species have a special relationship. Dogs actually need human companionship. It's bred into them. What she did was violate the trust inherent in that relationship. Which shows how she treats relationships.

Also in case you are not aware (and I know you are not) humans are actually animals too. We are part of the animal kingdom.

Humans belong to the animal phylum known as chordates because we have a backbone. The human animal has hair and milk glands, so we are placed in the class of mammals. Within the mammal class, humans are placed in the primate order ...

Read a book! It's the reading rainbow! The more you know ...

"she shot and killed her 14-month-old puppy named Cricket because of the dog's alleged misbehavior."

She had the dog in her car. She was training the dog to hunt. She stopped to talk to a neighbor and let the dog out of the car. The dog hunted and killed two chickens on the neighbors farm.

The dog was doing what it was being trained to do and was reward with a bullet to the face in a gravel pit.

Her rationalizing..."I always hated that dog" is no excuse for her failure to either train it properly or re-home the dog.

She said it shows her "decisiveness". Wrong. It shows her to be short tempered and violent and unfit for office.

The fact that the dog's name was Cricket and that her daugther asked, "Where's Cricket?" shows that it is was more than a farm animal. Farmers don't name farm animals. My sister married a farmer and years ago when we first visited the farm, my other sister asked, "What's that cow's name?" Our future brother-in-law laguhed and said, "We don't name the animals we are going to eat." When I asked the name of one of the barn cats, he laughed again and said, "Cat." They did have one cat that was an indoor/outdoor pet, however, and he was named.

Or at least put it up for adoption. But you morons don't know how to make a point without an exaggerated rhetorical lie.

"Or did dogs save the fledgling humans, who were woefully underequipped to deal with life in the animals' kingdom."

No. Weird thought but no. A pack of dogs never had chance against a tribe of humans, ever. Humans are the most dangerous animal in the known universe. Whenever a human encounters a wild animal it's life and even it's very species is in danger. Especially if it's tasty. Or dangerous. But even if it is not (see the Dodo).

...

Don't pretend to love dogs if you sterilize them. What you're really in love with is your own ego.

#16 | POSTED BY FATBOOMBOOM

Oh dear. Your ignorance is showing again!

We sterile dogs because we DO love them and so that they do not over populate and run wild in the streets. It would not be a good life for them and they would end up sick and suffering or euthanized or worse, shot in a gravel pit by a sadistic human owner.

It's not the same world in which we originally became friends with them.

I have no problem with a "rabid dog" being put down. I saw Gregory Peck do it in To Kill A Mockingbird. It's a great movie. Trumpets should watch it.

#22 | Posted by moder8 at 2024-04-29 03:01 PM | Reply

The 'shelter' only makes the human feel better about it.

No wants to see dogs in a "shelter".

Neutering prevents shelters ending up being filled to the brim with unwanted dogs. But it's a better option for the dog than being shot in a gravel pit.

We also don't want to see humans end up in a shelter (or a gravel pit) either.

That's why family planning and contraception are all so very important.

Reasons for destroying a dog:
-Killing or harrassing livestock
-Being a danger to people or other dogs
-Being irretrievably ill
-Being at large

Interesting. She did not cite any of those reasons. (Not that I agree with any of them except maybe terminal illness ) ... you would kill a dog just for being "at large"? And a dog is only a danger to others because of poor training or incompetence or purposely evil people.

If more people would neuter their pets there wouldn't be so many unwanted pets and they wouldn't be dropping them off at your house.

Must read thread from an Environmental and Agricultural Lawyer who operates Snow Creek Ranch and who methodically explains that Noem's shooting of both the dog and the goat are not SOP's on farms and in the case of the dog is not supported by ND law:

THE REAL KRISTI NOEM STORY AND WHY THIS RANCHER CALLS --------:

I was born on a cattle and poultry farm--I have spent the majority of my life living on the farm--and I currently have a ranch in Tennessee with cattle, horses, and sheep--and what I am here to tell you is that Kristi Noem was wrong.

From the time I could crawl, I've been around hunting dogs " my dad raised treeing walkers and we currently have a treeing walker and a German shorthair pointer bird dog on the farm with us now.

I am neither a Republican nor a Democrat and have limited knowledge of Noem's political dealings--I base my opinion on her own words in describing what was done; words that many people supporting her decision have not read.

As a rancher and an agricultural attorney, I 100% support the right of farmers and ranchers to protect their stock, including the use of deadly force on any animal, dog or otherwise, who is attempting to kill the stock--or poultry, as it was in this case.

But contrary to the false narratives being posited on this site, that is not what occurred in this case.
