Another is Julie K. Brown of the Miami Herald

en.wikipedia.org

... Julie Knipe Brown (born 1961) is an American investigative journalist with the Miami Herald best known for pursuing the sex trafficking story surrounding Jeffrey Epstein, who in 2008 was allowed to plead guilty to two state-level prostitution offenses.[1][2] She is the recipient of several awards including two George Polk Awards for Justice Reporting.[3]

Brown was included in Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2020.[4] ...

Investigation into Jeffrey Epstein

Brown has been credited with re-opening the Jeffrey Epstein sexual abuse case with a series of reports published in November 2018.[9][10][11] She began investigating Epstein in early 2017 and persisted in uncovering facts about the large number of accusers and the pressure campaign to silence them.[12][13] Brown uncovered 80 potential victims (as young as 13 and 14 years old when the abuse occurred) and documented the eight individuals who agreed to tell their stories.[13]

In 2008, Epstein had been allowed to plead guilty to only two state-level prostitution offenses, even though sex with underage girls is legally rape. The secret deal that then-US Attorney Alex Acosta struck with Epstein made the federal sex trafficking charges disappear, shut down an FBI probe that might have uncovered dozens of victims and granted immunity to any possible co-conspirators, a clause that protected powerful men.[2] Brown's 2018 reporting on the deal sparked criticism of Acosta, who by then had become the United States secretary of labor, and there was pressure for him to resign. He eventually resigned after Epstein was arrested and charged in July 2019.[14] ...

#3 Well, now, that poll certainly explains these recent elections:

('Tis like shooting fish in a barrel ...)

-> Georgia voters ousted two Republican members of the state's Public Service Commission in favor of two Democrats - the first Democrats to win statewide nonfederal offices in decades.

-> Democrats in Mississippi Break the G.O.P.'s State House Supermajority

-> Every single county in Virginia - even deeply red counties - saw shifts TOWARDS the Democrats, as opposed to how they voted 1 year ago.

-> Dems flip Wichita School Board from a 4-3 GOP majority to a 5-2 Democratic majority. Democratic candidates Amy Warren and Amy Jensen defeated Republican incumbents Hazel Stabler and Kathy Bond.

-> Two of Tuesday's school board elections were in Bucks County, Pa., which was considered "ground zero" for right-wing groups' takeover of school boards in 2021. A few years ago, conservatives on these boards in Pennbridge and Central Bucks districts were using their roles to pass policies targeting LGBTQ+ students and banning books.

---> Democrats flipped control of both boards in 2023, and on Tuesday, they ousted every Republican from both of these boards, except for one. The Pennbridge school board is now 8-1, with Democratic members in control. The Central Bucks school board is 9-0.

-> In Texas, we even won in Lockhart, which sits in a district so red that Democrats normally don't even run. We had a clean sweep in Cy-Fair ISD, another deeply red area that not even Greg Abbott could save your party.

-> In SD-9, another red district, we saw an 8 point shift for the Democrat

-> Eileen Higgins elected as first Democratic mayor of Miami in three decades

"The Democratic Party has a lower net favorability rating than its Republican rivals, President Trump and even the much-maligned Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), according to a stunning new poll of registered voters.

The NBC News survey found that 30% of respondents had "very positive" or "somewhat positive" views of Democrats, while 52% had "very negative" or "somewhat negative" views of Democrats, for an overall net rating of -22.

The alarmingly low score still represents a recovery for the party from its low point of a -28 net rating in March 2025 (27% positive, 55% negative)."

Iran reportedly starts mining the Strait of Hormuz as U.S. readies intensified strikes
foxbaltimore.com

... Iran has reportedly started laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz, which carries about one-fifth of all crude oil, according to CNN.

The mining is still in its beginning stages, and a few dozen have been laid in recent days. However, Iran still holds 80% to 90% of its small boats and mine layers, according to a source to CNN. Its forces could likely lay hundreds of mines in the waterway.

Allegedly, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps can deploy a "gauntlet" of dispersed mine-laying, boats and shore-based missile batteries. ...

"An Iranian Jew named Yosef lamented: "It is Zionism that has damaged Israel's reputation around the world. Today there is hardly any influential left-wing movement left in Israel. The competition is between hard-right politicians and even more radical ones." Yosef describes himself as a strong critic of Zionism, which he believes has played a major role in destabilizing the entire Middle East. "What happened in Gaza will remain in history," Yosef says, referring to Israel's genocide of the Palestinians in Gaza. "The shame of it will stay with Zionism and those who supported it."

International arrest warrants for war crimes issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) at the Hague remain active for Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and former IDF General Yoav Gallant. In addition, the Istanbul Public Prosecutor in Turkiye issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and 30 other suspected Israeli war criminals.

INTERPOL Red Notices have been internationally diffused for these notorious fugitives from justice.

Notably, the ICC has not yet indicted Dummkopf Trumpf, Secretary of War Crimes Pete Hegseth, or Empty Suit USSECSTATE Marco Rubio for crimes against humanity.

Indictments are merely allegations. To ensure a fair trial, Messrs Netanyahu and Gallant must both be presumed innocent until they are proven guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt at an international tribunal to be held for them in the Hague at future dates.
