Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Trump: "Get out and vote just this time. You won't have to do it anymore. Four more years it will be fixed. It'll be fine. You won't have to vote anymore ... In four years you don't have to vote again. We'll have it fixed so good you're not gonna have to vote."

This is it.

November is the deadline.

Either by the end of the year Harris prevails and democracy continues.

Or Trump wins and through Project 2025, the country will change to resemble the USSR.

Deplorable Trumping MAGAts hate America and blindly cheer on the death of our nation.

Their anger and shortsightedness is a danger to us all.

Democracy is incredibly fragile and once destroyed can't easily be restored.

The GOP deprived Americans of Universal Health Care (like Canadians, Germans, and Brits enjoy), stripped away women's reproductive rights, ensures that American streets are flooded with firearms, wants the Bible taught in public schools, now endorses the elimination of our Constitutional right to vote.

What an unimaginable dystopia this dotard offers the American people.

It's the Trumanzee's preemptive strike as a convicted felon. The way to fix the impending personal loss of said right to vote is to eliminate voting.

Not just the right to vote. Trump intends to eliminate and replace the entire Constitution. We won't even have the right to complain without being charged with treason and sent to a concentration camp after you've been starved and tortured. You'll never see your wife and children again. Beverly thinks he is just "kidding".

Beverly still hasn't learned to believe them when they tell you what they are and what they will do.

Beverly thinks that manafestos like Project 2025 that promise to undermine and destroy our democratic institutions are just a joke and they would never do it.

Beverly also thought that the Supreme Court would never overturn Roe v Wade and that red states would never take away women's rights to healthcare privacy even though Trumpy told us exactly what he was going to do.

Beverly hasn't learned yet that Trumpy will do whatever he thinks we will let him get away with. If it benefits Trumpy.

Eberly, here's the issue, in his first term, Dotard did try to destroy democracy and the peaceful transfer of power after a free and fair (as found by 60 courts) election. In those four years in power, he tested the fences and was often rejected by the Dems in Congress, the courts, his own cabinet, and the civil service. Now he has a BLUEPRINT in Project 2025 to overcome all of that, and the green light from SCOTUS to get it done! I've heard people in the GQP admit that Project 2025 is an Orbanlike takeover of our government, which does not bother the MAGAts at all since Tucker and Dotard speak of him and his strongman rule so glowingly when really Orban is Dotard's handler for Putin. The fact is that none of this is funny, and anybody who does not take it seriously and thinks another Dotard presidency will end in 2029 is NOT PAYING ATTENTION!

For his entire adult life, Trump has made it obvious that he is not an honorable man. He has no value system, no integrity. He does not act in good faith on any topic at any time. He has not a single redeeming quality. Trump is in it for Trump. End of story.

He and JD Vance both are owned by billionaires who don't believe in American style democracy. They seem determined to destroy the American ideal of one person, one vote. They would just as soon turn our system over to technocrats, self-styled societal CEOs who want to make the rules for everybody in their little fiefdoms. Yeah, good luck with that. Eberly needs it paraphrased so it comes out the way he wants it to be. He needs the full context explained to him, which is what you (Gunslinger) did in #61. Apparently Eberly hasn't been paying attention for the past 8 years.

In his defense he did say he's not voting for Trump, and I believe he's said he's going to vote for Harris. So this is more an argument in cementing in a disbelief that anyone would be able to overthrow our democratic republic the way Trump has said he would. Repeatedly.

But everyone else? We're all children. Everyone but Eberly, or Trump supporters (of which there are none on this thread - for odd some reason /s).

There is absolutely no defense of Trump on this thread. Especially from me.

I'm trying to get you to truly see his strategy here.

You're unable to see how you're being manipulated into responding to statements like this that you can't really commit to what he really means which is EXACTLY what trump wants.

To be talked about. And sooner or later you get someone like Twinpac to outright accuse him of what he intends to do.

Then he assigns the most radical conclusion drawn to everyone. Which cements his support.

The worse it gets the better for him.

Trump WANTS to be accused wanting to eat our children with Ketchup. So then he goes to the internet and makes monsters out of those who accuse him of it. Which will be everyone that's not a supporter.

He's not the first Republican to do this but he's willing to take it much much further than anyone before.

Trump views Yav, Twinpac, Clown, etc as ASSETS. Not adversaries

I'm not predicting what Trump will or will not do once president.

BINGO. This is what I was alluding to when I said the worst types of Trump supporters are the ones who are oblivious to how they're supporting him.

@#82 ... This is what I was alluding to when I said the worst types of Trump supporters are the ones who are oblivious to how they're supporting him. ...

That's an interesting twist on fmr Pres Trump's not being able to deal with those who criticize him --- label those who criticize him as actually supporting him.

#83 | Posted by LampLighter at 2024-07-28 01:15 PM | Reply | Newsworthy 2

"Yeah, here's the deal. Folks making excuses, all that claptrap implying I can interpret it any way I want, what do I think he means, fascism is in the eye of the beholder, I am being trolled and falling for it yet again, so I'm the fool, so I'm the one who's brainwashed, yada yada yada ... you know what? Eff that. Mind games. Trump may be a troll, but whatever. I'm gonna call him out on it every time. Does anybody really think if I don't give him attention, or the media or whoever doesn't give him attention, he's gonna go away? Call him out and expose him for the fraud he is. Make sure everybody knows that his enablers are frauds too. And by enablers, I mean anybody who supports or even simply makes light of what a scourge he is on our country."

This is almost word for word verbatim for how certain people have responded for decades when others tell them "Don't Feed The Troll". They're like "Eff that, I'm gonna respond to every single piece of bait the troll throws out because I can't let him get away with that, and i can't believe anyone one is suggesting I'm an ----- for wanting to EXPOSE the truth about the troll, in fact anyone criticizing us for giving the troll knee-jerk responses on demand much be in cahoots with him."

@#79 ... Trump WANTS to be accused wanting to eat our children with Ketchup. So then he goes to the internet and makes monsters out of those who accuse him of it. Which will be everyone that's not a supporter. ...

I view it similar to fmr Pres Trump picking Sen Vance as his VP candidate.

Such tactics definitely appeal to the cult members he already has.

But will those tactics win over new cult members?

This only confirms what we all knew. Trump will be a dictator and kill our democracy. The problem is Fox and the other popular pro Maga propaganda news outlets are never going to report this to their followers. Worse they twist installing a dictator as being American and patriotic.

Let me put it to Eberly and Sentinel a different way, then.
What's the Eberly/Sentinel approved way to discuss, on a blog, the horrendous plans to overthrow our system of government? The plans that are reinforced daily by Trump's own words?

I am open to effective suggestions.

Also I'm kind of surprised you two think this anonymous forum has that much power.

It has zero power. I'm speaking to the authors and platforms of the articles referenced on this place. Not this place itself.

He was the biggest ------- in history and he gained 10 million more votes when he ran the 2nd time.

He lost, of course. But this is his strategy. Troll the left with comments like this and get the Yavshacks of the world to conclude he declared he's going to eliminate elections and the constitution.

Not them specifically but people that have an audience.

And then cast them as monsters. It's pretty easy for him.

Say "you don't have to vote next election if you vote in this election". That's it. Everyone else will do the work.

There's nothing usual about today's deplorable, MAGA infused, Trumpublican Party.

Fmr Pres Trump almost succeeded on January 6, but fmr VP Pence, to his credit, would not go along.

Now fmr Pres Trump has a VP candidate who says he would go along (could that have been fmr Pres Trump's sole criterion for choosing a VP on the ticket?)

Trumpanzee was just future-faking with his remark. Promising his presence will erase all the things that bother them for the rest of their lives. It wasn't unlike his "so much winning" schpiel. His speeches are full of such nonsense.

@#112 ... was just future-faking with his remark. ...

Regardless of the reason why he might have said that comment, I have another issue.

What politician tells voters they do not need to vote?

My view is that a politician would want the most number of voters to go to the polls, and that politician would want to convince those voters that he deserves their vote.

What is the problem with the GOP of late that they actively seem to want, even prevent, people from voting?

@#114 ... He's an old, washed up game show host. ...

Funny thing.

Yesterday I was changing some scripts on my home network. After making a change, I had some time to kill while I waited for the script to finish So I turned on the TV.

What came up but an old TV episode (Suddenly Susan, or something like that) from 1996 that had a cameo of then private citizen Trump. The dialog seemed to indicate they actors were presented him with an opportunity. The opportunity read, ~Trump for President 1996.~

OK, needless to say, I did a double-take.

So fast-forward to now. I find this...

Secret police file: Trump sure of presidential win _ in 1996 (January 2017)
apnews.com

... Nearly 30 years ago, Donald Trump was confident he would win the U.S. presidential election -- as an independent in 1996, according to recently uncovered files from Czechoslovakia's Communist-era secret police.

Czechoslovakia was the home nation of Trump's first wife, Ivana, a model, athlete and businesswoman who became the mother of his three oldest children: Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric. ...

OK, that's all I saw about that.

But in my exploration, I found this...

A look back at Trump's first run (2015)
thehill.com

... t was a fascinating campaign swing. There was "The Tonight Show" and Michael Bolton. There was a reception in a swank hotel where those attending stuffed food in their pockets and where two guys hired escorts to be their dates in order to appear classy. The next day, there was a museum event and a Tony Robbins pay-for-play, pump-it-up event complete with pyrotechnics that we in the media watched to see if they would ignite the candidate's hair on fire.

It was 1999, and Donald Trump was running for president, sort of, in what now can be cast as his dress rehearsal for the current effort. Almost all that he has showed in 2015 was very clear during those few months of 1999.

Few paid attention then.

In 1999, Trump quit the Republican Party to join the Reform Party and seek that party's presidential nomination. As he used to say back then about women around the world, he clearly believed "he had a shot" at the nomination -- and he just may have. ...
