"President Donald Trump is trying to claim power over federal agencies that Congress made independent from the executive brancch"

Exactly as if there is really no such thing as Congress to annoy or impeded Donald Trump.

Yes, the man is a dictator.

Let us clearly and honestly label him as that here, in this forum, while this forum is legally allowed to exist.

Independent had been the crucial word.

MAGAs hate themselves as much as they hate anyone else.

There's no evidence that they take pride in anything.

I don't know about that zed.

They seem pretty happy to see American getting dismantled piece by piece before our eyes.

Joyful and triumphant even.

It's like they are not really Americans at all. It's almost like they are Russian bots. Especially that Robotson dude. But DingDong and Visitard and lefthandturd sound like they are repeating Pravda propaganda here almost every post.

Wow... the man looks rough. Playing second fiddle to Senior Co-President and DOGE Lord Commander Elon is wearing him down fast.

Time to Water the Tree.

Maga are Scum. Let the Games begin.

Resistance, Anyone?

Congress has Abdicated their proper role.... to
Placate a Tyrant.

I don't see the Founders doing that. They would be standing up.

Where is American Courage?

When did we become so Supine?

So the people that claim everything is political are saying the FCC and SEC aren't political?

Did anyone goto jail over the housing bust?

Did the FCC jam through Soros bid for Radio dominance?

But now, now people are claiming its "independent". LOL Sure.

I was listening to Carville a couple of nights ago and he argued that something was welling up and it was, as he termed it, "organic." He also advised politicians to just stand out of the way. (They usually follow anyway.)

His words brought to my mind the opposition to the Vietnam War. It started out small, scattered, and then grew. I know, that was then and this is now, it's a different situation and so on.

But I can't shake Carville's idea about an "organic" movement - of which the Civil Rights Revolution and Antiwar Movement stand out. Hopefully, something akin may be in the offing. Starts small, making contacts, forging networks, talking, not being afraid.

Well, that may be, and I support it.

But...

That is when another front against our rights will open-the freedom of assembly and the freedom to petition the government will be assailed.

This administration is hoping and praying for protests because they will come down hard on them.

And when a few protestors show up with guns, we will see what ------- REALLY thinks of the 2nd Amendment. And no, nothing that threatens his power will be allowed to exist.

"Calling John Roberts... Justice Roberts to the Front Desk, please!".

If he's our only hope, it's a pretty hopeless situation. The Republicans in Congress are cowards and traitors.

Again... Thanks, Trumpers!

Leon is behind all of this. All these pesky independent oversight agencies just get in the way of his ability to conduct business without oversight. Talking of oversight, I guess the House Oversight committee is still investigating Hunter's laptop and who took Gym Jordan's suitcoat. They will get to the president's peccadillos as soon as a Dem is elected president, or there is a shift of control in the House in 2026, whichever happens first--or at all...

Sooooo when are the MAGA turds gonna say enough is enough with all the EOs Trump is writing to amass more power than Constitutionally allowed? When are they going to fight for the separation of powers and speak out against the infringement of the executive into the legislative branch?

Carville's instincts have always been good, and I think he's right. I feel it too. People who have been quiet for most of their lives and for most of their time on social media are speaking out. They are calling their members of Congress, they are joining informal groups, they are marching, they are strategizing on goals and tactics.

You're so right, what is wrong with a couple trillion in fraud and waste. I can't understand why anyone would want to clean it up, unless you're someone who collects the checks and doesn't pay taxes.

I oppose the concept of "independent agencies". In a constitutional democratic republic they have no place. Nevertheless, they are a creation of Congress and signed in to law. Not something that can be undone by EO.

MAGA appears to be a cult that is devoid of independent thought and requires you to swear allegiance to the cult leader. Even the slightest opposition will earn death threats just like those received by the J6 convict who rejected a pardon and spoke out against them.

You don't know what you're talking about. You're simply repeating things that you read on right wing media sources.

This is Hunter Biden's email all over again.

You didn't need any proof of its existence to believe what you were told, you don't need proof from Republicans about anything now.

You simply accept what they tell you as a fact, and move on with your stupid life.

Tear it all down.

I keep saying, we need a heavy reminder of what a norm breaker and non follower of the law can do to ruin our country.

It's like an NFL team - has to hit rock bottom before it can build back up.

Then maybe people will realize.

Just shut up raetard. You had no issues with Biden or Obammy's EOs and you certainly had no issues with Biden's over 8000 pardons - of which many were for people who have never been charged with a crime.

You lost because you put a DEI candidate no one voted for in for an election to replace a dementia addled man who's handlers had been lying about Weekend At Bernie's situation for several years. You and that rank, putrid bunch of people you call a "party" was ran out of DC with $chitty mops and you don't deserve a say in anything this administration is doing. You thought it was funny to bring AR 15s to President Trumps home and go through his wife's panty drawers. You thought it was funny watching that dried up old prune accuse him of things she couldn't even remember. Go get in the Klown Kar before you get left behind because the real world isn't going to be kind to twits like you.

Suddenly now it's acceptable.

Trump Seeks Control of Independent Agencies

As ominous as this and his other authoritarian moves area, the most ominous are the rumored removable of all of the military leadership: the generals and admirals.

Trump jokingly speaks about a third term but he is dead serious. He throws out these bombshells to see what type of pushback he gets. If the pushback is tepid, he interprets that as a green light.

Congress grants POTUS the right to adjourn Congress. This power has never been exercised. Trump will be the first to do so if Congress tries to hold him accountable for any impeachable offense.
