This showed up on my Facebook feed this morning:

" What is happening in Minnesota is completely unacceptable - from all sides. As someone who understands firearms and their proper employment, the subject that was killed today created an unsafe situation by approaching ICE agents in an active scene with a reported 9mm pistol, 2 additionally loaded magazines and no ID

Although he had the right and was permitted to carry (open & concealed), he apparently approached ICE agents with comments being traded - we dont know what was said between the parties, but we do know that when the agents tried to subdue him, he resisted, a gun was produced and that's when shots were fired.

No matter how you may FEEL one way, or another, about the situation - when stopped by law enforcement of any kind, YOU COMPLY!!! You deal with the legality, or lack of, after the fact, but you DO NOT RESIST, especially when you are armed or tensions are high! This never ends well for any party involved! Period.

The current information available points to a man with NO PERSONAL ID on him, but he had a fully stocked weapon at a planned morning protest at a ICE Active Aprehension of a violent illegal Alien that should have NEVER been in our nation to begin with.

What is further concerning, after the shooting at the scene, over 200 violent protesters appeared within minutes, but NO SIGN OF LOCAL POLICE!!!

More importantly, I 100% support a full investigation into the shooting, and expect one to occur! Use of Deadly Force is the last thing one employs , and only when an agent reasonably believes it is necessary to protect the agent or others from an imminent threat of Death, or Serious bodily injury.

A note to all political leaders across this nation, from a Vet who was involved in an extreme situation with potential violence - It's your OBLIGATION to bring peace, follow the law and protect our people, not to side with incitement and violence to bring about a political agenda!

I only pray for our children and the nation they inherit. May God bless our great nation and helps us to be better and work together for a brighter future.

Not at all. Resisting/obstruction/impeding (if that was what even happened) almost never ends with lethal force, nor should it. If someone obstructs law enforcement carrying out their duties that is not a green light to open fire. Based upon the info we have SO FAR this does not appear to be a justified shooting. Once we have the complete story and it's deemed it was not a justified shooting I expect this agent to receive the Chauvin treatment.

This isn't a Facebook friend. I've never even heard of the guy whose post showed up on my feed. I've only had a Facebook account for a few weeks and have made very few friend requests.

I didn't realize he was a cop involved in traffic duty.

And you know this was without provocation, how?

That is obstruction no matter how noble his intentions may have been. Again, obstructing doesn't come with a death sentence. Based upon what we do know so far, I think it's likely this officer will end up like Chauvin. The officer who shot Good will likely not be convicted, if he even ends up being charged.

It doesn't matter what you believe ordinary citizens think. ICE is an arm of federal law enforcement specifically tied to immigration law.
