Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, May 29, 2025

Longtime White House reporter Brian Karem is suggesting that, as disturbing as Donald Trump's mental decline has become more apparent during his second term, what is even more dangerous are the people who support him and defend despite evidence that he is giving signs that he is slipping.

OK, let's start with a premise that your current alias seems to agree with ...

Both Pres Trump is suffering and fmr Pres Biden had suffered a mental decline while in office.

OK, given that, which one of the two has actively been doing damage to the Democracy of the Republic? And how/why?

What are the desired end results of those two possible mental declines?

Whataboutisms are still logical fallacies that don't address an argument to the current point, that being Trump's obvious mental decline.

They are merely claims of some perceived hypocrisy, usually from people who have no argument at all.

Please allow me to remind our friends on the other side of the political spectrum that Democrats demanded Joe Biden step aside in 2024. An organization of angry voices far too late, absolutely! He should have never ran again and I did not vote for him in the primary. I did not donate money to him. I wrote to him directly in January asking him to declare he was not running again.

But comparing Trump to Biden is both baffling and troubling. Biden was NEVER an openly "us against them" schemer, and NEVER motivated by revenge. We are now seeing a psychotic Alzheimer's patient destroy much of America and divide the people for personal gain AND openly take bribes AND ruin all of our alliances.

And for what? owning the libs? Attacking higher education so it becomes a watered down piece of feces like all red states public schools and Hillsdale "College" and Liberty "University"? Is that what Trump party members want, a dumbing down of higher education while lying to the public that you are "curing' it of DEI and "wokeness," concepts you cannot even correctly define?

The Republican Party used to stand for intellectual discourse and restraint. Now it is a deeply malevolent joke.

Mod,

"Trump is already further gone than Biden ever was even at his worst."

Really? Biden's aides were literally talking about putting him in a wheelchair and wheeling him out just to show "proof of life."

If you think Trump is anywhere close to that, you're either living on another planet or just not paying attention.

Trump commutes gang leader's sentence in flurry of pardons

"As part of a spree of more than two dozen clemency actions this week, US President Donald Trump on Wednesday commuted the federal prison sentence of Larry Hoover, the founder of a notorious Chicago street gang.

Hoover was the leader of the Gangster Disciples and in the 1990s was given six life sentences on conspiracy, extortion, drug and other criminal charges."

Because of this----Yes, BILL JOHNSON----There is every chance that Donald pardons Diddy.

Precisely because such an act is trangressive and hurts people, including the Republican Party.

"There is every chance that Donald pardons Diddy."

Trump's handed out plenty of pardons, but none have gone to anyone convicted of rape, sex trafficking, or violent crimes.

A pardon for Diddy would be like tossing a live grenade into the GOP.

Sure, Trump's past pardons will be talked about, but they won't sway the next election.

This one would.

Honestly, the odds of Diddy getting a pardon are about the same as Kanye being named Secretary of State.

"Ron Safer, a former U.S. attorney in Chicago who helped prosecute members of the Gangster Disciples during the 1990s, said he was shocked and dismayed by Trump's decision to commute Hoover's sentence.

He pointed out that Hoover's gang was one of the largest and most violent drug syndicates in the U.S., operating in 35 states according to the U.S Justice Department. Hoover himself was convicted of state and federal charges including murder and use of a firearm while trafficking drugs.

"Larry Hoover was the head of perhaps the most pernicious, efficient drug operation in the United States," Safer said.

"They sold over $100 million of drugs a year in the city of Chicago alone. They were responsible for countless murders. They supported their drug territories with ruthless violence."

Therefore, Trump did not pardon individuals specifically for sex crimes.

"Is this thing safe?" asks a reporter who has been assigned to find out what makes the billionaire wheeler-dealer the way he is.

"When the Queen of England is over in this country," says Trump, illustrating once again the way he is, "they call my office to find out if they can use the helicopter because it's the safest helicopter."
