School Shooting in Madison

Four people were killed and five others have been hurt from a shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin, police said. The suspected shooter, a juvenile believed to be a student, is also dead, police said.

A hundred fully trained officers with bullet proof vests wouldn't charge into a school to confront a shooter with an AR-15.

But 50 year old Mrs. Thompson teaching English for $45,000 a year should strap on that pistol, charge into a hail of gunfire, and take out the shooter.

If teachers want to be armed make sure they are proficient and trained and have the proper psyche, then allow them to be armed. It would provide needed deterrence.

There are some countries that allow a lot of weapons in homes, but they mandate training and in their country economic inequality is perhaps half what it is in America, and their kids are not stunned into rejection and hopelessness. If we don't want a lot of murderous kids running around, perhaps we should stop creating so many of them.

Because they weren't wearing the type that can stop a 5.56. That type of body armor is pretty bulky and heavy, at least for someone on their feet all day, and was worn by the SWAT team who finally showed up and went in because they were equipped.

But the rest of your post is only further supported by that. A teacher with a handgun is supposed to do what cops in standard issue gear couldn't and wouldn't...
