Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Monday, September 15, 2025

“The whole thing is screwed up,” said John Painter, a three-time Trump voter who runs an organic dairy farm in Westfield. “We need people to do the jobs Americans are too spoiled to do.”

In Tioga County, where President Donald Trump won 75 percent of the vote in 2024, farmers are losing patience with the White House's promise of a quick solution for farm workers. Their urgent need is highlighted by stories like those of a multigenerational dairy farm that sold off all its dairy cows because the owner could not find workers and another where a farmer's job listings have received no responses.

Why Pennsylvania farmers have any "patience" at all with the man who is trying to ruin them is both funny and sad.

Pay MORE.

Cheap people don't want to pay what the job really costs.

Use some of the "farm subsidies" to pay Americans More.

Spoiled farmers too Cheap to pay their workers enough.

No wonder Americans don't want the "jobs".

Illegals don't want em' either but they're Desperate.

Farmers are so stupid.

A question for those of you who think farmers are so stupid for voting for a republican ... ... . what alternative strategy or campaign promise did the Democrats make in contrast?

" if you vote for Trump, you'll lose your workers. But if you vote for me, you'll get to keep them and have more of them."

Anything like that?

While you're thinking through that, ponder this question as well ... .. are any Democrats gonna campaign to farmers and tell them they will return the workers to them?

Is anyone gonna actually make that the issue?

Gee, no one warned them on Fox News; maybe it's time to change the channel? Maybe time to wonder what else they aren't telling you about? Nah! Those people really are that stupid and the Fox News hosts are all good Christians and patriotic Americans just like Donald Trump. Those farmers in Pennsylvania and most Republicans believe him when he loudly peoclaimed "I love all my Christians!" I honestly did wonder at the time if Americans were really stupid enough to believe that garbage but then I found out that, yes, Americans really are that stupid! I get no pleasure in saying that, but it is just the cold hard truth! Do now they are discovering that most of these people that, their hero, Trump is deporting were doing important job like picking crops and milking cows? OMG! Why didn't anyone ever tell them that? Oh wait...they did but it just wasn't on Fox News so a huge number of Americans never heard them!

FAFO, Farmers.

So, Eb, your point is that all this Republican economic screwing of Republicans is the result of failure of the Democrats not to have sufficiently warned them?

That's your serious opinion?

That's what you are going with?

Pretty sure they did.

Ya know, ya can lead a horticulture, but you cant make em think.

You think that they they didn't know that Trump was a Liar, a thief, a tax cheat, and a Putin humpin' ----- grabbin' fraudster and 34-time convicted Felon... and that is the fault of the Dems?

Not the Republicans...

Seriously?

-Pretty sure they did.

No, you're not.

If you were, I'd be seeing evidence of those campaign trail promises.

"I won't screw you on soybeans"
"I won't deport your illegal workers"

I'll wait.....

At the very least a status quo.

Not the double whammy of rounding up their labor and starting trade wars with their buyers.

No matter how you slice it, these people are idiots who are in the FO phase they assumed they wouldn't have to endure.

I'm expecting it to only get worse as it becomes clear that there is intent behind this. As farmland is bought for pennies on the dollar in the coming months/years by the same groups of investors/PE funds, I expect the caterwauling to be heard from miles away as they realize they were intentionally had.

So because the Dems didn't expressly state in minute detail how they wouldn't screw up the status quo to this extent...these people aren't idiots for voting for Trump a third time?

Yeah...that's not the dunk you think it is.

Trump destroys trade deals, farmers suffer, Eberly blames democrats.

Just another day on the retort.

-these people aren't idiots for voting for Trump a third time?

I think voters are idiots anyway so these specific voters make little difference one way or the other.

For those of you who think they are idiots and it bothers you so much....then answer the question.

What alternative was laid out to them they chose to ignore or not believe?

We spend a generation at least focusing on social wedge issues like abortion and gay marriage and both sides work to control the large cities in those states...not the rural areas.

What alternative message did the farmers ignore? And let's be specific since you're bitching about Pennsylvania farmers......who campaigned in rural Pennsylvania and slammed Trump for what he said he was going to do to them and how they would NOT do those things and work in their favor?

immigrant workers, soybeans, etc.....the very things you're harping on today.

-Eberly blames democrats.

I voted for Trump. But I don't remember the issues specific to farmers being the reason. I didn't need that reason.

minute detail?

no....."I won't kill your labor resources. I won't screw you on soybean prices."

You can avoid where this is going or just get there.......we both know where this is going.

I voted for Trump.
#14 | POSTED BY EBERLY

That must have felt refreshing to finally admit.

OMG......I voted against Trump.

#17 | Posted by eberly at 2025-09-15 02:38 PM | Reply

In any case.....I expect any and all democrats to LEAD with these issues next time when campaigning.

Do any of you?
