My prediction, Trump will debate. He's in trouble in the polls and there's nowhere to go but up.

"It's 100 percent that he's going to debate," Scaramucci told CNN's Anderson Cooper on 'AC360,' I'll make that prediction here. He's a wrestler, you know, he's like a UFC thing. He's going to say he's not going to debate. He knows he lost the debate and he knows he's debating her again, but he has to have a buildup," said Scaramucci, who served 11 days in the Trump administration. "He think it's a negotiating chip. He's trying to show his macho flex."

Lol! No crickets here.

Kamala didn't do that amazing of a job. She was nervous, at least at first, and just re-hashed her stump speeches while ducking questions, as is SOP in most debates.

Your guy, on the other hand, defecated himself on stage and started eating it by the handful while muttering about foreigners at our gates and Black people eating pets. Told one ridiculous lie after another, even about the 2020 election that he soundly lost and the 60 court cases on that election which he also lost, many of them on the merits.

One thing I will say Kamala excelled at during the debate was getting Trump to lash out like a toddler, revealing himself in all his putrescence.

The man has serious mental issues, and his old age has only made them worse. I genuinely worry for our nation if he somehow ends up in the Oval Office again.

CNN is a grossly politically biased venue. They refused to even show the invasion of 15 million illegals and they lied, just like the Biden Cabinet...the border is secure. Either go with a neutral (Fair and Balanced) venue like FOX or nothing. Fox showed the illegal invasion from day one and they show a lot of other non biased news that CNN covered up.

How about a debate on Fox, fact check both candidates and no one gets the questions ahead of time? Crickets.

Wasn't the Trumpers' first gripe that Kamala didn't even bother to answer the questions she was asked? If so, then what questions do you think she knew in advance? Crickets.

Trump never gave a single substantive answer to a single question, so it wouldn't do him any good to know all the questions because his lizard brain doesn't do detail, it only spews invectives and non sequitur nonsense along with an endless demented stream of consciousness gibberish never connected to the topic at hand.

Fox never extended an invitation, so your question is moot. They've had weeks to ask both candidates to appear for a debate. Why haven't they?

They're trying to protect Trump from his worst vices. They know he'll only get curb-stomped further by Harris and don't want to get blamed for it afterwards - as Trump is sure to do if the moderators don't actively show every conceivable bias in his favor.

... The anonymous account's initial post included no evidence to support its claim.

The affidavit the account later shared, on Sept. 15, was impossible to authenticate and made unsubstantiated claims that it provided no evidence to support.

The affidavit's author claims to have secret recordings of conversations that would prove the allegations, but those have not been released.

Nevertheless, the claims ricocheted around the internet and Trump, his Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance and members of Congress amplified them. ...

I stand corrected on Fox News not proposing another debate on their channel, they most certainly did.

But Trump wizzed in that punchbowl by handpicking the moderators he wanted and dismissing those chosen by Fox News itself, saying that he wouldn't participate if Baier and McCallum were the hosts.

I don't care what network any debate would be on if they showed some integrity and respect for their
profession.

for instance if I were a moderator I would read this....

" Just because you legally possess a gun in the sanctity of your locked home doesn't mean that we're not going to walk into that home and check to see if you're being responsible and safe in the way you conduct your affair."

Kamala Harris / district attorney.

I would then ask her why Willie Brown didn't explain the 4th amendment during "pillow talk "

--and that's all I have to say about that...because that comment alone from her disqualifies her

from being even a white house tour guide.

As far as answering questions go, she did what was expected in this type of political "debate." Avoided the tough stuff, didn't go down the "lock box" path of Al Gore or whip out charts like Ross Perot. Most importantly, she did a good job introducing herself to the viewers who were unfamiliar with her. Nothing that relied upon receiving the questions ahead of time.

Hey Gracie, even though I bust your chops sometimes - and we couldn't be more politically opposite if we tried - I'd never wish you anything but the best, and I mean that from my heart.

I was in your city in late February. My son got married at a vineyard in Callahan and we stayed in J-Ville for 3 nights. As with most people here, if we actually met - and recovered from the shock of seeing the living person doesn't have fire shooting from their eyes - we'd all probably like each other's company.

The reason I started blogging here 20 years ago was to have my ideas and notioned challenged by others with different perspectives. It took months before I'd interact with Tadowe, but I felt I usually held my own. Those days were a lot different than now after social media took off.

Anyway, I used to watch Antenna TV quite a lot years ago when I didn't have Directv Stream, but not so much today. I do watch Grit TV all the time lately which reminds me of my late adoptive father and his love of Westerns as I was growing up.

Sorry to go so off topic, but I needed to say a few things not out of spite, but simply out of human decency. In the immortal words of Dethspud, Be Well.

@#79 ... Is there is any validity to this claim? ...

Well, for starters, maybe post a link of what "you read."

Alex,

I didn't watch the entire debate.

She lost me when you avoided the first very question.

So I decided to read about it later.

What I mentioned above is what is being reported on more conservative sites.

Be specific. Which of the claims I made simply didn't happen?

#83 | Posted by BillJohnson at 2024-09-21 08:57 PM | Reply

Lamp,

I just told you what I've read.

Is it correct or not?

Doesn't matter where I read it.

Is it correct? Is there any truth to it?

I don't automatically accept everything I read so I'm asking this site if there is truth to it and which of the points are wrong.

Lamp,

Don't use the "post a link" routine to deflect my question.

Just looking for someone who is more knowledgable about the debate to respond to this claim being made on the conservative sites.

We chased lady luck, 'til we finally struck Bonanza.
With a gun and a rope and a hat full of hope, planted a family tree.
We got hold of a pot full of gold, Bonanza.
With a horse and a saddle, and a range full of cattle, how rich can a fellow be?

On this land we put our brand, Cartwright is the name, fortune smiled, the day we filed the Ponderosa claim.
Here in the West, we're livin' the best, Bonanza
If anyone fights any one of us, he's go a fight with me
Bonanza.

Hoss and Joe and Adam know every rock and pine, no one works, fights, or eats, like those boys of mine.
Here we stand in the middle of a grand Bonanza.
With a gun and a rope and a hat full of hope, we planted our family tree
We got hold of a pot full of gold, Bonanza.

With a houseful of friends where the rainbow ends, how rich can a fellow be?
On this land we put our brand, Cartwright is the name, fortune smiled, the day we filed the Ponderosa claim.
Here in the west we're livin' in the best Bonanza.

With the friendliest, fightingist, loving band, that ever set foot in the promised land
And we're happier than them all.
That's why we call it Bonanza...Bonanza...Bonanza...
Bonanza!

Following the debate, CNN's Daniel Dale reported Trump made at least 33 false claims during the debate, compared with one from Harris.

"This was a staggeringly dishonest debate performance from Trump. Just lie after lie on subject after subject," Dale said.

In fairness, Politifact goes into much more detail about every disputed statement or comment, finding Harris was misleading or false in statements, but that was because she said something like "Trump had the worst deficits" when in fact George W. Bush actually had worst at the end of his Administration. Trump's lies mostly had no validity at all, especially the ones he was verbally fact-checked on in real time.

Harris did not offer any patently false comments in the volume or manner Trump did.

Hey Bill, here is an irrefutable fact, not open to interpretation and not the subject of conspiracies.

Shitler spoke for 14% more time than Harris.

Now, please interpret that as being unfair to Shitler.

does anyone remember the handle of the poster who was a woman from PA who worked in healthcare? I haven't seen her post in a while, and I've been wondering what happened to her?

I thought her user name had PA in it. I think she worked in a medical lab. Maybe did some kind of medical research.

And let's be completely clear here on why Trump lies like he does and why he abhors moderators fact checking him on the spot.

He is a master at the Gish Gallop fallacy technique, where one tells so many lies or mistruths in a back-and-forth debate that the other person will spend all of their time responding to what he said, instead of getting their own points and viewpoints across to the audience. It puts Trump's opponent at a disadvantage and him in the dominant position of basically controlling what's being addressed.

Again, this is why fact checking Trump is the equivalent of shining natural sunlight on a vampire. As you saw if you watched the debate, he immolated on live tv.

Oh, wait, now that I'm thinking about it I think her user name had Keystone in it. PA is the Keystone state.

Why is Pennsylvania called the Keystone State?

I am reading Harris was not fact checked once and Trump was fact checked multiple times and of those some have been proven to be correct although the moderators called him out for being wrong.

Is there is any validity to this claim?

Just answer yes or no.

Yes this is a valid claim. In fact it was part of the affidavit I mentioned above. She was offered No fact check, and no discussion about situation with Biden.
My guess is this was all part of the Harris mics off bid, negotiated.

It's a fact all the negotiations were ABC alone with Harris team, no Trump team at meetings. This is really incredible and looks especially suspicious.

Following the debate, CNN's Daniel Dale reported Trump made at least 33 false claims during the debate, compared with one from Harris.

Harris lied about Trump constantly it was a plethora of hoaxes, one after the other

"bloodbath", "fine people hoax", his stance on a "abortion", dictator on day one.

And I bet she doesn't own a firearm.

Trump's lies mostly had no validity at all, especially the ones he was verbally fact-checked on in real time.

Trump correctly stated crime has rise, the moderator was incorrect. This is the problem with fact checking moderators especially when biased.

Data backs up Trump on crime increase, violence up under Biden-Harris administration
