Because it's interesting.

It's either an issue of extreme privilege or extreme fear. Could be both.

Nice to see that Bondi understands how much people hate her.

It's all about Militarism in Government.

During the Civil War Lincoln Walked unafraid in DC. He went to the Theater and Shopped.

Think about that...

Everything is Militarized now. The Entire Government will be residing on military bases before long.

This is Rank Fear,not Corruption.

It would be Funny if it wasn't so Pathetic and Indicative of a State Collapsing Into Tyranny.

Yup. Abraham Lincoln strolled around Wash DC basically unprotected.

Some US Cavalrymen would escort his carriage on occasion.

I recently read The Day Lincoln Was Shot.

His lazy bodyguard from the Metropolitan PD came to work late to the White House on the night of the assassination.

He was asked by the tired MPD officer who was waiting for him: "Well, are you at least armed tonight?"

"Yup. Abraham Lincoln strolled around Wash DC basically unprotected. "

During the Civil War Lincoln snuck out by himself on horseback to visit Union soldiers in the hospital.

When he got back to the White House there was a hole in his stovepipe hat from someone taking a shot at him.

Just about everyone in Trump's cabinet has their own grift. They fly around in lavish jets, throw lavish parties, get free housing, get rich with crypto-scams, pad their family member's pockets; the list goes on and on.

Heck, the FBI is one big "Camp Make-A-Wish" for Kash Patel and his girlfriend.

All while they call their own employees "corrupt parasites".

So, the better question is, why don't you care?

"normalize Trump's actions."
I don't know what that means. I'm watching what's going in real time.
I buy gas
I have a substantial portfolio
You think I'm immune to the realities of what's going on here?
#81 | Posted by eberly

Identifying as a Republican normalizes Trump's actions.

That's not why you identify as a Republican, but it's an effect that identifying as a Republican has nonetheless.

You're telling the world, our Republican President rapes children, and that's not a deal-breaker for me when it comes to identifying as a Republican.

Not all Republicans rape children, but all Republicans decided raping children wasn't a deal-breaker.

I spent 2 days earlier this week in my state capitol meeting with legislators, many of whom are running either for insurance commissioner or governor this next election.

By the way. You can get down from your cross.

I've several times talked with my state and federal representatives as well as emailed them and my senators.

I've walked in protest after protest after protest (after protest after protest after protest ... )

But perhaps we are pussies when compared to republicans who killed Melissa Hortman and John Hoffman. Who attempted to kidnap Gretchen Witmer. Who tried to kill John Shapiro by arson. Who attacked Nancy Pelosi's husband with a hammer.

Was that your point?

Must have been.

When Americans speak of Ground Zero (or G-Zero), we are not talking about future events.

If you were an American, you'd know that.

Look at you, you went from complaining I don't do anything to complaining about what I'm doing.

You're complaining more about me than you ever have about anything Trump and republicans have done.

Like hiding on military bases to avoid accountability for their crimes.

Governor Josh Shapiro (D-PA) and "Bibi" Netanyahu for POTUS/VPOTUS in 2028.

US Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) would be their ideal USSECSTATE and Alan Dershowitz would be the perfect USAG.

Would you prefer a US Senator from California with an "R"-CA after his/her name?

eberly | FLAG: Megalomaniac

I was just reading the Comments page.

I've been observing your "I'm smarter/better than you and look down on you" act for many years.

Most Democrats here (including me) are educated, have/had great careers, accumulated a lot of net worth, and keep up with the facts surrounding current events.

Many of us have also been active in local and national politics (I have been since I was 16). Volunteering, donating, canvassing, making our voices heard where and when it matters.

You're nothing special or unique in any way.

"Governor Josh Shapiro (D-PA) ... POTUS ... in 2028."

Would you prefer USSECSTATE Rubio (R-FL) POTUS ... in 2028?

Would you prefer VPOTUS Vance (R-OH) POTUS ... in 2028?

... and all of the Cabinet Officers, high-level officials, and even more federal bureaucrats ... not to mention even more SCOTUS picks ... that any POTUS with an "R" after their name bring with them?

You, Caius Marcius Coriolanus, are clearly an intelligent, learned individual, whose comments here show a wisdom beyond that displayed by many here, yours truly included in that latter category.

But do you would prefer Republican rule to continue if a Democratic candidate is "imperfect"?

I will promise you this.

If my ONLY options are D v R, im going D 99% of the time.

I'm giving myself a 1% out in case the D candidate is some kind of idiot.

But in Los Angeles it's mostly democrats running against each other. Or sometimes 3rd party candidates I prefer.

So. There's more I can consider when voting.

#104 | Posted by ClownShack at 2026-03-12 06:20 PM | Reply

#100 And if Candidate A (D-wherever) has [AIPAC] after their name AND Candidate B (R-wherever) has [AIPAC] after their name...

...and all of the Candidates C-Z are gadflies, incapable of winning...

... who are you going to vote for?

As for me?

There's no question, whatsoever: I want enough power to amass in the hands of Democrats, both in 2026 and in 2028, - at local, state and federal levels - to ensure that said power can finally bring accountability and justice the whole corrupt Republican Party/MAGA party/Trump; to to bring them all to their knees.

And to that end, I'll bite my tongue and demand clarity and purity only after we've regained the power necessary to end the Trump, and some justice has returned to this country that I love.

And not before.

While in other parts of the country it is an uphill battle to win in red districts.

But we're seeing it, beginning to change, with all the Democratic victories in red states/districts/cities that we've seen since this past November.

So, we need all of those on our side to fight together, with one common goal.

But, with the luxury you have in LA, why don't you remember that in some places (looking at you, Texas) a Democratic victory will be in of those uphill battles?

Why wouldn't you want to see Democratic victories there, too?

Mooching? You called it "free".

Also, my complaint about the Trump administration hiding on military bases has remained consistent, where as you're busy trying to normalize everything happening in America.

I'm not normalizing anything.

Although what you're freaking out about is a conflict in the ME involving Israel and oil prices are increasing, and the stock market doesn't like it.

#108 The very first time I voted, in a primary in August 1974, my name was on the ballot for Democratic committeeman for the precinct in which I lived.

I appeared on the ballot because there was actually an incumbent in the position.

I typed out a letter, introducing myself, and walked door-to-door handing out copies.

In the paper the next morning, as I waded through the various stories about the state-wide, district and local elections, there I saw, buried in the minutia of the precinct tabulations, that, in my precinct, I had defeated the incumbent, 69-19!

Yeah, Eb.

Some of us have been at this game for a long, long time.

Your ridicule has no effect on that reality.
