The biggest problem with current "progressives" is they always think it's about "justice," even when it's the smallest most stupid pile of s*&^ nonsense they've hung themselves up on (birthing people vs people who produce eggs vs blah blah blah).

When I lived in Texas, my most conservative friend (name is Gary, great guy) once told me (probably slightly mocking but mostly just matter of fact) that I have a "keen sense of justice." It's that "keen sense of justice" that makes me recoil from most "progressives." Why? Because they've misused and abused the word to the point of disgusting absurdity.

Drugs are legal so that people don't die so often and the product isn't unregulated.
Prostitution is legal so that the workers can do it clearly and safely.
Things are more heavily regulated because it turns out cleaner food, air and water are good things.
More PTO and holidays means people aren't burned out and miserable, leading to better performance and overall societal health.
Medical care isn't prohibitively expense.
Safety nets exist because it turns out people don't commit crimes as often if they don't have to.
