To my Democrat friends. This isnt a "blue wave". Most of the elections today are for Democrat strongholds. There are no Republican led states or cities having elections. You are only electing who we knew would win. I mean, who else would win Virginia? It's full of Democrats.

Glad this went the way it did. Living nearby I got to see the ads.

The Republican ad was the Republican candidate in front of cops at a roadblock, while pointing out his opponents was soft on crime.

The Democrat ad was a white woman actor, not the candidate, with a voice-over saying women might not be able to get an abortion if the Republican wins.

It was heavily polarizing. I thought the Democrats could have done better. Perhaps they didn't think they needed to.

Virginia has made its choice. They have clearly spoken and said that the democrats are not evil.
First Female governor-elect.
And Ghazala Hashmi is the new Lieutenant Governor, becoming the first Muslim American and first Indian American to win a statewide office in the state.
Overwhelming democratic control of the legislature.
Just a few dramatic "changes" off the top..

Then, tell us how this impacts the rest of the country.

Political analysts said the election would serve as a barometer of attitudes toward President Donald Trump and Democrats' attempts to regain their footing on the national stage.

And then there is this. We know where they are coming. To red states.

Real estate agents are being bombarded with calls this morning from panicked New Yorkers desperate to flee after Zohran Mamdani's mayoral victory last night.

Two key destinations are already emerging: New York's affluent suburbs and Republican strongholds across the Sunbelt.

Agents from Westchester and Greenwich to Florida, Texas, and the Carolinas say they're seeing a surge in calls from city residents desperate to relocate - some within commuting distance, while others looking to get as far away as they can.

'We are seeing interest from New York City intensify because of the election,' Dina Goldentayer, a Douglas Elliman agent in Florida, told the Daily Mail.

By the largest margin in decades.

Republicans need to be congratulated for their brilliant strategy.

Fire hundreds of thousands federal workers illegally and then close the federal government during a critical election in Virginia. And then tell the folks who no longer have a paycheck or even SNAP to pound sand. So that they have nothing else to do but make sure they express how they feel about that by voting.

I bet the Democrats really appreciate the help.
