The "left" has nothing to do with this. This occurred in Florida, a state that has been controlled by republicans for decades. The state is in the bottom half of states when it comes to mental health care. They only loosely regulate safe storage of guns in homes with children.

If this family had been in Ca, Mass, Oregon, Il, NY or a number of other blue states then the mother would have been required to properly secure her gun where her minor child could not access it.

Hopefully Missouri voters are wising up to fact that the GOP dominated state legislature and GOP Governors don't care about what the people think are in our best interest.
