Senator Eric Schmidt embarrassed himself and the entire state of Missouri by calling Smith a dirt bag and accusing him of perjury after Smith denied visiting Atlanta the day after news broke that Fani Willis had a relationship with a prosecutor she ended up hiring.
Schmidt demonstrated why he is the losingest attorney general in state history when he claimed text messages showed Smith was in Atlanta attending a Hawks game. Smith's calendar showed he was in Maryland attending a Caitlin Clark led Iowa Hawkeyes game

Don't get me wrong. He's had a noteworthy career. Quite a few artists have taken inspiration from his work and he's contributed a lot to the industry. Visionary? Sure, I'll give him that. But "legend" is a big stretch, even for a clickbait headline.
I'm hard pressed to think of more than 2 of his songs.

The most laughable thing about this is that anyone would ever call Todd Rundgren a "rock legend.". I vaguely recognized the name. Dude is giving some serious Abe Simpson vibes. I guess saying something controversial about the brightest star in pop culture is one way to get your mostly irrelevant name out there.

Based on the headline I expected this to be about former Missouri AG Andrew Bailey, another election denier, who also quit his role as co-deputy director of the DOJ this week.

I don't know and the national conversation but here in Missouri is a big topic. We restored women's rights in 2024 and now the GOP has inserted a misleading, muddled amendment onto the November ballot to try to fool voters into stripping the right away again.

They have to commit fraud in order to demonstrate to themselves that they are correct.
I won't be surprised if we learn BillJohnson does the same.

Trump is hanging out at country clubs and sporting events while his administration is covering up the growing list of casualties in his ill-conceived war with Iran.

The "left" has nothing to do with this. This occurred in Florida, a state that has been controlled by republicans for decades. The state is in the bottom half of states when it comes to mental health care. They only loosely regulate safe storage of guns in homes with children.

If this family had been in Ca, Mass, Oregon, Il, NY or a number of other blue states then the mother would have been required to properly secure her gun where her minor child could not access it.
Why is it that republicans think that it is fine to leave children home alone with unsecured guns?

Never understood why people in agriculture voted for someone who told them ahead of time they would decimate their workforce if elected.

Hopefully Missouri voters are wising up to fact that the GOP dominated state legislature and GOP Governors don't care about what the people think are in our best interest. We came together and voted down their radical tax plan and their plan to strip the people of the power of our vote during the primary ballot. Both measures lost by wide margins in every district in the state. Now we need to block their effort to choose our officials for us. I don't hold out hope for anything near a Dem majority but hopefully we will send enough GOP members packing that the GOP loses their super majority.

Trump's own people said around this time last year that their policies needed more time to go into effect and that Trump wouldn't take responsibility for economic conditions until q1 or 2 of 2026.
