Jimmy Kimmel Returns: ABC Ends Suspension Starting Tuesday

Jimmy Kimmel will have more to say on late-night TV.

Disney and ABC will bring the comedian back to its schedule starting Tuesday night. "Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive," "the company said in a statement. "We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday."

Matt Drudge's site has a big headline "Disney Defies Trump".

I hope this does doesn't indicate they're going to renew the Son of Doctor Who reboot.

Also. Seems like a cause for celebration. We could use some bananas Rcade. If you aren't afraid of being "canceled" that is.

What, that everyone that claims we live under a Fascist is a liar?

Every normal person knows this already.

Charlie Kirk knows you won't watch Kimmel but a day or two; you still watching Colbert? Nah... because they are boring as F**k!

For the past few days, the narrative has been the Trump controlled FCC forced this.

Now, It's a middle finger to the Trump controlled FCC?

"Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive," "the company said in a statement. Isn't it possible Disney & ABC was telling the truth?

I'm not going to watch Jimmy Kimmel.

I'm not boycotting it or anything, it's just that the reception isn't very good on the TV in your mom's bedroom.

Excellent as now that biased left-leaning, pro-Dem 'wannabe news' company will continue to lose money in that time-slot....

FYI: From GOOGLE AI:

"Kimmel's viewership [from Google AI: "In September 2025, "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" averaged around 1.1 million total viewers."

Meanwhile 'back at the ranch:

"In the second quarter of 2025, Greg Gutfeld's program Gutfeld! averaged 3.289 million total viewers, making it the most-watched late-night program on television during that period, significantly surpassing broadcast competitors like The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. This strong performance continued into July 2025, with an average of about 3.1 million viewers." : )

He was betrayed by those he was close to.

Persecuted for his beliefs.

Publicly crucified to serve as a cautionary tale to his followers.

Then, by divine grace, he was resurrected.

The people rejoiced.

Needless to say, I'm referring to Jimmy Kimmel.

This thread is light.

It's because it sort of hurt the fascism theory.

I'm guilty of it. I believed the FCC commissioner comments were the main reason. ABCs affiliate's merger deal was the leverage.

But....is it?

It now appears ABC was merely reacting to what they felt would be a huge fallout from its viewers over Kimmel's comments.

Democrats React to Jimmy Kimmel's Return From Suspension
www.newsweek.com

... Democrats, including California Governor Gavin Newsom, reacted to the news Monday afternoon that Jimmy Kimmel is being reinstated to host his ABC late-night show.

Some took shots at Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr, who publicly warned that broadcasters airing content like Kimmel's could face regulatory review, a statement critics argued was intended to pressure networks into compliance.

Why It Matters

The decision to pull Kimmel from the air came as national debate on political memorials, free-speech protections and responses to political violence followed conservative activist Charlie Kirk's September 10 assassination. ...

What To Know

Newsom posted to X on Monday in reaction to the move, "Thank you to everyone but @BrendanCarrFCC. This is a win for free speech everywhere."

Democratic influencer Harry Sisson wrote on X, "BREAKING: Jimmy Kimmel's show will return on September 23rd! Disney and ABC were terrified of the boycotts and they caved to the people. Your voice is effective. Huge win!"

He said in a separate post, "MAGA is in total shambles over Jimmy Kimmel getting reinstated. The boycotts worked and they hate it!"

Chris Jackson, a Democratic Party activist, posted, "Kimmel is back! Cry more, Donald! He said in a separate post, "Let this be a warning to every spineless executive thinking about caving to MAGA threats: the other side pays your salaries too -- if not more. Don't forget who's really keeping your lights on." ...

Isn't it possible Disney & ABC was telling the truth?

No. They wouldn't have said the show was being put on hiatus indefinitely and then have brought it back immediately after public outrage if that statement was true.

Disney has lost billions of dollars and countless Disney+ subscriptions. Many who will never return.

That's why they're bringing Kimmel back and putting out that public statement as damage control.

They've decided to fight the FCC rather than keep losing money. The billions lost could have easily bought Trump. Putin got him for much much less.

Hell, they lost more money than they spent buying Star Wars and Lucas films.

It's because it sort of hurt the fascism theory.

How?

It reinforced the fact capitalism is the only motivation for corporations to do anything in America.

Disney will now have to fight Trump and the FCC.

Kimmel, as far as I can tell, has a lot of support from Americans of all political spectrums.

Trump going after him for what amounts to nothing blew up in his face.

Even the man with the ugly wife, Rafael Cruz, spoke out against it.

So let's get this straight:

Jimmy Kimmel criticizes the far-right.

ABC says he's back on air.

And Sinclair run by a guy who personally dropped $250K into Turning Point USA tells him he can only be broadcast if he donates to Turning Point USA himself.

UPDATE: Sinclair is NOT going to broadcast Jimmy Kimmel, even though ABC is resuming production.

Sinclair has demanded that Kimmel personally donate to Turning Point USA, a right-wing political organization.

David Smith, executive chairman of Sinclair, donated 250K to Turning Point USA last year.

...
[Verse 1]
You say the hill's too steep to climb
Chiding
You say you'd like to see me try
Climbing
You pick the place and I'll choose the time

[Chorus]
And I'll climb the hill in my own way
Just wait a while for the right day
And as I rise above the tree line and the clouds
I look down, hear the sound of the things you said today...

Here in Connecticut I cannot receive my local CT-based AC network station because Nexstar apparently demanded too much money of my cable provider to carry the station.

So, it seems that Nexstar is not at all concerned about the people they serve.
