Determined to preserve the nation's history, some 100 members of Congress, mostly Democrats, have taken it upon themselves to memorialize the moment. For months, they've mounted poster board-style replicas of the Jan. 6 plaque outside their office doors, resulting in a Capitol complex awash with makeshift remembrances.

Well, at least someone gives a rat's butt.
But MAGAts?

The main point is that democrats lied about j6, exagerated it, and then weaponized this story of an "attack" "worse than 911" actually said by people... and they used this fake story they made up to attack people, jail people, and drive people to suicide.
There was no insurrection, or at least not by the people who showed up to protest the election where a dementia ridden 80 year old was installed into office w mail in ballots, and people voting thinking Trump was a russian agent..

#31 | Posted by john_savage1 at 2026-01-06 03:44 PM | Reply

The real insurrection was people like Nancy Pelosi conspiring to exploit the large crowd that day to create a tale of insurrection in hopes to get Trump elimitated from the 2024 election. All the details are there. States like Colorado attempted to leverage the 14th amendment, and remove Trump from ballots. Suggesting he had "led an insurrection"

Trump however was a mere guest speaker, and the entire narrative is false. If you were wer eto lay out your version of j6, I guarantee it's full of lies. Why people even listen to you ------- baffles me.

>The presidential election in Venezuela took place on 28 July 2024. It ended with proven fraud: Chavista incumbent Nicols Maduro allegedly won with 51.95 per cent of the votes cast compared to 43.18 per cent for the opposition candidate, Edmundo Gonzlez. In a brilliantly prepared process, supported by volunteers in 58,000 volunteer groups, the clever opposition obtained copies of around 85 per cent of the election files (Spanish: actas de escrutinio'), the results from over 30,000 polling stations in the country, digitised them on election night and calculated the true result as an estimate from this huge sample: around 67 per cent for Gonzlez and just 30 per cent for Maduro, proving clear electoral fraud by the Maduro regime!

With all due respect. You're an idiot.
There were all kinds of investigations. Arizona's GOP ran legislature hired 4 separate firms to run audits. I remember Trumpers crowing about how the Cyberninjas would expose it all and overturn the result. The only thing the audit firms uncovered was some minor discrepancies that increased Biden's victory by 360 votes. Remember Mike Lindell claiming that voting machines in Idaho were hacked? He even had the IP addresses of the machines. Republican officials in Idaho researched it and found the machines had not been connected to a network and that several of the counties Crackhead Mike had claimed had hacked voting machines do not even use voting machines.

Or are you only opposed to election fraud in other countries?

And, to be clear, I am completely opposed to rigged elections by anyone. But I do not believe that it is the US's responsibility to police the other people's elections, especially not enforcing them / overthrowing them with force.

But since you seem to believe it IS the US's responsibility to enforce fair elections, why has Trump not captured Putin?

By absolutely no measurable metric can you compare J6 to 9-11.

You can argue it was unprecedented. Unsuccessfully...... but you can try, nonetheless.

Which is why it took only 5 years for this to turn into almost no significance any longer.

And electing the leader of an insurrection president a 2nd time AFTER the attempted insurrection pretty much took care of the significance of J6.

I predicted J6 would have little significance but I didn't imagine Trump coming back into the WH when I predicted that.

Never let these ------- forget that they've lied repeatedly about J6. It simply was not a planned attack, or insurrection.

There's not much need to go beyond that. The pipe bomber is of utmost importance to this. They had every bit of evidence to track down that person, and arrest them. BUT THEY DIDN'T. They didn't even have a suspect until a week after claims went around that it was potentially a female capitol police officer who then went to work for the CIA as it were.
No tin foil required. This is the facts.

J6 was a "false flag" whatever you want to call it.. it was inorganic. And clearly the goal was to get rid of Trump from american politics. At this point we know for 100% that Trump did not lead an insurrection. That is false. That is a lie perpetrated by these people.
They affected a massive psyop on the american public, and had people looking at their peers who voted trump as domestic terrorists... people dont even talk about this. They ruined people's relationships to fluff up the story for political gain. ---- these low iq vaxxie redditor -------.
J6 wasn't a true insurrection, but ir really probably should have been since they completely rigged the 2020 election.

#64 | Posted by john_savage1 at 2026-01-06 05:46 PM | Reply

After the call about the pipebombs had been placed the security at the DNC continued to let children walk right by the bench. They either didn't care that children blew up or knew that it was inert.

That blows up their whole case. It's very easy to understand : They created the insurrection domestic terrorist narrative... said Trump and his supporters were a threat to democracy over and over... and they used the pipe bombs to enhance charges, and sell their fictional story.

IF THE PIPE BOMBS WERE REAL... THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN AN ARREST IN DAYS. Not 5 years. There's zero explanation. Testimony states they had the person on video much of the time, had their transit card they used for the train to track their identity. Had their license plate... Total inside job, fake as ----.

Hence the need to pardon the J6 committee. They all committed treason, and pushed this false flag narrative on the public to affect the 2024 election; with zero care as to how it affected the tranquility of our society. We are all owed redress for our grievances.

1/6 was a coordinated effort by a significant number of Americans to overturn a lawful democratic election, driven by false beliefs and personal loyalty to Trump, revealing a dangerous erosion of democratic norms and a susceptibility to authoritarian dynamics within the electorate.

1/6 wasn't just an attack on a building, it was an attack on shared reality, trust, and the basic agreement that rules matter and power changes hands peacefully.

1/6 demonstrated to Republicans that a substantial portion of their electorate would tolerate or excuse efforts to overturn democratic outcomes, reducing the electoral costs of authoritarian behavior and accelerating the party's shift away from democratic norms.

"Without Trump, there is no January 6th:
How Jim Jordan's work to undermine Jack Smith backfired
Published: Jan. 05, 2026

In a textbook example of a political plan backfiring, Congressman Jim Jordan's attempt to discredit Special Counsel Jack Smith instead produced damaging testimony that Jordan then tried to bury with a New Year's Eve document dump.

One revelation came from Smith's recounting of what then-Chief of Staff Mark Meadows told investigators about Jordan himself.

As Astolfi explained, "Meadows had apparently said that Jordan, when he contacted the White House that day, he appeared frightened by the violence that was unfolding at the Capitol. Meadows said that was out of character for Jordan. And Smith said that that fear made it clear that what was happening was serious and dangerous."

That revelation directly contradicts the subsequent efforts by Jordan and other Republicans to downplay the severity of the January 6th attack."

The world you're looking for here is equate, not compare. As events go, they're not particularly comparable. One was a coup attempt on the nation, the other was a terrorist attack on the nation.

If there never was a 9/11, and people were saying this was the biggest assault on Democracy since the JFK Assassination, maybe what we're saying about Jan 6 would make a little bit more sense to you?

"1/6 was a coordinated effort by a significant number of Americans to overturn a lawful democratic election, driven by false beliefs and personal loyalty to Trump, revealing a dangerous erosion of democratic norms and a susceptibility to authoritarian dynamics within the electorate.
1/6 wasn't just an attack on a building, it was an attack on shared reality, trust, and the basic agreement that rules matter and power changes hands peacefully.
1/6 demonstrated to Republicans that a substantial portion of their electorate would tolerate or excuse efforts to overturn democratic outcomes, reducing the electoral costs of authoritarian behavior and accelerating the party's shift away from democratic norms."

I'm not disagreeing with you but much of America does, in fact, disagree with you.

Because if Americans really believed that narrative then there would have been a minimum of 100 million votes AGAINST Trump in the last election.

What did we get? 6 million fewer votes against him AFTER he pulled J6....while Trump gets the same number.

Why can't you accept that tens of millions of American simply prefer Fascism to the boring old status quo the Republicans offered before Trump?

That's very easy to grasp.

-9/11 didn't weaken our democracy. 1/6 did.

maybe you were in the 3rd grade when 9-11 happened, but more people insisted they were lied to by a president than maybe anytime since Johnson during Vietnam.

Including senators and folks with the highest access to intelligence in congress.

And this was after the 2000 election which you've all forgotten about.

THAT was the biggest event to weaken democracy in the last 100 years, probably.

-Ashli Babbitt deserved and needed to die. In hindsight, so did a lot more of them.

I said on the very day this happened that if this is as serious as everyone was making it then why weren't we shooting these people when they breached the US Capitol.

Of course the point was made that if these people were brown, there would be a bunch of dead protestors......which is probably true.

Its terrible to say but there simply weren't enough dead people.

" Maybe find some boy's sledding at the park and tell them they need to pop off their dongs?"

Confession, or projection?!?

Tell me honestly who you think read more books last year - kamala or trump?

When your enemy is really bad, you don't need to lie about them. The truth is damning enough. Like this: www.youtube.com

How are you all handling your post J6 hangover? A little hair of the dog? Maybe find some boy's sledding at the park and tell them they need to pop off their dongs?

#161 | Posted by BellRinger

How are you handling yours? Toweling off the flopsweat and thanking god that you wont have to discuss trump's fascist coup attempt for another year?

so imagine what the lying mother lovers in YOUR SOURCES here did to LIE about what happened....

#148 | Posted by shrimptacodan

Are you talking about trump's own team members who went UNDER OATH?

Why couldnt trump go under oath and refute their testimony?

Maybe because you want to use that as a last resort - unlike today in Minnesota where ICE just killed an American citizen - unarmed.

And Ashley Bobbitt - during this last resort - did not follow orders when told to stop and retreat.

And you do realize the issue you would have had if your scenario happened - it happened to just one intruder and it's the poster child for "we did nothing wrong". Killing hundreds?

The people securing the Captiol that day should be commended on how they conducted themselves.

I am sure Trump's thugs would not be so nice.

It wasn't an inssurection on the rioters' part - agreed. It was simply people brainwashed - by Trump and company - and they caused a riot (with the intent to stop the tranfer of power). Surely breaking the law.

The insurrection was Trump and his pals - before, during, and after January 6.

-Maybe because you want to use that as a last resort

This is what confuses me. People go back and forth on just exactly what J6 was.

Upthread it's been make clear it was an insurrection. An attempt to overthrow the United States Government, our election, our Constituion....and fukkin KILL people.

Armed individuals were overpowering law enforcement with the intent to attack our Congressional representatives and overturn a legitimate election.

Not a few....but hundreds of them.

-And Ashley Bobbitt - during this last resort - did not follow orders when told to stop and retreat.

All of them were told that. Not just her.

Geez.....I think folks are still trying to convince themselves what J6 was. They say it was what I just referenced and then when I suggest that defense of our Capitol and the folks inside it deserved better protection than what they got. They should have starting shooting anybody who got inside the building.

And what happens next? We reduce it back to being a fraternity party that got out of hand.

-The people securing the Captiol that day should be commended on how they conducted themselves.

And if even 1 member of congress had gotten shot, then this conversation would be 100% different. Everyone would be blaming the security for not securing the Capitol by firing at the violent insurrectionists who made it clear they were going to overthrow our constitution and how they should have shot those violent criminals when they entered the building.

Law Enforcement and security was supposed to know that at the time?

So, it was just a little prank and we should just humor these kids until they run out of steam and go home?

I'm not disagreeing with you but much of America does, in fact, disagree with you.

I don't necessarily think they disagree with what really happened on J6.

People prioritize their needs - they'll accept a person like Trump if their wallet is refreshed.

In general - people aren't going to say I don't know where my next meal is coming from - but I love that Constitution!

Our lawmakers failed us when it comes to Trump.

I don't think you understood what I wrote.

I commend policework where you don't shoot first, ask questions later.

There top priority was to get Congress and staff to safe areas and try to control the situation/riot without killing anyone. In that regard - Trump is very fortunate.

Trump - of course - didn't help by ignoring the sitauation for hours - unimaginable.

I assume - by your comments - if you had been there you would have opened fire from the start.

Normally I would but at the US Capitol Building chock full of elected leaders? Physically assaulting law enforcement, armed?

IMO, I think they should have been stopped at the door.......with lethal action. No way they should have been allowed in the building.

If they had been Islamic? If anyone had gotten shot? we'd all be saying "WTF was wrong with the cops??? How could they let them in??"

An argument could be made they should have been shot on the steps after ignoring orders to disperse.

#176 - all valid points.

And that's where being in law enforcement you are required to make decisions. And then there are outcomes.

What they did - and what you would have done - are different.

I think luckily for our country, and Trump, your scenario did not happen.

Look at today - an ICE agent killed a US citizen.

But that didn't happen - results.

And one person killed (intruder), considering it was a riot on the Capitol consisting of hundreds- I again praise what they did.

If you're brainwashed to participate in an insurrection, you're still an insurrectionist. You're just also gullible and stupid.

Considering what they were doing, where they were doing it, and the timing of it.......all that made them extremely dangerous people.

But I guess I'm alone in this.

It's a national security issue to me.

It's just politics to everyone else.

"It's a national security issue to me."

Yeah that's the part where it's ... different from 9/11.
9/11 was a failure of national security.
Jan 6 is an ongoing national security issue.
