If in federal forests, they are my trees, I am a citizen and I own them. If you follow the money...one thing the people don't get is a return on owning their own country. That isn't socialism, it is pure capitalism.

Big money showing its...love of self and hate of the people. As many have said, including Bernie, either we take money out of politics or we lose our Constitutional Republic to the billionaire oligarchs, as Russia lost their young democracy.

Shades of the Vietnam War years, as we, yes, woke, to the fact that the war was engaged in without properly looking at the fact it was a civil war to defend the people against the colonial aggressor, in that case, the French Catholics, and in the case of the Iran war...not the clerics, but by killing all the Iranian leaders, all we did was consolidate the people into fighting the US. This is an illegal war in Iran, and our murder of those leaders was a war crime, and not getting Congressional Approval made the war quite illegal.

All I know is that for the first time in my long life, Comcast offered me near gigabit speeds, and I indulged and it is quite wonderful. If it is possible to offer over cable wires, the great majority of Americans are able to have it, and the feds are just being...wrong.

Only two choices for how the future goes, either we devolve into being a fascist, banana republic state where the super rich dominate, as in Russia, or we evolve into a country where all share in the wealth and have access to a great medical system and have decent housing.
Trumpism or Bernie-ism.

So if the cops can have shock gloves...cannot any citizen on the street wear them as they will?

I mourn this war, it seems to showcase bravado and boys with big missiles over the need to work toward a dream of a peaceful, united planet were the rule of law is prime.
We are the war criminals here, we are the murderers who tricked the Iranians into meeting so that we and our 51st state, the nuclear powered Israel, could kill them. If that is fair for us, that kind of sneak attack on their leaders...

It is as if Putin were standing at Trump's elbow, showing him how to bankrupt this country and weaken our military. Both Russia and China stand to gain from our weakness and from having an idiot like Hegseth in charge.

American Fascism on display. Here, I define Fascism as "the permanent rule of the very rich oligarchs, at the top of the economic pyramid, allowed to live as kings and queens of all". Russia is a fascist state, and so is America, though for a bit still we get to vote, but make no mistake about it, if there is even a chance the rule of the fascists might fall, we will end in some sort of nuke exchange that will stop the voting this time.

Is it mean to hope that a lot of previously unvaccinated MAGA parents get measles themselves?

Ah, the rule of law...I love the optimism shown...one can appeal to the courts for justice. Imagine a world where the rule of law held power, where America would have had to go to an international court to fight Iran, rather than commit the war crime of murdering over 80 of its leaders.

Oh, many of us out here know full and well we are not in control of out government, of our country...them's with the big bucks own both. But we get a chance to cast our tiny vote in November, and then in 2028, and one hopes a lot of tiny votes unite to de-elect the damn quisling Republican Party.

Interesting concept...late stage capitalism, which many of us see America being captured by, to the massive profit of the oligarch caste. One key part of late stage capitalism is that there is an economic pyramid with a few at the top, owning maybe half of the wealth, and the rest of the country struggling at the bottom
Funnily, some of us also see late state communism as pretty much the same thing, as a few billionaire oligarchs grift their way to immense wealth, as happened as the Soviet Union fell.

I just watched a small video of Abdul El-Sayed explaining Medicare for All. Sure makes sense to me...would be a relief for tens of millions of Americans.

I wonder if MAGA would like to weigh in and explain the rationality behind our support of the apartheid nation, Israel, as if it is our 51st state, and them maybe explain that sneak attack that murdered over 80 of the Iranian leaders, meeting at our direction to hammer out another agreement.

I just spent a quiet moment or two delightedly daydreaming about America rationally taking all of its forces, and money, out of the insane asylum called the Middle East, and having a foreign policy of "tending to our own knitting", to use an olden phrase.
We are, more and more, looking as the Soviet Union looked as it fell, and it could no longer pay the electricity bill for its military bases and it couldn't afford to keep a fleet roaming the seas.
We are, as they were, led by senility and criminality, and our oligarchs are looting the treasury, in effect.

If someone gave me a couple of billion dollars to invest, just because of who I am related to, by marriage, yeah, I would be grinning too.
Worst President ever with the worst advisors ever...

If Trump is nettled about his past trials...come 2028, or after the midterms if the Dems take back both Houses of Congress, there will be massive investigations looking at his "wealth building' .

Fascism is always on the hunt...its hate needs to be fed, night and day, and Trump is the clearest example of that. Has Trump done anything of merit in regards to the poor and powerless in America, for those who cannot afford their rents...cannot find a health plan that lets their children get covered?
Sure, there are governmental programs but Trump and his gang are doing what they can to take those lifesaving programs away. Many people have died since they shut down USAID.

Either Trump is relieved of his command, or America, fairly soon, will bear the responsibility for unforgivable war crimes, more war crimes.
I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the Republican Party to find its spine.

It is one thing to have an enemy across the ocean who one fears, it is quite another to have one such person sitting as the leader of one's own country. Frightening times, incompetence leading the way in all spheres of governance.

If Putin were sitting in the White House as Trump's sole advisor, things couldn't be handled more stupidly.

So Trump resigns just before the midterms, rather than after, and is pardoned by President Vance, and he hides from being in the public eye.
If he doesn't, the Republican Party is going to lose an amazing amount of political power, almost overnight.

"Join us in the denuclearization of...Iran..."?
Iran, to be clear, had no nuclear weapons, whereas Israel has hundreds of nuclear weapons of mass destruction aimed straight at Iran.
South Korea needed to keep its forces at home...it has an implacable enemy just across its border.
Trump is the worst President in history...he takes aim at our allies and pretends to be great friends with our enemies.

Again, if it were me, I would be plotting out my resignation from the Presidency so that the VP can automatically rise to the Presidency and pardon me and my entire grifting gang. I do believe courts have ruled there are limits to a President's pardon power, he cannot pardon himself, and he cannot do it as part of a criminal activity. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the Roberts' Court holding him to the law.
