Don Lemon captured anti-ICE protesters storming a church and confronting a pastor who they believed works as an immigration agent during a chaotic scene that sabotaged the church's service on Sunday. Lemon recorded the protesters during a livestream on his YouTube program. The protesters ran into Cities Church in Minneapolis and started screaming and chanting slogans like "Hands Up, Don't Shoot!" and "ICE OUT" repeatedly. "They've stopped the service [and] a lot of people, a number of people have left," Lemon reported.

Wait, whoa, stop right there. Sabotaged the service?!? WRONG PLACE, or WRONG TIME.

This smells of a media event, especially knowing Don Lemon is attached.

Church Leaders Shaken After a Man Was Detained in Their Parking Lot (June 2025)
www.nytimes.com

... A group of armed men in face coverings detained a Latino man outside a church in the Los Angeles suburb of Downey and took him away on Wednesday, in what pastors believed was a federal immigration raid.

The Rev. Tanya Lopez, senior pastor of Downey Memorial Christian Church, said she was in her office on Wednesday when three SUVs with tinted windows pulled up to her church. Then, Ms. Lopez said, five men, some wearing badges and tan bulletproof vests that said "POLICE," rushed out of the vehicles and detained a man in the parking lot.

The men, Ms. Lopez said, refused to identify which agency they worked for, and they did not share their names or badge numbers when asked. Their vehicles had out-of-state license plates. They also did not provide a warrant, she said.

They took the man into a black SUV. And, Ms. Lopez said that as she shouted instructions in Spanish to the man inside the vehicle, an agent drew a rifle at her. ...

Add "during a service", and I agree with you.

Outside, as the congregation is leaving? Fine by me.

Picketing before the service started? First Amendment says Yes.

But DURING a worship service? I agree with Boaz: despicable.

But once outside, well then the right for peaceful protest applies. So, imo, possibly, not "fine by me."

Civil wars start when one side sees violence as a way to achieve it's objectives and the Other resists with Force.

Government using Violence to repress the population and the populace shooting back.

Or, Armed insurrection against a weak and passive government that doesn't respond to citizens needs.

Many different permutations are possible.

ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), in an ever-expanding unconstitutional crime spree, is ushering in the Christmas season by launching immigration raids inside churches across the country. Trump's holiday gift to the nation is the administration's new policy that it is legal to enter churches as people worship and round them up in the immigration raids happening from coast to coast.

It's not just libs protesting ICE, it's a lot of different Americans.

The original article is from Mediate, and I pretty much agree with the way they laid it out; ending with old guy who agrees with the protests, but not in a church during a service.

That wasn't the way to expose the pastor if he was indeed an informant for ICE.

But I also don't blame the protestors for trying to out the guy, and it's not surprising that people mistakes; happens all the time.

The bible doesn't concern itself with societal treatment..

You should probably try actually reading it Commie Spyboy.

The Bible contains many passages addressing societal treatment, promoting justice, caring for the poor, welcoming foreigners, and defining moral conduct.

And though interpretations vary widely on its direct application to modern social structures like specific economic systems or political issues like LGBTQ+ rights, with some viewing it as foundational for social ethics (justice, compassion) while others see it as outdated or focused more on individual faith than systemic change.

I only need one Bible reference to prove you are wrong (again).

But here are three.
(Isaiah 58:6) Justice for the poor
(Proverbs 31:8-9) caring for vulnerable groups like widows and orphans
(Micah 6:8)emphasizing fair treatment, compassion, and breaking systems of oppression, moving beyond mere rituals to practical righteousness in daily life and law.

Han,

"I hope they perp walk Lemon for violating the FACE Act like biden did anti-abortion protestors"

The problem extends to more than just Lemon.

All the protestors who entered the church should be charged.

Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act of 1994 (commonly called the FACE Act). It was enacted by the U.S. Congress and signed by President Bill Clinton in May 1994.

What it does.

Makes it a federal crime to use force, threats, or physical obstruction to interfere with a person obtaining or providing reproductive health services " including at abortion clinics.

Also prohibits similar obstruction or violence against people exercising their First Amendment rights at places of religious worship (like churches) and protects those facilities from intentional damage or obstruction.

On June 20 federal agents picked up a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Montclair on church property, according to the National Catholic Reporter.

Which is worse, a group of random protesters or the federal government invading a church?

What Biden Did:

www.ice.gov

"We can accomplish our enforcement mission without denying or limiting individuals' access to needed medical care, children access to their schools, the displaced access to food and shelter, people of faith access to their places of worship, and more."

"A place of worship or religious study, whether in a structure dedicated to activities of faith (such as a church or religious school) or a temporary facility or location where such activities are taking place."

What Piggy Did:

www.dhs.gov

" Yesterday, Acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Benjamine Huffman issued two directives essential to ending the invasion of the US southern border and empower law enforcement to protect Americans.

The first directive rescinds the Biden Administration's guidelines for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) enforcement actions that thwart law enforcement in or near so-called "sensitive" areas"

MagatBill believes Piggy is more respective of churches than Biden

Biden is a real Christian.

That's why BullJohnson loathes him.

He prefers president Trump's bibles.

You know. Trump, the guy who had never seen the inside of a church he wasn't demolishing, until he needed idiots to vote for him.

Churches are supposed to be sanctuary for the oppressed. My God how far you've gotten in Trump's cult.

Obviously the protesters. See the FACE Act.

Whats the logic that the Federal Government can't enter a church looking for a criminal. Its hilarious you use the term "invading" but when righties use the term for Millions of illegal border crossings you go non-linear.

Are you saying they couldn't enter in event of a hostage situation, a shooting perhaps, much like happened 5 months ago in MN?
Are churches sacred ground that the federal laws don't apply?

Whats the law specifically?

Oppressed? Who was more oppressed last night, parishioners or the protesters?

Its also hilarious how the yard stick has been moved to "WHATABOUT" the federal government.

I see you idiots.

#97 And speaking of lying ...

#71 New York Penal Law 175.10 is made-up?

Sorry, onepigironheadedsmoothbrainaut.

The law isn't subject to your whimsical fantasies.

#76 | Posted by A_Friend

Increasing it to a felony is Federal jurisdiction.

#79 | Posted by oneironaut at 2026-01-10 06:49 PM

Then...
#79 That is, of course, a lie.

#83 | Posted by A_Friend at 2026-01-10 06:51 PM

Then ...
#79

New York Penal Law 175.10 defines Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree, a Class E Felony, which occurs when someone commits the misdemeanor of falsifying business records (NYPL 175.05) with an additional intent to defraud, which includes intending to commit another crime or to aid/conceal another crime's commission, escalating the charge from a misdemeanor to a felony, as seen in cases involving financial fraud or covering up underlying illegal acts.

Gosh, onepigironheadedsmoothbrainaut, I don't see anywhere in there about the Federal government.

Care to point it out, liar?

This story just came up on the local evening news while I was reading the comments here. They were interviewing a civil rights attorney, who I believe was part of the protest. She said the pastor invited the protesters into the church. The pastor shouted "Shame, Shame" at them. I missed some salient points as I was not paying attention until I realized it was this event they were discussing. I'll the check news website to followup on this story.

#101 Thanks, Chantresse.

I might recommend reviewing the links in my #56.

'Tis amazing that those on the Reich right side of the aisle refuse to acknowledge what's shown there.

Oh, and when I said yesterday that you're doing God's work, I was thinking about this.

members of the democrat party try to depict themselves as the part of compassion
and caring of the constitution...when it suits them....and an open debate..( long
as you agree with the despicable F/G trash...

if they had red hats on....the bigoted hypocrites here would be outraged....but

since it's leftist freaks and fanatics.....hey those scared children I saw leaving the church

are just collateral damage....LIKE EVERY WOMEN AND CHILD RAPED AND MURDERED BY ILLEGAL

#102 Just checked your links. Agree, those on the right side of the aisle like to ignore facts they don't fit their narrative. I've been off-line most of the day, but did check back on the thread where I asked Bellringer some questions. Of course, he ignored them just as I expected he would.

I have been watching movies from the 80s lately, I'll check to see where the Blues Brothers is streaming. Haven't seen it in quite a while.

Red,
"Lemons interview is respectful, imo."
He's trying to use "journalism" as his safety word.
We'll see. Respect has nothing to do with this.
They should all be charged.
#84 | Posted by BillJohnson at 2026-01-19 06:03 PM

After having watched the interview that is your take-away?

If that "pastor" is an ICE field coordination agent, don't you think it's hypocritical to act as a religious leader allegedly advocating Christ's words while arresting and murdering citizens, gassing and arresting children, shooting unarmed peaceful protestors and halting all economic activity for just a start?

Besides which Lemons interview was very polite. If you listened to the interview he states that he was brought along with a group of protestors and he had no idea this pastor was going to be protested.

Also, he wasn't even the first journalist inside.

Isn't it better to have discourse rather than terrorism? What would you charge Lemon with specifically?

What about the ICE "challenge coins"? Doesn't that immediately indicate incentive to terrorize?

Laura,

"Churches are supposed to be sanctuary for the oppressed. My God how far you've gotten in Trump's cult."

Since you have decided it's ok for liberals to use scripture to justify legal "rights", then you should not complain when pro-life people take a Biblical stance defending their beliefs and condemning those who support murdering the unborn.

Time and again I see liberals using scripture for their own objectives but frown at Conservatives doing the same.

Churches have a long history as sanctuaries, evolving from ancient Greco-Roman temples to medieval havens for criminals and the persecuted, formalized under Roman law, and later becoming key sites for the U.S. Sanctuary Movement in the 1980s for Central American refugees, continuing a tradition of offering refuge from violence and unjust persecution, though the practice remains debated today.
Ancient & Medieval Roots
Greco-Roman Origins: Before Christianity, temples in Greek and Roman societies offered protection to fugitives.
Roman Empire: Emperor Theodosius I (late 4th century) incorporated this concept into Roman law, making churches legally protected spaces for asylum from secular justice and violence.
Medieval Practice: For centuries in Europe, churches sheltered people fleeing violence, feuds, and even the law; fugitives could claim sanctuary for a limited time, often requiring exile afterward.
Modern Revival (U.S.)
Underground Railroad: Churches served as crucial stops for escaped enslaved people in the U.S..
Vietnam War Era: Churches became sanctuaries for draft resisters, like those opposing the Vietnam War, creating a "sanctuary for the conscientious".
Central American Refugees: Starting in the 1980s, the Sanctuary Movement began in Tucson, Arizona, with churches sheltering refugees fleeing violence in El Salvador and Guatemala, challenging U.S. asylum denials.
Contemporary Context
Immigration: Today, churches continue to offer sanctuary to undocumented immigrants, a practice controversial due to potential conflicts with immigration laws, though the government historically avoided raids in "sensitive locations" like churches.
Focus on Innocence: Modern sanctuary differs from medieval times, focusing on protecting the innocent fleeing persecution, not harboring criminals.
