Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

"All these mechanisms (tapping storage and national reserves) helped to mitigate the price and supply risk," Chevron (CVX) CEO Mike Wirth said Friday at an energy conference in Austin, Texas, according to The Wall Street Journal. "Those have largely now played out, and we don't have nearly the buffers in the system that we did when [the Middle East war] began."

"The advantage in most negotiations usually goes to the side that has time on their side and is willing to be patient," and Iran is "willing to suffer," Quantum Capital Group CEO Wil VanLoh said at the Austin conference. "Their people have already suffered a lot for many decades."

Analysts say China is in part helping to exacerbate the global supply pinch, resuming bigger purchases from international suppliers after relying for months on its own stockpiles of crude for nearly half of its daily consumption, which had provided a reprieve for oil markets.

I was wondering when that was going to happen. China has been keeping the lid on oil prices all summer.

Word is that McDonalds and Burger King are buying Trump's mystery meat.

Not that we can afford to drive down for a hamburger anyway.

Saudi Arabia has (had) a two or three day backup storage capacity in case there was a problem with their east-west pipeline.

Now reporting indicates it may be weeks before the pipeline is fully functioning once again.

Trumpy doesn't pay for gas.

So Trumpy does not see it as a problem. His personal stock holdings are doing just fine thank you very much.

curious as to what the incentive is for "oil execs" to tell the truth about anything at all....

This was all done on purpose.

Trump eliminated all solar and wind energy projects. Spending billions of tax payers dollars to do so.

Then starts an absurd war with Iran. Spending billions of taxpayers dollars to maintain it.

Gas prices are skyrocketing. Food prices are skyrocketing. Inflation is skyrocketing.

Corporate profits are at an all time high.

There's no other way to put it than, this was all done on purpose.

Just wait until you see republicans win in November.

Democrats won't challenge the results.

And he'll change them to holdings that will do well based on the information he gets before anyone else.

I've said repeatedly that the reason things don't make sense is because we're not privy to the actual goals and objectives.

The only way this war is making sense is that certain sectors pushed for it to boost their standing and profitability artificially.

A war with seemingly no objectives other than to spend money and munitions. Why?

So that they can then demand $1.5 trillion in funding to replenish it. All at inflated costs I'm sure.

And the depletion of world oil reserves? To be replenished at record high prices, I'm sure.

It's almost as if they looked at the pandemic spending and pharma company profits and decided that manufacturing a crisis to force similar government spending in their spheres was a good idea.

Anyone else remember this January meeting? the month before the Iran War?

President Trump Participates in a Meeting with Oil and Gas Executives

I'd have loved to be a fly on the wall when the press wasn't in the room and cameras weren't rolling.

Eberly, you would be proud.

Here in Texas:
1. We have Trump trying to delay mail in ballots at USPS so they don't count even if sent properly and legally
2. Texas suspended 1.2 million people from the voting rolls without notice that they were suspended (300,000 just from Harris County)
3. We are ditching huge numbers of polling stations in urban areas to ensure voters have to wait 3-8 hours in line to vote IF they are willing to stay that long

That's not cheating, right?

Yeah, at some point you have to call it what it is....a deliberate attempt to reduce the number of voters.

What part of that do you suppose I'm proud of?

And you realize that has nothing to do with my comment to Clown you referenced?

Are you aware that Texas has been doing that for 13 years....and it totals over 700 polling places statewide?

Seriously....did you know that?

Voter suppression has been ongoing for 13 years, so it's okay?

Since they've been cheating this long, why stop them now?

Sycophant, I believe, was pointing out the fact republicans are cheating and democrats aren't doing annything about it.

Then there's the Supreme Court which approved Texas's redistricting, but shot down Virginia's.

Until democrats embrace the 2nd amendment, republicans will continue to steamroll them.
