"All Oklahoma schools are required to incorporate the Bible and the Ten Commandments in their curriculums"

Can't wait for the new curriculum!

They could teach this in Spanish class, in the lesson about Tijuana:

Bible > Ezekiel > Chapter 23 > Verse 20
Ezekiel 23:20

New International Version
There she lusted after her lovers, whose -------- were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses.

New Living Translation
She lusted after lovers with -------- as large as a donkey's and emissions like those of a horse.

English Standard Version
and lusted after her lovers there, whose members were like those of donkeys, and whose issue was like that of horses.

Jewish women couldn't even sue for divorce. They had no standing in Court at all.

10 Cs is general guideline, but the Law of Moses had at least 300 plus separate laws. One can count 612 if you count positive and negative commands.

The purpose of the Law, however, was to teach Israel that they were imperfect as humans, and could not possibly follow the Law.

Which is why they always expected a Messiah who would fulfill the Law and provide Grace instead.

You think stating it is a metaphor is some sort of winning argument?

The very basis of christianity is that jesus was a sacrificial lamb and you commune with god by eating him. That is cannibalism. that is cannibalism as a way to feel close to god. That process somehow washes you clean. You are eating the metaphorical body and drinking the metaphorical blood of a human (that is also a god). Catholics take it a step further arguing the hosts and wine become literal flesh and blood. I am sorry but that is cannibalism. I understand that that is not a concept that people are comfortable with. I find most religious people don't have a basic understanding of what they believe. I get it that people can't conceive how bizarre and troubling their own belief systems are.

Sacrificing animals is a pagan belief. Christianity is an outgrowth of pagan beliefs. Christianity grew out of cultures that previously sacrificed humans.

So, yeah, christianity is cannibalism at it's core. And I find it vile not beautiful.

Nothing wrong with you or me talking about it especially on a thread that's all about if. Thats not the point. We are not powerful legislators or judges making or interpreting the law. It's when elected leaders try to force their religious beliefs onto others by inserting it into the law or interpreting the law thru the lense of the Bible (or thru any religious dogma) that the problems begin.

As an individual what you speak about is of no concern one way or the other as you are just another sheep to be shorn.

There are other more powerful Johnson's out there that I would be more concerned about wearing their religion on their sleeve while in public office and using it to interpret the law with.
