The founders were smart enough to compromise in order to try and create a more perfect Union. It's just too bad we evolved into uncompromising idiots.

Southern states feared a direct popular vote, as a large portion of their population was enslaved and could not vote. By tying electoral votes to Congress's total representation (which included the "three-fifths compromise" that counted enslaved people), the system gave the South more power.

Since slavery and of course racism is declared OVER in America and the South definitely does not need more power (they obviously haven't used it very well) we dont need it anymore.

I don't understand why the world just doesn't respond with overwhelming force to states and actors like Iran (and Russia) who lash out at other states the way they have (each time they do it). Instead of waiting until a moron like Trumpy comes along and kicks the very angry Middle East hornets nest in revenge for all the little bee stings.
